Girolamo Savonarola (21 September 1452 - 23 May 1498) was a Dominican friar and the leader of Florence from 1494 to 1498.

Biography
Savonarola was born in the city of Ferrara. At a young age, Savonarola took a moral stance against the corrupt clergy present in Renaissance Italy.

In 1475, Savonarola studied at Santo Spirito and became a Dominican friar. In 1482, Savonarola was dispatched to Florence, "The City of his Destiny," by his order. During the 1480's, he made little impression, and was often called a poor public speaker. He departed Florence in 1487, back to Bologna.

Battle of Forlì
In 1488, Savonarola resided in Forlì for some time. There, he caught wind of the existence of the Apple of Eden after passing by the Orsi brothers, who were conversing with Caterina Sforza. He eavesdropped on the conversation, and from then on kept a close eye on the Orsi.

Right before Checco Orsi was killed by Ezio Auditore da Firenze's hidden blade, Checco stabbed Ezio in the left side of his lower abdomen. Ezio fell to the ground due to the pain of his wound, and right before he lost consciousness, Savonarola appeared to take the Piece of Eden from him.

Bonfire of the Vanities
Main article: Bonfire of the Vanities
After the death of Lorenzo de' Medici in 1492, Savonarola used the Apple he had stolen to take over Florence. After uniting the city under his banner, he started to destroy all Renaissance art pieces, due to his desire to revert to Medieval times. The Grand Master of the Templar Order, Pope Alexander VI, found out that Savonarola had the Apple of Eden in his possession, and sent several troops of his Papal army to retrieve it, though with no succes.

Ezio Auditore returned to Florence in 1497 and started making plans to overthrow Savonarola and retrieve the Apple of Eden.

Ezio concluded that Savonarola's rule was being forced upon the people by his nine lieutenants, who were suppressing the Florentines. Ezio killed all nine of Savonarola's lieutenants, who were all either lured into serving Savonarola, or were being controlled by the Apple. As Ezio successfully assassinated each of the lieutenants, who were spread all over Florence, his fellow Assassins, La Volpe and Paola, began to encourage the people to fight for themselves. Eventually, Savonarola's grip over Florence was lost.

An angry mob gathered in front of Savonarola's residence, the Palazzo Pitti, to stand up against him. Savonarola tried to control the mob with the Apple of Eden, but Ezio threw a knife at Savonarola's hand, which caused him to drop the Apple. With Savonarola powerless, the mob took him away, and a Templar guard fled with the Piece of Eden. Ezio chased and killed the guard, and came into possession of the Apple again.

Death
Savonarola was eventually taken by the Florentine citizens to his execution: being burned alive in the Piazza della Signoria. Meanwhile, three Assassins were watching the execution from behind the crowd. Ezio ultimately decided that nobody should die in such agony, and went towards Savonarola. Ezio stabbed him in the neck with his hidden blade before the flames could reach him, and so was the end of Girolamo Savonarola.

Savonarola's death greatly upset the Borgia family, as they were desperate to take the Apple of Eden for themselves.
Trivia
thumb|right|306px|Savonarola's first appearance.

*In 1488, Savonarola was missing his pinky finger, although the reason for this is unknown.
*In real life, Pope Alexander VI excommunicated him, and had him crucified and burned alive.
*Savonarola is the only known antagonist who was neither a Templar, nor was affiliated with them.
*Savonarola's character seems to be quite similar to that of Jubair al Hakim from Assassin's Creed. Both men believed that knowledge is the path to evil and sin, and both organized massive bonfires throughout their cities to burn books and other sources of knowledge that they believed corrupted society. The missions to assassinate them are also very similar, as in both situations the player must take down each of the assassination target's lieutenants before actually confronting the target (though this is optional in Assassin's Creed).
*In the Assassin's Creed: Renaissance novel, Ezio is infuriated after he discovers that Savonarola's men had killed Cristina Vespucci.
*Also in Renaissance, Ezio shoots Savonarola instead of stabbing him as he is being burned at the stake.
*It is unknown why Ezio showed mercy to Savonarola by giving him a quick death when his followers were responsible for Cristina's death.
Cristina Vespucci (1459 - 1498), was a well-known Florentine beauty and a favorite of painters, most notably Botticelli, who used her as a model for several of his paintings.

