Francisco Pizzaro Gonzalez (in Spanish, Francisco Pizarro González) (1471 or 1476 - 26 June 1541) was a Spanish Conquistador and secretly a Templar whose conquests reached South America and the Incan Empire of Peru.

Pizzaro arrived in Peru in late 1532 with a small band of fellow conquistadors, ostensibly to find gold. In truth, he sought a Piece of Eden. In mid-November of that year, Pizzaro and his men arrived at the outskirts of the Inca city of Cajamarca. After being rebuked trying to be diplomatic with the Inca Emperor Atahualpa, who was staying in the city, Pizzaro decided to attack the Incas the next day. His ambush was a devastating success; the Incas were mostly Atahualpa's courtiers and officials as well as civilians who carried no weapons, and what soldiers were there were completely unarmed. Pizzaro captured Atahualpa and took his Piece of Eden, after which he ordered the former Emperor strangled to death.

After taking the rest of the Empire, Pizzaro soon faced enemies from within his own ranks, mostly from another conquistador, Diego Il Almagoro and his brothers. On 25 June 1541, he was assassinated by the Almagoros, who may have secretly been Assassins, and who might have taken the Piece of Eden from Pizzaro. It is unknown what Piece of Eden Pizzaro took from Atahualpa and used to rule the local populance into submission to the Spanish Empire.

The Shroud of Eden, commonly known as the Shroud of Turin, is a linen cloth bearing an image of a man suffering a physical trauma relevant to crucifixion. It is kept in the royal chapel of the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist in Turin, northern Italy. Some say that the shroud is the very same cloth placed on the body of Jesus, with its image of the face being the Holy Face of Jesus. In the Assassin's Creed universe, The Shroud, more specifically PE66, is a Piece of Eden. Many historical and religious figures like Jason, Joseph, David, and Jesus have possessed it at a certain time. Its purpose still unknown although it was likely used to cure illness, wounds, and to resurrect the deceased. A characteristic of the shroud demonstrated in the story of the sick lady who touched Jesus' robe, whose health was then restored back to normal.

History of the Shroud
Being responsible for Jesus' crucifixion, the Templars sought to possess The Shroud. Jesus' disciples however, were somehow able to recover it and used it to resurrect him. After this, traces of The Shroud disappeared. The Shroud eventually ended up hidden underneath Monteriggioni, most likely by Mario's great-grandfather when he built the Villa Auditore, as hinted in Project Legacy. The location of The Shroud was discovered by the Templars, at some point, seeing as the siege of Monteriggioni was to gain access to The Shroud. Mario successfully repelled the attack, and through a confession of Luziano Pezatti, Mario learned that the siege was to gain access to something under Monteriggioni. When Mario and a team of soldiers excavated the well, they found a hidden chamber filled with traps. As they crossed the chamber, they suffered many casualties, and a trap even scarred Mario's eye. Eventually, Mario discovered The Shroud, but was attacked by his men because they wanted The Shroud for its healing capabilities. Scared of The Shroud's power, Mario sends for Giovanni Auditore to take it away. It is unknown what Giovanni Auditore did with The Shroud, but it eventually ended up in the hands of the Assassins in Agnadello.

Perotto Calderon traveled to Agnadello in order to save his deformed illegitimate son by using the Shroud. Perotto even killed and maimed several of his brotherhood to access it. The shroud then somehow fell into the hands of Niccolò di Pitigliano, likely during or around the Battle of Agnadello, of which Pitigliano was a participant. In 1510, Assassin Francesco Vecellio was sent to kill Niccolò di Pitigliano and to retrieve the shroud. Vecellio succeeded in striking a deadly blow; however, Pitigliano survived. Wounded and dying, Pitigliano retrieved the Shroud from its hiding place and wrapped himself in it in an attept to save himself. However, the artifact turned against him and destroyed his body, finishing the Assassin's job. Vecellio, who had anticipated this, reappeared and took the shroud from his dying grip.

PE66 was bought from a villager in Milan, Italy by a Templar agent during World War II for a large sum of money on Christmas day.

Side effects
The use of the Shroud does not come without side effects. As demonstrated with both Francesco Vecellio and Perotto Calderon the shroud has several psychologically and physically damaging side effects with its use. Once in physical proximity the Shroud seems to "speak" to the user. When touched by Perotto Calderon it "told" him, through a voice in his head, that his son was "broken goods" and could not be healed. Francesco Vecellio experienced the same voice in his head as well as graphic hallucinations. Like other Pieces of Eden, though more discernable than most known Pieces, The Shroud has even more detrimental effects when the user attempts to fully control its power. When Niccolò di Pitigliano attempted to control the Shroud, his body was smashed from inside-out by the Shroud's power.

In one of the christmas memories for Project Legacy, a group of assassins assess the Shroud and it's appearance. They have stated the image of a man imprinted on the cloth seems to have changed through out history to match the image of the last person to have been revived by it's power.

Trivia
*Interestingly, in the French version of Assassin's Creed II, the Shroud was referred to as Piece of Eden #36, not #66. Whether this was a mistake in the translation or not remains to be seen.
*In Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, one of Mnemonic sets from the Holiday pack is "Shroud of Turin" with the description "Greatest mystery, or clever hoax?". It's components are: Jesus of Nazareth, Jacques de Molay, Geoffroi de Charny and Cesare Borgia,in which all of them look like the man's face inprinted in The Shroud.
Adolf Hitler (April 20, 1889 – c.April 30, 1945) was the leader of Nazi Germany during the Second World War, and a member of the Knights Templar.

