I have spent days with the artifact now. Or has it been weeks? Months? I can no longer be certain...&lt;br /&gt;
The others come from time to time - offering food or distraction. They say I should separate myself from these studies... Malik has even suggested I abandon them entirely. But I am not yet ready to turn away. This Apple of Eden will be understood. It must be...&lt;br /&gt;
Is it a weapon? Is it a catalogue? Is it somehow both? &amp;quot;He who increaseth knowledge, increaseth sorrow...&amp;quot; The philosophy of such a statement I can understand... But for it to be truth - literally true? A society that waged wars with ideas and information in place of steel and swords...&lt;br /&gt;
Its function is simple. Elementary, even. Dominion. Control. But the process... the methods and means it employs... THESE are fascinating. Those subjected to its glow are promised all that they desire. It asks only one thing in return: complete and total obedience. And who can truly refuse? It is temptation incarnate.&lt;br /&gt;
I remember my own moment of weakness when confronted by Al Mualim, my confidence shaken by his words. He, who had been like a father, was now revealed to be my greatest enemy. Just the briefest flicker of doubt was all he needed to creep into my mind. But I vanquished his phantoms - restored my self confidence - and sent him from this world. I freed myself. But now I wonder... Did I really? For here I sit - desperate to understand that which I swore to destroy.&lt;br /&gt;
This is why: The Apple has a tale to tell. I sense the flickers of something - great and dangerous... We are all at risk. It is my duty to do something about it. I must not - cannot - turn away until I&#039;ve found the truth.&lt;br /&gt;

What follows are the three great ironies of the Assassin Order: (1) Here we seek to promote peace, but murder is our means. (2) Here we seek to open the minds of men, but require obedience to a master and set of rules. (3) Here we seek to reveal the danger of blind faith, yet we are practitioners ourselves.&lt;br /&gt;
I have no satisfactory answer to these charges, only possibilities... Do we bend the rules in service to a greater good? And if we do, what does it say of us? That we are liars? That we are frauds? That we are weak? Every moment is spent wrestling with these contradictions and in spite of all the years I&#039;ve had to reflect, still I can find no suitable answer... And I fear that one may not exist.&lt;br /&gt;
Nothing is true. Everything is permitted. Does our creed provide the answer, then? That one may be two things - opposite in every way - simultaneously? And why not? Am I not proof? We of noble intentions, possessed of barbaric means? We who celebrate the sanctity of life and then promptly take it from those we deem our enemies?&lt;br /&gt;

Our work will be all the more complicated for it. Already there are rumors of a movement on Cyprus. I will have to investigate...&lt;br /&gt;

Why do our instincts insist on violence? I have studies the interactions between different species. The innate desire to survive seems to demand the death of the other. Why can they not stand hand in hand? So many believe the world was created by the hand of a divine power - but I see only the designs of a madman, bent on celebrating destruction and desperation. Our origins seem chaotic. Unintended. Purpose and being instilled solely by the passage of time. Imposed first by nature - and later men...&lt;br /&gt;

Over time, any sentence uttered long and loud enough becomes fixed. Becomes a truth. Provided, of course, you can outlast the dissent and silence your opponents. But should you succeed - and remove all challengers - then what remains is, by default, now true.&lt;br /&gt;

Is it truth in some objective sense? No. But how does one ever achieve an objective point of view? The answer is you don&#039;t. It is literally, physically impossible. There are too many variables. Too many fields and formulae to consider. We can try, of course. We can inch closer and closer to a revelation. But we&#039;ll never reach it. Not ever...&lt;br /&gt;

And so I have realized, that so long as The Templars exist, they will attempt to bend reality to their will. They recognize there is no such thing as an absolute truth - or if there is - we are hopelessly underequipped to recognize it. And so in its place, they seek to create their own explanation. It is the guiding principle of their so-named &amp;quot;New World Order&amp;quot;; To reshape existence in their own image. It is not about artifacts. Not about men. These are merely tools. It&#039;s about concepts. Clever of them. For how does one wage war against a concept? &lt;br /&gt;

It is the perfect weapon. It lacks a physical form yet can alter the world around us in numerous, often violent ways. You cannot kill a creed. Even if you kill all of its adherents, destroy all of its writings - these are a reprieve at best. Some one, some day, will rediscover it. Reinvent it. I believe that even we, the Assassins, have simply re-discovered an Order that predates the Old Man himself... &lt;br /&gt;