Biography
Early life
Cristina Vespucci was born in Florence, Italy, circa 1459. From an early age, she caught the eyes of many boys who wanted to become intimate with her. One of those boys was Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who was encouraged to go speak with Cristina by his brother Federico. However, Cristina wasn't interested in him and walked away. Ezio, who wasn't used to being turned down by a woman, followed Cristina to her home, where she was confronted by Vieri de' Pazzi, who asked her why she "hadn't spread her legs to [him] yet." After Cristina turned Vieri down, he was about to sexually attack Cristina, when he was punched in the face by Ezio, who had come to Cristina's rescue. Cristina was thankful of Ezio's actions and so began a relationship between the two.

Ezio visited Cristina quite frequently and was "unbelievably dexterous," as the guards were never able to catch him tresspassing.

Middle years
Cristina was a bit responsible for starting her cousin Amerigo's career. Cristina attended a dinner party, where she had a conversation with Lorenzo de' Medici and Manfredo Soderini about her cousin. She exaggerated Amerigo's brilliance, saying: "Try Amerigo out. I bet after several years you'll have your shipping company named after him." Lorenzo, charmed by Cristina's beauty, took her advice to heart and several years later, Amerigo was the first to map out the New World and had it named after him.

In 1476, directly after the Auditore execution, Cristina helped Ezio give his father and brothers the proper final rites by burning and setting their bodies adrift in the Arno. Ezio asked Cristina to leave with him, but Cristina refused as she didn't want to leave her family. As he needed to leave for Monteriggioni with his family, Ezio gave her a crest-shaped pendant to remember him by.

As of 1478, Cristina was engaged to be married to Manfredo Soderini. When Ezio returned to Firenze for the first time in two years, Cristina was the first person he visited. After a short talk, she sadly mentioned that she had not expected him to return, before telling him of her engagement, and breaking Ezio's heart. After being informed of Manfredo being attacked by people whom he owed money, Ezio rushed to save Cristina's fiance. After killing the gamblers, Ezio hung Manfredo over a bridge and demanded to know if he truly loved Cristina, to which Manfredo sincerely replied yes. Ezio ordered him to stop gambling and to be a great husband to Cristina, or else he would hunt him down and kill him. Afterwards, Ezio returned to Cristina and kissed her, telling her that he had made sure that Manfredo would be a good husband to her.

Eight years later, 1486 in Venezia, Leonardo da Vinci revealed to Ezio that Cristina was attending Carnevale. Worrying that she would not agree to see him after all the years, Ezio snuck a letter to Cristina, posing as her husband and requesting her to meet him alone in an alley. Cristina obliged and the two kissed, with Cristina believing Ezio to be Manfredo, as he was wearing a mask. After discovering the truth, she yelled at Ezio for kissing her, both because she was already married and because she hadn't seen Ezio in so many years. Cristina told Ezio that, before, she had loved him and would rather have married him; however it was now too late. She angrily told him to never look for her again and left.

Death
In 1494, Girolamo Savonarola took control of Florence after Lorenzo de' Medici's death. Savonarola claimed that all Renaissance material was evil and that they should go back to the medieval times, instigating the Bonfire of the Vanities.

In 1498, Savonarola's fanatics infiltrated the Palazzo d'Arzente to kill Manfredo Soderini. Manfredo attempted to fend them off, however this was a vain effort, as there were too many attackers. Cristina managed to escape, but was soon cornered by the fanatics. At this point, Ezio, after hearing about what had happened from a dying Manfredo, came to her aid and killed all of the soldiers. However, Cristina was already mortally wounded and she died in Ezio's arms, though not before showing him the pendant she had kept with her the past eighteen years, and telling him that she wished they could have had a second chance.

Trivia
*In the novel Assassin's Creed: Renaissance, Cristina was said to have been killed by Savonarola's men during the attack on Manfredo's house, contrary to what was shown in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
*Even though Cristina was married for sixteen years and saw Ezio only for a few short minutes once every several years, she still loved him more than her own husband, even just moments before she died.
*It is strange that Ezio seemed to mourn Cristina's death more than his father and brothers.
The armor of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad was an unbreakable set of armor, usable in Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

History
thumb|left|300px|Auditore Villa Armory
Following the death of Al Mualim, Altaïr adopted the rank of Grand Master, eventually constructing an unbreakable set of armored robes; he chronicled its creation in his fabled Codex, wherein he admitted to discovering the properties of a new metal, from which the armor was created.

