thumb|308px|right&nbsp;

Adam and Eve were the two humans shown in Subject 16's&nbsp;The Truth video. They were humans who rebelled against Those Who Came Before. In the truth video, they are seen running from someone or something. They use free-running to climb a large, futuristic looking building. While Adam and Eve are climbing the building, Eve can be seen holding a stolen Piece of Eden which helps her look through the darkened glass at the human slaves within the building. When they are on top of the building, Eve says: "Adam, I have it!". Adam then says "Eve" and Eve yells:&nbsp;"look out!" when they see someone or something behind them.

Both Adam and Eve seem to have white markings covering their bodies which occasionally glow blue. These lines do not follow blood vessels, indeed, the markings on the back are straight and angular. Their designs look slightly like circuit boards, and their perfectly angular, symmetrical design makes a natural origin less likely. The designs of these lines also are similar to those of the character Minerva, who Ezio encounters in The Vault, which hints that Adam and Eve could be part of the second generation humans that are a result of the first generation humans that procreated with Those Who Came Before e.g. Minerva. Furthermore, Eve appears to have something attached to her left arm.

The Binary Code at end of The Truth video translates as:<br />01000101=E<br />01000100=D<br />01000101=E<br />01001110=N<br />

Since The Truth is a memory recorded by The Animus instead of a video, Subject 16 must be a descendant of Adam, Eve or both. The video proves that the story of Adam and Eve and The Garden of Eden is true. The couple appear to have disobeyed their masters by stealing a Piece of Eden - specifically, one of the Apples which presumably has given them immunity to hypnotism. The theft of the artifact could have been the first act of defiance which caused the conflict as described by Minerva. The 'innocence' of mankind was lost when they realized that the superiority of Those Who Have Gone Before was due to their technological advances. This prompted a war between the two species.
Subject 16's record also shows that the artifacts (the Staff, the Apple, the Pieces of Eden) were tools that the First Civilization used to wield power over humans. Whether the artifacts were made to control humans, or if humans were made to obey the artifacts, is another matter. Even so, some are immune to their effects.

If Adam and Eve were in fact immune to the Pieces of Eden then this would mean that Altair and Ezio were descendants of Adam and Eve. This would also mean that Subject 16 is related to Desmond, possibly his father, brother or someone from the family. This is farther backed by the fact that both are related to Ezio but it could also mean that Ezio had two children and Subject 16 and Desmond were descendants of each of the children.
Richard I of England, or Richard the Lionheart was the king of England in 1191. He is the leader of the Crusader army during the Third Crusade.

Biography
Background
At the beginning of Assassin's Creed, Richard and his army have just taken the port city of Acre. His ultimate goal is to lead his army into the city of Jerusalem so that he can free the holy land in the name of the Christian faith.

With a base of operations established in Acre, the Crusaders prepare to march south. However, Saladin, leader of the Islamic army, currently rules the city of Jerusalem. Stinging from his army’s defeat at Acre, he will not allow Richard to humiliate him again. The Muslim forces are massing in the ruins of Arsuf, intending to ambush the Crusaders and prevent them from reaching Jerusalem. These war manoeuvres have left the rest of the Holy Land wide open. While Richard and Saladin battle one another, the men left to govern in their stead have begun taking advantage of their new found positions of power. Exploitation, manipulation, and provocation rule the day.

Assassin's Creed
King Richard appears in the first Assassin's Creed as the leader of the Crusader Army who is fighting Saladin in the Holy Land, and has decided to attempt to take back Jerusalem for Christianity. Several of his lieutenants are Robert de Sable, Grand Master of the Templars , Garnier de Naplouse, Grand Master of the Hospitaliers, William of Montferrat, Regent lord of Acre and Sibrand, Grand Master of the Knights Teutonic.

Richard the Lionheart makes a brief appearance during two missions in the game. First when he is seen arguing with William, and then, near the end of the game at Arsuf, where he personally confronts Altaïr. He was unaware of the Templars' plan to betray him by using the Piece of Eden and conquering the Holy Land in the Templar name. After Altaïr had assassinated everyone but Robert, Robert attempted to convince Richard to ally himself with Saladin against the Assassins, their common enemies. Altaïr learned of Robert's plans and personally rode to Arsuf to tell Richard of the Templars' betrayal. After a fierce battle with Saracen and Crusader&nbsp;soldiers, he found King Richard, Robert and other elite soldiers of the army. When Altaïr told the king of Robert's treason and Robert denying it, Richard didn't know who to trust after Altaïr asked Richard if he was actually truly surprised by his subjects' plan of betrayal: he wasn't, but he still didn't trust Altaïr. So he let "the Lord" decide who was the one who told the truth, by letting Altaïr and Robert fight each other to see which one has "God's support". Altaïr's efficiency with the Hidden Blade proved superior to the Templars sword skills, and King Richard believed him after. They discussed with each other about the politics and philosophy of war and peace, in which Richard told Altaïr he wasn't ready for peace with Saladin yet, before Altaïr went back to Masyaf to combat Al Mualim.

Characteristics and personality
Richard is a man strong in faith, and rely on God for crucial decisions. He seems however tolerant towards non-believers as Altaïr denying the help of God over his victory against Robert didn't shocked him.

Richard believes that mankind cannot ever change: "violent and unstable" from birth, that permanent peace is impossible though we all wish it. The only way for him to bring peace is to crush the enemy: Saladin and the Saracen.
