Adam and Eve were the two humans shown in [[Subject 16]]'s [[The Truth]] video. They were humans who rebelled against [[Those Who Came Before]]. In the truth video, they are seen running from someone or something. They use free-running to climb a large, futuristic looking building. While Adam and Eve are climbing the building, Eve can be seen holding a stolen [[Piece of Eden]] which helps her look through the darkened glass at the human slaves within the building. When they are on top of the building, Eve says: "Adam, I have it!". Adam then says "Eve" and Eve yells: "Look out!". This could be because they see someone or something behind them, or [[The Apple|the Apple]] gave them power enough to realize they were being watched by [[Subject 16]], as it did with [[Minerva]] in the [[Vault]]. This explains why they did not react until after they had [[The Apple|the Apple]].

Both [[Adam and Eve]] seem to have white markings covering their bodies which occasionally glow blue. These lines do not follow blood vessels, indeed, the markings on the back are straight and angular. Their designs look slightly like circuit boards, and their perfectly angular, symmetrical design makes a natural origin less likely. The designs of these lines also are similar to those of the character [[Minerva]], who [[Ezio]] encounters in The [[Vault]], which hints that Adam and Eve could be part of the second generation humans that are a result of the first generation humans that procreated with [[Those Who Came Before]] e.g. [[Minerva]], which would explain how Adam and Eve appear to be immune to the controlling power of the Apple. Furthermore, Eve appears to have something attached to her left arm.

The Binary Code at end of [[The Truth]] video translates as: 01000101='''E''' 01000100='''D''' 01000101='''E''' 01001110='''N''' 

Since [[The Truth]] is a memory recorded by [[Animus |The Animus]] instead of a video, [[Subject 16]] must be a descendant of Adam, Eve or both. The video proves that the story of Adam and Eve and The Garden of Eden is true. The couple appear to have disobeyed their [[Those Who Have Gone Before |masters]] by stealing a [[Piece of Eden]] - specifically, one of the Apples which presumably has given them immunity to hypnotism. The theft of the artifact could have been the first act of defiance which caused the conflict as described by [[Minerva]]. The 'innocence' of mankind was lost when they realized that the superiority of [[Those Who Have Gone Before]] was due to their technological advances. This prompted a war between the two species.
[[Subject 16]]'s record also shows that the artifacts (the Staff, the Apple, the Pieces of Eden) were tools that the First Civilization used to wield power over humans. Whether the artifacts were made to control humans, or if humans were made to obey the artifacts, is another matter. Even so, some are immune to their effects.

If Adam and Eve were in fact immune to the Pieces of Eden then this would mean that [[Altair]] and [[Ezio]] were descendants of Adam and Eve. This would also mean that [[Subject 16]] is related to [[Desmond]], possibly his father, brother or someone from the family. This is farther backed by the fact that both are related to [[Ezio]] but it could also mean that [[Ezio]] had two children and [[Subject 16]] and [[Desmond]] were descendants of each of the children. Which means that Desmond might also be a descendant of Adam and Eve as well.

'''Subject 16''' was a [[subject]] used by [[Abstergo Industries]] for the [[Animus]] project. He was the predecessor to Subject 17, Desmond Miles. He is related to Desmond, as their DNA matched in Assassin's Creed II. It is also revealed in Assassin's Creed II that he had an ancestor at the Battle of Gettysburg, in the Roman forum and one connected with a Queen Isabella (not certain which one).

==Assassin's Creed==
[[Lucy]] reveals in one of her [[e-mails]] to [[Vidic]] that Subject 16 has Far Eastern origins, as one of his ancestors was "involved in an important event" there. A different e-mail hints that his name is "Neumann". Another email also hints that an ex-employee, Leila Marino, of Abstergo Industries was romantically involved with Subject 16. This, however, could not have been possible during his captivity at Abstergo and must have happened before he was captured.

At the end of Assassin's Creed, due to the bleeding effect of the Animus, [[Desmond Miles|Desmond]] is able to use [[Eagle Vision]] to view many [[cryptic messages]] drawn in blood. Subject 16 states in the triangle-shaped message on the floor that he drained his own body to paint the figures on the floor and walls of the main room where the Animus is located. But had he also used his own blood to paint the wall mural in the sleeping room, he would have bled out - literally - before he finished his work.

The symbols painted on the walls and floors later appear in [[Assassin's Creed II]] as [[Glyphs]].

==Assassin's Creed II==
Subject 16 makes his first vocal appearance in [[Assassin's Creed II]], voicing-over 20 encrypted files that he hacked from Abstergo's main frame. Said files contain what he claims to be "The Truth" about the origins of humanity. The man and woman in [[The Truth|"The Truth" video]] are Adam and Eve, activating, or proclaiming, that they have "the apple" (which is, in fact, one of the [[Piece of Eden|Pieces of Eden]]).

These files, as well as commentary from Lucy, reveal a bit more about the extent of the madness which lead to Subject 16's death: the Bleeding Effect from overusing the [[Animus]]. More specifically, from the sheer amount of time he was forced to spend in the Animus. Lucy said Abstergo forced him to stay in it for days at a time. As such, the number of genetic memories he was forced to unlock overwhelmed him and finally, killing himself, as is implied from the 20th encrypted file (and his final words heard in-game); "Lucy, I can't wait any longer. I am ready to go now.... She sees me raise the knife."

Just a quick note on a couple of the facts in the article. I don't believe Subject 16 could be from a different family off of Altair and share Ezio as an ancestor with Desmond. The break would have had to happen somewhere after Ezio (possibly Ezio himself, especially seeing his ways with women). I also think that the last section of the article - about Subject 16 being a direct descendant of Adam - is a bit pointless. If Adam and Eve truly are the first humans, shouldn't everyone be a direct descendant?

Ezio is directly the Ancestor of S16. The reason Vidic and Lucy did not find the vault with S16 is because he killed himeself before they found it. So they did not know about the Vault. He also died before they found the map of all the Pieces of Eden, therefore they needed Desmond. --[[User:Dragonclaw|Dragonclaw]] 3:11, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Is it possible that Subject 16 was a descendant of one of the other Assassins working with Ezio? Vidic was interested in S16's memories but could not find the vault. Is it not then plausible that the location of the Vault was not located by S16 because his ancestor was not Ezio who in fact did find the Vault? Could his ancestor have been another assassin who's memories were relevant to but not including the location of the Vault? If S16 was a descendant of Ezio then he would have found it because Vidic pushed him much harder than Lucy allowed him to push Desmond. So all in all: Who is the Ancestor of Subject 16?

Ezio is S16's Ancestor. The reason that he does not have the memory of the Vault's location, is because Ezio's child (S16' Next Ancestor but not Desmonds) was conceived before Ezio found the vault. Therefore, the Vault's location would not have been transfered to the child through Genetic memory because Ezio hadn't been there yet. Then, after he went to the vault, he conceived Desmond's ancestor.