Following his death, Altaïr's armor was stored inside a vault below the Villa Auditore, and locked behind bars that only opened when all six seals from hidden Assassin's Tombs were collected and placed on their respective statues. In Altaïr's Codex, he claimed to have created a new metal that was incredibly strong, whilst also being light as a feather. In contrast to his older robes, Altaïr's armor was black, in line with the traditional color of the Grand Masters' robes.

At some point following 1485, Ezio Auditore, a descendant of Altaïr and an Assassin in his own right, managed to uncover the six Assassin seals, and claimed the robes as his own. He would eventually wear this set of robes during his confrontation with Rodrigo Borgia in Rome.

Following this, Ezio returned to Monteriggioni and gave the armor a place of pride in his bed chamber. However, with the outbreak of the Siege of Monteriggioni, the armor was struck by a cannonball, and blown across the Tuscan countryside, or possibly buried beneath the rubble of the Villa Auditore. However, at the end of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Dev Diary #2, it is shown that Ezio is fighting Cesare in Spain with the armor on. Later, it's revealed that the armor would also be used during the beginning of Brotherhood, while escaping with Mario from the Vatican.
Trivia
*According to a piece of concept art, it seems that the armor was intended to be an invention by Leonardo da Vinci before being a creation of Altaïr.
*While wearing the armor the hood is never down during cut-scenes where it would normally be down if wearing Giovanni's assassin robes.
*The cloak for Altaïr's armor, in addition to being black, is much longer than the one Ezio would wear with the other armors, and made up of three layers. Each layer is longer than the one above it, and the longest, lower layer is segmented, which gives the whole piece a look resembling Eagle's Wings. The back of the lower layer is also split down the middle, making it behave much like Altaïr's cloak from the original game, where each side would move up and down as the back of Altaïr's legs pushed against them.
*Altaïr's armor, unlike other armors in the game, can only be worn as a full set.
*This is the only armor in the game that cannot successfully be dyed: if it is dyed, it will still look the same.
*Though it is not mandatory to complete the 6 tombs, the player must get all the seals to get full synchronization.
* Altaïr's armor looks similar to Ezio's new outfit is Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is an upcoming direct sequel of 2009's Assassin's Creed II. Featuring Ezio once again, the game pictures him, now a legendary master assassin, leading a brotherhood of his in a hunt for Templars. This is also the first game of the series to include a multiplayer mode of any kind.

Desmond Miles will appear in this project, as his voice actor Nolan North has admitted to be working on a new unnamed Assassin's Creed game.
Story
Following the events of Assassin's Creed II, Ezio Auditore di Firenze is now a legendary master assassin. However, following a surprise Templar attack on the town of Monteriggioni, led by Cesare Borgia, the Assassins are brought to the verge of extinction, and the Apple lost.

With his uncle dead, and his Villa in ruins, Ezio must now travel to Rome, center of corruption, power, and home of the Templar Order in Italy; in order to regain the Apple, and bring the Templar Order to its knees once and for all.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will likely see Desmond developing leadership skills through Ezio enabling him to become leader of the modern day assassins and beginning to take the fight to the Templars.
Singleplayer
Ubisoft claims (through conferences, videos and announces) that Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will include new features, especially small gameplay add-on (i.e.: the flying Sequence in Assassin's Creed II, different from the rest of the gameplay)new weapons will be introduced such as the crossbow. New combat elements will also be introduced rewarding those who attack first.

It is also likely that the player (through Ezio) will have to train apprentices, help other assassins or even be confronted with them.

Ezio's abilty to train and send other assassins on jobs and missions may have a key gameplay element in such that their success may have a small impact of the storyline. This success will depend on abilities of the assassins sent, where younger less experienced assassins will have a higher failure rate than experienced ones. Ezio may also have the ablity to select and bring along a group of assassins to assist in his missions, Ubisoft have said that in Brotherhood leadership is as vital a skill as the ablity to use a sword. Also mentioned was the ability to select an assassin as Ezio's "personal assassin", no further information about this was given.

