Leonius was a member of the [[Italy|Italian]] Assassin Guild. The Emperor of the Roman Empire, Gaius Julius Caesar, commonly referred to as Caligula, was a tyrant and the land had to be freed of him. On 24 January, 41 A.D. Leonius stabbed Caligula, killing him.<br />

During the [[Renaissance]], Leonius' sarcophagus was moved to [[Venice]], Italy, in the [[Santa Maria della Visitazione]]. The Assassin [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] explored Leonius' tomb and took the hidden seal from his sarcophagus, which would help him to obtain [[Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad]]'s armor.<br />
