Marco Barbarigo (1413-1485) was the cousin of [[Silvio Barbarigo]], the older brother of [[Agostino Barbarigo]] and a [[Templar]]. He belongs to a rich and powerful family. A tyrant since a young age Marco was used to getting whatever he wanted.

Marco's wife, Carlotta, was previously married to his personal bodyguard and close friend [[Dante Moro]]. Marco orchestrated an attempt on Dante's life, which failed to kill him, but leads to brain damage. Now with the mind of a child Marco had Dante annul the marriage and is kept as Marco's personal slave.

== Assassins Creed 2 ==
Marco and Dante are first seen at a meeting in Venice with Silvio and [[Carlo Grimaldi]]. The meeting oddly takes place outside in brode daylight where anyone can hear and follow them(they are walking all over Venice). They are followed by Ezio throughout the entire meeting (unknownly to them). They plot to kill the current Doge so that Marco can take his place and bring more power to the Templars. Their plan works the Doge is poisoned and dies shortly afterward. A few years later Ezio returns to Venice to kill Marco where it is learned that he never leaves the palace for any such reason at all except for the carnival (which coincidently starts the same day Ezio returned to Venice). After completing the games and getting the Golden mask he is seen on a barge making a speech and is killed by Ezio. He shortly dies afterward.  

He is related to [[Emilio Barbarigo]].

'''Mario Auditore da Firenze''' is the uncle of [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio]]. He was trained with his [[Giovanni Auditore da Firenze|brother]] to become an Assassin, but unlike his brother who likes infiltration and stealth, he prefers combat and group maneuvers. He has become a [[wikipedia:Condottieri|condottiere]] leading a sizable group of mercenaries to fight against the [[Templars]] (and their interests) hidden among the local nobility. He proves to be a formidable ally of his nephew, Ezio (who he refers to as 'nipote', which means nephew in Italian) throughout the course of the game, and trains him to improve his fighting skills. He is shown to be extremely proud of his Assassin heritage and storms off when Ezio announces his decision to take Maria and Claudia to Spain.

*After rescuing Ezio from Vieri de Pazzi, Mario identifies himself by saying "It's-a me, Mario!" This is possibly a reference to Nintendo's videogame mascot, [[wikipedia:Mario|Mario]], and his first and most famous spoken line.
*He has a scar on the left side of his face and has possibly lost the ability to use his left eye.
*If you look closely, on Mario's left shoulder pad, the logo of the Assassins is embroidered/stitched onto the leather.