Multiplayer
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the first Assassin's Creed game to feature a multiplayer mode. The players are Templars in training at the Abstergo facility. They use Animi to train. The training consists of stalking and killing one another. The area in which the Templar Assassins train is selected manualy, as pre-set maps.

One of the multiplayer game modes has been announced in the July edition of Playstation magazine. This mode is called "Wanted". Six to eight players are dropped on a map where they find and kill each other. Each player is given a target, which is another player. Your goal is to find and kill your target without being seen or killed by your own predator. If you break your cover and your target sees you, a chase sequence will commence. They will try to catch and kill you and you will have to hide from them.

In Hunter mode, one player will take the role of an assassin while other players play as guards. Before the beginning of the mission the player will have to choose his class - there is no information how many classes will be available, but each class will have different animations and weapons. After the player has chosen his class, the radar will show him the area where his target is located and the number of enemy players that are searching for him. After the player has found the location where the victim is hiding they must then locate their target. There aren’t many skins for the NPCs so the player might find several identical people on the same location. That will make his job a lot harder because he should kill only one person, and if the player accidently kills an innocent person he will lose his contract. Therefore, observation is the key to success in this mode. Ubisoft hints that each multiplayer character will appear in some form in the single-player mode too.

No further specifics about game modes are known.

The Beta comes out in early Autumn.

Physics and Effects
Ubisoft has stated that the graphics will be improved upon, as well as several physics in the game. Ragdolls will fall much more realisticly due to the new, edited "Havok" engine. In the other games, ragdolls sometimes would convulse when hitting the floor after being thrown off a building.

In Assassin’s Creed II, some PC players have stated that ragdolls such as the "Borgia Messenger" are more likely to fall unrealisticly, due to their cape that 'clips' through their body. In some instances, ragdolls would have fallen with their arms clipping through their backs and legs. These certain instances mostly happen when Ezio picks up a body and throws it back on the ground, however it could happen anytime.

Controlling the Assassins
During the game you will have the option of sending Assassins to different areas to complete tasks. You will have the ability to send new assassins to other European countries and complete missions to gain status. Once they have proven themselves effectively, they can accompany you on missions in Rome. The new assassins are recruited when Ezio rescues them from harassing guards, which leads them to join the Assassins. You can have the ability to train young Assassins and have them do jobs for you.

If an Assassin fails to pass a mission, he can't be used again. You can also customize the assassin's armors and weapons, and each one has a different personality. Later on you can use experience points they gained to upgrade their fighting, and free-running abilities.
*So far it's known that you will at least be able to train twelve assassins, male or female, at a time and possibly bring up to four on missions.

Trivia
*In the E3 2010 Single Player Walkthrough, the Main Menu backround changes from the original Animus in Assassin's Creed to the Animus 2.0 in Assassin's Creed II, hinting that the Animus Desmond uses might change, like if he were captured by Abstergo, or indicating that the Abstergo Animus is used for the Multiplayer.
*Its unknown what happend to Maria or Claudia Auditore during the attack on Monterrigoni
In the cinematic trailer there are 12 papal guards in addition to Cesare making 13 Templars. this is significant because the Templars were disbanded on Friday the 13th(some how making that day and number unlucky) it is unknown whether or not Ubisoft put this in for that reason or just for cosmetic reasons.
Maria Auditore da Firenze (née de' Mozzi)&nbsp;was the wife of Giovanni Auditore, a prominent Florentine banker and member of the Order of Assassins. She is the mother of three sons – Federico, Ezio and Petruccio – and a daughter named Claudia. Born into the noble de' Mozzi family, Maria liked to mix with "real citizens" when she was younger, leading her to a chance of meeting with the man who would become her husband. As part of the Auditore family she continued to fraternise with the lower classes, developing a working relationship with the artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Aware of her husband's allegiances to the Assassins, Maria kept it a secret from her children up to his death, and upon her grieving silence did not mention it either. As she married into the family line of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, she became an ancestor of Desmond Miles.

Biography
Assassin's Creed: Lineage
In 1476 Maria Auditore da Firenze lived happily with her husband, three sons and daughter in the heart of the city. Close to the de' Medici family, Maria was by this time aware of her husband's duties as an assassin, and would tend his wounds should he receive them.

With their second son, Ezio, then seventeen Maria felt it time for Giovanni to tell him of his heritage.

