'''Carlotta Moro '''is the ex-wife of [[Dante Moro]] and the widow of [[Marco Barbarigo]]. Carlotta became Marco Barabarigo's object of desire, causing Marco to plot a hit upon her husband Dante for his death, which failed. The attempt on his life, however, left Dante severely brain damaged to the extent that he was left with a mind equivalent to that of a child. Marco exploited this by tricking Dante to annul his marriage with Carlotta and therefore become his wife. Marco then enslaved Dante as his personal bodyguard.

Carlotta can be briefly seen in the [[Animus]] records video of [[Marco Barbarigo]], also her voice is heard in the Documents section of the Animus' database, after a letter [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] had recovered after Dante's assassination. This letter reveals that her love for Dante never wavered, and she promised to hitch a plan for them to be reunited, which was ultimately thwarted by his death at the hands of Ezio.

'''Dante Moro''' (1460–1486) was a [[Templar]] and personal bodyguard of Marco Barbarigo. He was previously the captain of the Venetian city [[Guards|guard]] and an heir to one of the most prestigious families in Venice.

Marco desired Dante's wife [[Carlotta Moro|Carlotta]], so he hired a hit on Dante. Dante was stabbed three times in the body and once in the head. While he miraculously survived, Dante was left with severe brain damage and the mind of a child. Marco then tricked Dante into annulling the marriage and becoming Marco's personal bodyguard.

[[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio Auditore]] first encounters him in Venice where Marco, [[Silvio Barbarigo]] and [[Carlo Grimaldi]] are plotting to kill the [[Giovanni Mocenigo|Doge]]. They next met in the [[Carnevale]] with Silvio, where he fought Ezio hand to hand to win a [[golden mask]], yet Ezio's skills proved better, and Dante lost. He and Silvio cheated to win the mask and prevent Ezio from entering Marco's private party, however Ezio managed to distract Dante long enough to [[pickpocketing|pickpocket]] the mask from him. Dante arrived at the party, along with other guards, and tried to look for Ezio, but failed, resulting in Marco's death at Ezio's hand. Dante subsequently fled to [[L'Arsenale]] with Silvio. Dante was killed along with Silvio Barbarigo while boarding a ship. Dante revealed that they were headed for [[Cyprus]], but died before he could say anything else. After the assassination of Dante Moro, Ezio recovers a letter intended for Dante from his ex-wife Carlotta. It read:

*Dante wields an [[Axe]], and fights much like a [[Brute]].
*Despite [[Antonio]] telling you not to do so, the player will not fail the mission if they kill Dante after stealing the mask from him, but he will still appear at the party later.
*If the player is confronted by Dante after stealing the mask, the player cannot kill him, nor disarm him (unless you use a Two-Handed weapon's Special Attack), even if his health bar is all the way down. This is also the case after the party where Marco is killed, him being located on a bridge nearby. The only way to defeat him is to make him fall in the water. Even if the player does so, in the next missions he will be alive.
*In the [[Assassin's Creed: Renaissance|novel]], Ezio shoots Dante in the face with the [[pistol]] on the deck of the Templar ship. The text of Carlotta's letter to Dante is reproduced in it, as well.
*Dante differs from the other assassination targets in the game, as he is not deliberately a Templar. Simple-minded, Dante would not be in control of his actions and therefore can not be held accountable for them. Assassinating him would therefore be breaking the first tenet of [[the Creed|The Creed]], but Ezio is not bound by the tenets until he is inducted into the order.
*Dante is the only assassination target not to have a portrait in [[Ezio's room]], probably because his brain damage makes him unaware of his actions and not really a Templar. As well, he was only a consequential casualty of Silvio's assassination.

*An easy way to kill Dante while on the boat is to walk onto the thin gangplank, and when he follows you, either drop into the water, or attack him until he falls in, killing him.
*The database entry for the [[Madonna dell'Orto]] states that Dante was the only son of the Doge, Cristoforo Moro, who supposedly disowned him in 1468 after losing his title as Venetian Captain of the Guard. This would not be possible, as Dante would only have been eight years old in 1468.

Once a friend of his bodyguard and attendant, [[Dante Moro]], Marco became attracted to Moro's wife [[Carlotta Moro|Carlotta]] and orchestrated an attempt on his former friend's life. Dante escaped his killers, but his wounds left his brain damaged. Marco made Dante renounce his marriage and afterwards he married Carlotta.<ref name="Assassin's Creed II">''[[Assassin's Creed II]]''</ref>

Like most of the Barbarigo family, Marco became involved with "''the Spaniard''" [[Rodrigo Borgia]] and his plot to take over the Venetian government. In 1485, after the assassination of his relative [[Emilio Barbarigo]], Marco, [[Dante Moro]], [[Silvio Barbarigo]] and [[Carlo Grimaldi]] met with Rodrigo Borgia to plan the assassination of Doge Giovanni Mocenigo. Unbeknownst to them, the [[Assassins|Assassin]] [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] eavesdropped the meeting and discovered the Barbarigos' allegiance.

After the deaths of Doge [[Giovanni Mocenigo]] and [[Carlo Grimaldi]], Marco was appointed Doge himself. Declaring Ezio an "enemy of Venice" for the murdering of Doge Mocenigo, Marco hid in the [[Palazzo Ducale]], never to come out. However, Ezio managed to infiltrate Marco's private [[carnevale]] party. When Marco finally showed up on his boat to deliver a speech, Ezio took his chance to assassinate Marco, after which Marco's brother [[Agostino Barbarigo]] became Doge.

In 1476, Vieri and Ezio, who had become rivals, met on the [[Ponte Vecchio]] in Florence, where they and their friends had a street fight. Despite initiating the brawl by throwing a rock at Ezio's face, Vieri did not participate in the actual fighting, and escaped when he realized that his allies had lost.<ref name="Assassin's Creed II" />

Later that year, Vieri and Ezio met again when the latter was escaping Florence with [[Maria Auditore da Firenze|his mother]] and [[Claudia Auditore da Firenze|sister]] after having assassinated [[Uberto Alberti]]. Vieri was a cruel man who liked nothing more than to win, in any variety of contests. He would call for competitions against other noble families, which were always rigged for his victory. In the rare occasions where he would lose, he would invite the winner and his family to dinner and subsequently poison them by serving them a meal "''to die for.''"<ref name="Assassin's Creed II" />

He would do anything to get what he wanted, such as rape, hire thugs to fight for him, and outright kill people who stood in his way. He was also a coward, and would run away when his plans failed.<ref name="Assassin's Creed II" />

As revealed in the letter from [[Fra Giocondo]] that Mario Auditore took from Vieri's body after his death, Vieri always sought attention from his father, wishing for him to recognize his abilities and devotion to the Templars. *Strangely, Vieri's birth year is listed to be 1454, whereas his father's is 1444. There is likely an error in the database with either one or both of their ages, considering the impossiblity to have a son at age 10.
*In most cutscenes, Vieri speaks in an Italian accent but sometimes, such as when he ambushes Ezio and his family on their way to Monteriggioni, he says "''My condolences for the loss of your father and brothers!"'' in a more American accent.