Biography
A member of the Knights Templar since before 1933, Hitler was given possession of a Templar-held Piece of Eden to affect a take-over of Germany, with the intention of starting a large scale war in Europe. Utilizing the Piece of Eden handed to him by his fellow Templar, Henry Ford; Hitler achieved a democratic takeover of the country and subsequently turned it into a military dictatorship. With the Piece of Eden in his possession, this change was widely unopposed and he remained highly popular within Germany; fanatical soldiers accepted his orders unquestioningly and proceeded to invade Poland, starting the Second World War. Eventually however, despite the strength of the Piece of Eden, Germany was defeated by the combined might of the Allies and Soviets; though this could possibly have been a predetermined outcome created by the Knights Templar.

Hitler was meant to survive the war, kill a body-double and fake his death. Shortly before the wars' end however, Hitler was assassinated by a member of the Order of Assassins; his actual death would go unnoticed until his failure to meet with his fellow Templars.

What became of the Piece of Eden following Hitler's death remains unknown.
*It is suggested in Subject Sixteen's glyphs that World War II could have been a pre-planned conflict started by the Templars; Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Franklin Delano Roosevelt were all members of the Order.
*Historically, Hitler won the Iron Cross twice during World War I for bravery. The Iron Cross is, in this instance, the same symbol as the Mark of Cain, the emblem of the Knights Templar and Identical to the Knights Teutonic Cross.Hitler in fact, wanted to revive the Knights Teutonic and greatly admired that order during The Crusades
Bianca Riario (March 1478 - 1522) is a character in Assassin's Creed II, appearing in the Battle of Forlì.

Biography
Bianca Riario was the daughter of Girolamo Riario and Caterina Sforza, and sister to Ottaviano Riario.

In 1484, at the age of 6, she witnessed the sacking of her family's palazzo in Rome and was carried by her lunatic warrior mother into a siege af the Castel Sant'Angelo.

Next, dragged by her family to Forlì, far more horrifying delights awaited her. Shortly after Bianca's 10th birthday, her father, Girolamo, was stabbed to death and his naked body thrown into the middle of the town square. Then her family's palazzo was sacked AGAIN and she was kidnapped by the Orsi Brothers.

Bianca escaped the Orsis and returned to her mother (rescued by Ezio Auditore da Firenze from Templar guards). Then, when she was 16, while out on a hunting expedition with her mother's new husband, Giacomo Feo, she witnessed his brutal ambush and assassination. In 1500, Bianca's mother was taken prisoner by Cesare Borgia and apparently raped by Rodrigo Borgia and Cesare.

Cesare then killed Bianca's husband, Astorre Manfredi III, in 1502. She married again, this time to a count, Troilo I de' Rossi, who died in 1521, at which point, she wisely decided to give up on life, and went to her grave sometime around 1522.

The Vault is one of the "Temples" left by "Those Who Came Before", located underneath the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. The exact purpose of the Vault and the other Temples is still unknown. Minerva's message implies that the Vault's contain some sort of assistance or research in saving of a repeat of the Catastrophe that occurred before.

It appears that only a combination of different Pieces of Eden can open it along with specific people seem to be able to enter them. Recognized as a "prophet", Ezio Auditore da Firenze was able to enter the Vault by using the Staff in conjunction with the Apple of Eden, where as Rodrigo Borgia was unable to do so. The floors, walls and pillars of the Vault are covered in glyphs that only appear as Ezio moves near them because he was the prophet.

It was thought by Borgia that the Vault contained God. However, the Vault actually contains an unknown being named "Minerva". All we know is one of the beings "That Came Before". Minerva, who appears through a holographic device, By her own admission, she is not a God, but a member of a highly advanced race that came before humans. Minerva explains that her race had created humans, but soon faced rebellion. Glyphs on the wall confirm this, showing an Egyptian hieroglyphic with a God holding a Piece of Eden as humans charge toward him with weapons.

According to Minerva, the Temples were built by "those who knew to turn away from war," presumably those who did not fight or did not want to fight in the war between the humans and Those Who Came Before. The reason for this was an unknown catastrophe, presumably a large solar flare, that significantly damaged the Earth and killed off most of both species. Those in the Temples worked to protect the world, and Minerva tasks Desmond Miles, speaking to him through Ezio, with locating the other Temples to avert another cataclysm.
Minerva's Speech and Message to Desmond
"When we were still flesh, and our homes still whole, Your kind betrayed us... We Who made you.
We who gave you life. We were strong but you were many, and both of us craved War.
So busy were we with earthly concerns, we failed to notice the heavens,
and by the time we did, the world burned until earth burned until not remained but ash.
It should have ended then and there but we built you in our own image. We built you, to survive,
and so we did. Few were out numbers... your kind and mine. It took sacrifice, strength, compassion,
but we rebuilt, and as life returned to the world we remembered to ensure this tragety could not be repeated.
But now, we are dying, and time will work against us. Truth turned into myth, and legend. What we built,
miss understood. Let my words preserve the messege and make a record of our loss.
But let my word also bring hope. You must find teh other temples. Built by those who knew to turn away
from war. They wanted to protect us, to save us from the fire. If you can find them. If there work can be saved,
so too might this world. Be quick for time grows short and guard against the cross for there are
many that will stand in your way.

It is done. The message has been delivered. We are gone now from this world, all of us. We can do no more... The rest is up to you... Desmond."
Notes
*During Minerva's speech, a glyph of step pyramids with what appears to be a Piece of Eden hovering over it appears on the wall. This could possibly mean that another Temple is located in South America or a ziggurat in Mesopotamia or even the ancient Temple of Borobudur in Indonesia.