Assassin's Creed II
The day following Ezio's fight with Vieri de' Pazzi on the Florentine bridge, Maria had him walk with her to collect a number of commissioned paintings from the artist Leonardo da Vinci, introducing the two in the process. She was at home when the city guards arrived to take away her husband and sons; when she protested, it is suggested that the guards sexually assaulted her. When Ezio returned home he discovered that his mother's assault had shocked her into silence. She and Claudia were then taken to safety by their maid, Annetta.

The next day Ezio returned, wearing the robes of his father and bringing the fateful news of the execution.

She then followed Ezio and Claudia to the Villa Auditore in the town of Monteriggioni. Arriving in the town, Maria took up residence in the Villa, refusing to speak and constantly praying over the feathers her youngest son, Petruccio, used to collect. Eventually, Ezio had collected one-hundred white feathers for his mother to watch over, Maria hugged him and spoke once more, thanking her son for not forgetting about her.

As a reward for his collection of the feathers, Maria bestowed Ezio a cloak embossed with the Auditore family crest.

In the official novel 'Assassin's Creed: Renaissance', Maria does not spend all her time in prayer over Petruccio's feathers, but spends time within Monteriggioni's convent. It is stated that it helps her to do simple tasks, though a full recovery is never shown, and it is unsaid as to whether she goes to the Auditore villa with Claudia. She is mentioned very little after settling into her new life at Monteriggioni.
*She is one of the characters whose appearance never ages.
*Maria prays for 10-23 years since all of the places that have feathers aren't unlocked until Sequence 9 of Assassin's Creed II.
*She seems to be a skilled surgeon as she is seen stitching up Giovanni's near-fatal wound in Lineage.
*Maria married Giovanni (16 at the time) when she was 18.

After becoming Master of the Order, Altaïr used the knowledge from within the Apple to construct a lightweight, yet unbreakable set of armor.

History
Unlike the robes Altaïr wore during the events of Assassin's Creed, this armor provided more protection against attacks and was dyed black/red. Due to its advanced design, it was more similar to the armor Giovanni and Ezio wore than Altaïr's original armor. The armor is seen in Assassin's Creed II.

Assassin's Creed II
Years later, Altaïr's armor was stored inside a vault below the Auditore Villa, locked behind bars which only opened when all six seals from hidden Assassins' tombs were collected and placed on their respective statues. As each seal was placed, a bar (to which the placed seal corresponds) retracted into the wall. When all six seals were placed, the bars that block access to the Altaïr's armor retracted into the floor, granting access to the armor. Altaïr's armor was the most powerful armor in Assassin's Creed II. Since it couldn't break, it didn't need to be repaired, which saved the user a great deal of florins. Unfortunately, the armor couldn't be dyed visibly when worn. In Altaïr's Codex Pages, he claimed to have created a new metal which was incredibly strong whilst being light as a feather. In a contrast to other Assassins' robes, Altaïr's armor was black, while Ezio and Altaïr originally wore white. The black color scheme could be attributed to the rank of Grandmaster of the Syrian Assassins' Sect, which Altaïr obtained after defeating Al Mualim. Once Ezio obtained it, it could be taken on and off in the Auditore Family Villa in the armor room. Altaïr's armor had to be worn all at once: you couldn't mix it with other armor sets/types. It's important to note that while the armor was unbreakable, it was not a full body suit, which explained how Ezio could be damaged while wearing it.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Altaïr's armor was possibly lost during the Templar attack on the Villa Auditore in 1499. While the armor was in the room when he found out about the attack Ezio probably didn't grab it because the cannonball that broke through the wall had scattered it and he was rushed to join the fight. The armor was virtually indestructible, which would have been crucial to Ezio as he'd have been more able to resist Cesare Borgia's gunmen. Due to its nature, it most likely survived the raid but may have been buried underneath the rubble of the villa.

If you look closely at Ezio's new robes in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood they look very similar to Altaïr's armor only Ezio's robes are white and Altaïr's armor was black.

