Mechanics
Will the mechanics be the same as past AC games? Or will they be like Unity SLyfoX999 (talk) 19:30, August 5, 2014 (UTC)

:My bet would be past AC games, particularly Black Flag. It looks to be based on the same engine, so it probably won't come with all the overhauls that Unity is boasting. 19:34, August 5, 2014 (UTC)
An End to Connor?
This is the finale chapter of the keyway saga. As far as we know, there's no other kenway left but Connor. So it's highly possible that we're going to fight Connor at the end of AC:R and he's gonna die. As far as the timeline is concerned, I'm not so sure. A few years after the events of AC3 and in the middle of AC4.

No matter how much you dislike Connor, if he dies here, he wouldn't have had passed on his genes down to Desmond. So I don't think he will.<theproclamation> (talk) 03:46, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

No, I don't think so -unless he had by that point already had an offspring in which case it might happen- but I think that someone who is going to die, with this. I mean we'll kill him, in this game is Adewale since he is supposed to appear (190.45.213.79 05:23, August 13, 2014 (UTC))

I'm not sure at which Timeline you're looking, VectorSierra :s A simple look at the dates will tell you that's not the case; Rogue takes place from 1752 to 1762, roughly thirty years after Black Flag and barely crossing over into AC3s period. During that time, Connor is an infant, so I doubt he'll appear in the game. Adéwalé and Haytham, sure, but Connor? Probably not. 06:31, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

Time period and relation to the overall story
I can't help but wondering, given rogue being situated temporally between AC3 and AC4 and what we know of the character so far, if this doesn't deal directly with the purge of assassins that happened while Achilles was still mentor of the colonial assassins. (I believe it was touched on in 3, but I don't remember specifics).

What do you all think, and what else can we infer based on what we know so far? --mortekai--

:I would concur, but the problem is that the Purge of the Colonial Assassins takes place in 1763; Rogue only goes up to 1761. So I doubt we'll see the destruction of the colonial brotherhood itself, but it's possible (maybe Shay will go after some high-ranked Assassins to weaken/destabilize the colonial guild). Right now though, I get the feeling Rogue is going to be out something else. We'll have to wait and see, I guess :P 08:07, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

I would hope ubisoft wouldn't be so cruel as to give us the vague description, then a game set almost exactly during that time, in the area, and not touch on it. But that's me being hopeful. Given the info you put up, it would seem that we won't be playing it, at the very least. I still would love to get some more info, though. --mortekai--

Hood?
So apparently the iconic outfit that Shay wears on the cover of the game doesn't actually exist; there isn't a hood.

At least from what I can tell there isn't.

The Abstergo Entertainment research analyst, known amongst their fellow researchers as "Noob" due to their recent arrival, is an employee of Abstergo Entertainment assigned to the Sample 17 Project. They were tasked with reliving the memories of the pirate Edward Kenway, in order to gain footage for a product that would feature him. On their first day of work, they started a diary detailing their experience at the company.

Not long after their induction, the employee was enlisted by John to hack computers, Animi, security cameras and servers around Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal facility, in order to obtain information on Abstergo's actions for the Assassins. The employee was also charged with passing on this information to Rebecca Crane and Shaun Hastings, who routinely collected it at Shaun's coffee stand in the building's lobby. While the employee first believed these activities to be innocuous, they soon became suspicious of John, regarding him as "mentally ill".

Eventually, the hacking activity was discovered at the same time that the company's Chief Creative Officer, Olivier Garneau, went missing. In response, Olivier's stand-in, Melanie Lemay, reluctantly imprisoned the analyst and several other employees in bunkers in the basement, where they would continue their work until the hacker could be identified.

Subsequently, John raised the employee's security clearance so that they could leave their bunker, and instructed them to hack the main server in order to cover their tracks. Unbeknownst to the employee, following John's instructions activated a program designed to transfer Juno's consciousness into another body; unfortunately for John, Juno was not yet strong enough to maintain a physical form, and this aspect of the plan failed.

John then entered the employee's bunker while they were using the Animus and revealed himself to be a Sage, a reincarnation of Aita. He attempted to poison the employee, weakening them enough that their body could host Juno. However, he was shortly caught and killed by Abstergo's security guards.

The employee later woke in Melanie's office, where she apologized for imprisoning them. She claimed that while she originally believed them to be the hacker, information recovered from John's computer proved that he was responsible. After Melanie revealed the completed trailer for Devils of the Caribbean as a token of good will, the analyst was allowed to return to work.

While the analyst headed back to their Animus, Shaun and Rebecca contacted them, apologized for getting them into such a mess with John, and offered to recompense the employee if they continued to obtain information on Abstergo Entertainment.

Trivia
*As stated by developers, the research analyst is meant to be the embodiment of the player themselves in the Assassin's Creed universe, and thus their identity is left ambiguous.
