The Merchandise lift is a device available in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It consists of a rope attached to a suspended weight stretching from ground level to the pulley at the top of a beam. The rope is held in place by a lever at ground level. Players can kick the lever, releasing the weight, and grab onto the rope that is pulled up as the weight descends. This allows players to get on top of a building within seconds.

In the Story Mode, lifts appear both in Rome for use by Ezio Auditore, and in Monteriggioni for Desmond Miles and the other modern-day Assassins. Using a lift causes the weight to shatter, and renders the lift unusable until the game is restarted, or a new Sequence is entered. It should also be noted that if the weight falls on top of a guard or civilian, they will be killed; however, you will not be penalized for desynchronization. Killing a guard with the weight will earn you the Trophy/Achievement 'Going Up'.

Lifts also appear as Chase Breakers in Multiplayer mode, and function in the same manner as in Story mode. They are useful for escaping pursuers, or for quickly reaching a target up on the rooftops. Unlike in Story Mode, if one uses the lift in Multiplayer, the weight will slowly rise back up and the lift will become available to others in roughly 3-5 seconds.

Trivia
*The corrupt cardinal in the memory A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing and the Papal Guards in the Liquid Gold Templar Lair and the Aqueducts are the only non-Assassins in singleplayer to use a merchandise lift.
*Lift weights can kill anyone, including Vigilantes and Assassin Apprentices.
*In The Da Vinci Disappearance, there is a trophy/achievement for killing a guard by letting the weight of a merchandise lift fall on a guard.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, several outfits are available to those who complete certain challenges. Once an outfit is unlocked and equipped, it will alter Ezio Auditore's appearance, but, unlike armor, most of the costumes will not affect any other gameplay elements.

Outfits can be unlocked through a variety of methods, which are enumerated below.

Capes
Plain Cape
Available from the beginning of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and has no effect on Notoriety, and is the only cape that can be dyed.

Auditore Cape
This cape is unlocked by completely rebuilding the city of Rome.

Originally handcrafted by Maria Auditore da Firenze in her mourning of a lost child, this cape allows Ezio to show his pride for the Auditore family. It was lost during the Siege of Monteriggioni and given to Rodrigo Borgia's youngest son, Jofré Borgia as a war gift.

Ezio reacquires the cape after rebuilding Rome to 100% when the Assassins stole it from Jofre's collection. It also makes Ezio's notoriety stays at zero while the cape is worn and resets to its original level when removed.

Borgia Cape
The Borgia Cape is unlocked by removing all 101 Borgia flags from Rome.

Functionally identical to the Auditore cape, notoriety stays at zero while the cape is worn and resets to its original level when removed.

Medici Cape
The Medici Cape is unlocked to wear after players sync their game to Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, once they complete the Auditore Mnemonic set. This cape does not affect notoriety and it cannot be dyed.

It can also be found at Monteriggioni while playing with Desmond, however, it can't be used by him.

Venetian Cape
Along with the Medici Cape, the Venetian Cape is also unlocked to wear after players sync their game to Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy, once they complete the Auditore Mnemonic set. This cape does not affect notoriety and it cannot be dyed.

General Appearance
: "Once the basics are covered, Ezio may divert some of his income toward the sartorial elegance that is deserved of a major player in Roman political affairs. The Tailor now offers 15 new clothes and cape dyes, devoid of any gameplay influence and included purely for the pleasure of defining Ezio in your chosen style and aesthetic." - The Complete Official Guide: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Armor of Altaïr
Armor of Altaïr
Unlocked by purchasing on Uplay for 20 Uplay Units.

Being the Grand Master robes of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, the Armor of Altaïr was worn by Ezio Auditore after completing all of the Assassin's Tombs in Assassin's Creed II. In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it is worn in the last Cristina memory, and in the beginning of the game until it is lost in the Siege of Monteriggioni. Although it is says it is the armor, it does not change the defense stats of of Ezio's equipped armour, as it is only a cosmetic item.

Altaïr's Robes
Unlocked by purchasing on Uplay for 20 Uplay Units.

Equipping Altaïr's Robes accesses Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's skin from the Animus databases, though it will not affect Ezio's current equipment, armor settings or the abilities of the cape he was wearing previously. Rather than loading his clothing, the outfit actually loads the model of Altaïr, and it is made visible though the color of his eyes (which are lighter than Ezio's) and the fact that the player is silent during taunts, rather than using Ezio's voice. Altaïr's missing ring finger can also be seen on the character model when this outfit is equipped.

Florentine Noble Attire
Unlocked by purchasing on Uplay for 20 Uplay Units.

The Florentine Noble attire was worn by Ezio Auditore in Florence during the beginning of Assassin's Creed II, before encountering Giovanni's Assassin's Robes in the "Family Heirloom" memory. In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, it is worn during the first Cristina memory. The outfit is made accessible before the Apple of Eden missions when leaving the Animus.

Desmond Miles
Unlocked by attaining 100% Synchronization in Sequence 8.

Purely cosmetic, this skin allows the player to look like Desmond Miles inside the Animus 2.0. The style of walking and free-running is also that of Desmond's.

Raiden Skin
Raiden Skin
The Raiden skin is unlocked by completing every Virtual Training challenge with at least a bronze medal.

This outfit is an homage to the VR-trained cybernetic ninja called Raiden, from Metal Gear Solid. The skin of Raiden in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood is the Cyborg Ninja form of Raiden as seen in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, although Ezio's facial features and hair will still be seen, in place of Raiden's.

Helmschmied Drachen Armor
Helmschmied Drachen Armor

The Helmshmied Drachen Armor is included only with the Codex Edition, the Da Vinci Edition and Amazon pre-order editions of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, though it can also be obtained by purchasing the Da Vinci Disappearance DLC.

Temporary Outfits
Roman Legionary Armor
Worn only in the mission "Exit Stage Right."

French Captain Armor
Worn only in the mission "Trojan Horse" and "Au Revoir."

Borgia Captain Armor
Trivia
*When you unlock a General Appearance outfit, they become available during your next play through.
*The effect of the Auditore Cape in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is the reverse of its effect in Assassin's Creed II.
*Unlike in the game itself, the image of Altaïr's Robes in your inventory depicts Ezio wearing the robes, rather than Altaïr, as seen by his beard. The outfit also does not bear the beak-shaped hood, and shows Ezio wielding Altaïr's short blade, which is missing from its sheath in the game and is unusable.
*The image of Raiden's Outfit depicts Ezio unsheathing Raiden's katana, the High Frequency Blade, although it is not usable or present in the game.
*The Borgia Captain armor itself, though being worn by Ezio, appears red in Eagle Vision.
*The Medici Cape can also be found at Monteriggioni while playing with Desmond, however, it has no real purpose in the game other than being a collectible.
*Diving while wearing the Florentine Attire will cause Ezio to have Desmond's head until he reaches the water surface again.
*The Armor of Brutus uses other capes' effects, but no change is seen.
*Also, attempting to dye the Armor of Brutus cape at a tailor has no effect. If you want to see any other cape or colour, you must change your armour at Ezio's Hideout.
*On the back of Altair's robes, is the sheath for the first short blade Altair obtains. It is covered by the corssbow if it had been bought.