*It is interesting to note that the Chest Guard of Altaïr and Pauldrons of Altaïr somewhat resemble Roman Lorica segmentata. Also, the cape-pauldron seems to be composed of leather. Plus, the Vambraces of Altaïr resemble golden Missaglias and Guard Captains wear similar vambraces. The Greaves of Altaïr also bear a strong resemblance to leather.
*The Robes that come with the armor look like a cross between Al Mualim's, Altaïr's and Giovanni's robes.
*Altaïr's armor, unlike other armors in the game, can only be worn as a full set.
*Despite having been created by Altaïr probably in the 13th century, the armor set corresponds with 15th century Italian fashion. This could be attributed to the armored parts of the outfit being created in the 13th century while the cloth sections where added at a later time period, closer to the 15th century.
*It is also interesting to note that while Altaïr's armor is the strongest armor in the game the Missaglias Vambraces give the player one extra health point whereas Altaïr's armor does not.
*This is the only armour in the game that cannot be dyed.
What am I - what are you, my mom?
Shaun Hastings is a supporting character in Assassin's Creed II. He is voiced by and modelled after Danny Wallace, a British author and comedian. He assists Desmond by creating database entries on various persons, groups and buildings he will encounter while in the Animus 2.0. Every time Desmond encounters something of importance, Shaun will make an entry in the database, a sort of digital archive, for more in-depth information.

Biography
Early Life
Through conversations in Assassin's Creed II, Desmond learns that Shaun was interested in conspiracies from an early age. Though he was unaware of the existence of modern-day Templars and Assassins, he realized that there was some power-struggle going on. Shaun attempted to tell others about his findings, not realizing that the Templars would try to silence him. Fortunately, Rebecca Crane "rescued" Shaun, and recruited him into the Assassin Order. This was somewhat unconventional, as Assassins are usually born into the order, as with Desmond.
Assassin's Creed II
During the events of Assassin's Creed II, Shaun's role is to provide tactical support to the other Assassins, as well as providing Desmond with interesting database entries, and the occasional piece of advice on glyph puzzles. Shaun is always busy on his computer though, and rarely has any opportunities to speak with Desmond - telling him to "go away."

Characteristics and Personality
Shaun is often cynical, condescending and pessimistic, but does have a playful side, often inserting humorous tidbits into the database entries of the Renaissance characters. Sometimes he will have little patience to talk to Desmond, other times he will lead off into long conversations. While Shaun's annoyance is usually directed at Desmond, he does insult Rebecca's immaturity by saying "the grown-ups are talking now" - even though she says she's saved his life multiple times. During the modern segments, Shaun says that he enjoys his work researching behind a desk instead of being out in the field. When talking about his status as an Assassin, Shaun claims that he has killed before, and it is likely that he will kill again, though he would prefer if it wasn't necessary. This other side to Shaun's personality is also shown when he explains that he would like to sit in the Animus and perform Desmond's role.
<br clear="left"/>
Trivia
*Danny Wallace, the voice of the character, was contacted by Ubisoft when he went to the BAFTA video game awards with a friend. He was e-mailed and asked if he would like to be a character in an unknown video game which he accepted. The game turned out to be Assassin's Creed II.
*Shaun is very cynical; as he is quick to point out to Desmond that the Assassins are still killers whatever their motives; making them no more the "good guys" than the Templars.
*Shaun is quite irate through out most of his scenes, treating Desmond with contempt and belittling Rebecca. This is probably due to the high amount of stress that he must be under, juggling his duty to help Desmond in the Animus and his duty to the other Assassins. He also displays a little envy towards Desmond, as he wants to explore the timeline himself. Overall though, he probably holds a certain respect for Desmond; for his ancestry and as a fellow assassin. He no doubt holds Rebecca in higher regard than he lets on, since she did save him from Abstergo. Only Lucy seems to be above his snide remarks, either as a sign of greater respect or because he knows not to mess with her.
*Shaun states during the corrupted sequences that he forgot Rodrigo Borgia was pope even though there is a portrait of him on the wall next to his computer.
*Shaun affirms that he also provides tactical support for the Assassins on the field.
*In one conversation with Desmond, Shaun tells him that he has his own special type of ability, which allows him to "see" information and decode it more easily. He compares it to Desmond's Eagle Vision, only more "useful" in his opinion. He was probably referring more to his high intellect than some kind of super-human ability though.
*The character Shaun Hastings is loosely based on the real life Sean Hastings, a cult hero in the computer industry.
* Shaun may have sent the email that can be read in Warren Vidic's computer in Assassin's Creed. It is likely because the writer would have had to be an Assassin for the Piece of Eden not to affect them.