Al Mualim spoke of Jesus as a real person - a mortal who had mastered the arts of manipulation.&amp;amp;nbsp; But what if he was wrong?&amp;amp;nbsp; If these men are real - and if they have walked amongst us many times before - does it mean they&#039;ll come again?&amp;amp;nbsp; Perhaps they are here now?&amp;amp;nbsp; So many questions, and every day, even more...&lt;br /&gt;

Man seeks dominion over all that he encounters. I suppose it a natural tendency for us to aspire towards mastery of our surroundings. But this should not include other human beings. Every day more and more are pressed into service - by deception or by force. Others, though not so firmly imprisoned, are made to feel as if their lives are worthless. I have seen the ways in which men persecute women. Heard the cruel words hurled at those who come here from other lands. Watched as those who believe or act differently are made to suffer...&lt;br /&gt;

We discuss such things often - watching as we do from the spires of Masyaf. What can be done to stop this? To encourage tolerance and equality? Some days we speak of education, believing that knowledge will free us from immorality. But as I walk the streets and see slaves sent off to auction - my heart grows cold. When I see the husband hurl abuses and stones at his wife, insisting she exists only to serve him - my fists clench. And when I see children torn from their parents so that another man might profit - sent off to suffer beneath the desert sun and die...&lt;br /&gt;

...On these days, I do not think that dialogue will make a difference. On these days, I can think only of how the perpetrators need to die.&lt;br /&gt;

I contemplate the consequences of these visions: are they images of things to come - or simply the potential for what might be? Can we influence the outcome? Dare we try? And in so doing, do we merely ensure that which we&#039;ve seen?&lt;br /&gt;

I am torn - as always - between action and inaction - unclear as to which - if either - will make a difference. Am I even meant to make a difference? Still, I keep this journal. Is that not an attempt to change - or perhaps guarantee - what I have seen?&lt;br /&gt;

If there is one thing I know for certain, it is that men do not learn by being told. Instead they must be shown. They must make the connections themselves. I have studied the ancient pagan faiths that came before this more recent obsession with a single, divine creator. They seem to have focused more on the fundamental forces at play in the world around us and less on arbitrary moral rules...&lt;br /&gt;

The sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening. The tides ebb and flow. Grass grows, withers, dies, and then in time, emerges from the ground once more. The air turns warm then cools and back again. Some hidden energy keeps us fitted to the ground and pulls us back when we attempt to leave it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Each of these movements was represented before by a god or goddess. Each force given face, but recognized as something distinct and powerful. Which is not to say there were not connections between these forces - a pantheon of individual spirits - of rules. Invisible hands guiding the progress of the world around us.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And so here there was an attempt to categorize, study, explain, and understand the way things work - even if it was flawed. But no more. Now we are asked to succumb to a far more simplified explanation. How naive to believe there might be a single answer to every question. Every mystery. That there exists a lone divine light which rules over all. They say it is a light that brings truth and love. I say it is a light that blinds us - and forces us to stumble about in ignorance.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I long for the day when men turn away from invisible monsters and once more embrace a more rational view of the world. But these new religions are so convenient - and promise such terrible punishment should one reject them - I worry that fear shall keep us stuck to what is surely the greatest lie ever told.&lt;br /&gt;

But even this promise is insufficient. Always it holds one more gift to give. I must refrain. So it shall be sealed. We will take it to the island - once theirs, now ours. There is a treasury there - hidden well - and it shall have to suffice. Risky to separate myself from the artifact that others may discover it. Riskier still to keep it close. In time I will be tempted. I am weak. We all are. Who wouldn&#039;t be? Oh, the things I have seen... The tale is here - inside the text. Not between the lines but beneath them. Where only our eyes might peer. Go and see it for yourself. That you might succeed where I and the others have failed. Time marches on - bringing with it new discoveries and developments. And so at least one day the doorway might be opened and the message delivered. They will have their prophet.&lt;br /&gt;

==Description==&lt;br /&gt;
The Codex of Altaïr was a document created and maintained by [[Altaïr Ibn-La&#039;Ahad]] sometime after he had recovered and first experienced the [[Piece of Eden]]. He considers the knowledge obtained as a &#039;necessary evil&#039;. Within its pages were many philosophical observations as well as strategic and technological advancements. His main motivation in creating the document was to help him understand and document what the Pieces of Eden were exactly, as well as to serve as a resource for future sons of his Order. Mentioned in its pages alongside Altaïr&#039;s multiple philosophical insights, are his incidents of giving into temptation, and peering into the Apple on multiple occasions. He does this mainly out of fear, fear for his Order and mankind&#039;s ability to utilize free will, what he sees only reassures him of the need to use the apple for his own means. In doing so he is able to craft new alloys and lightweight materials, make several advancements to the mechanics of the housing of the hidden blade, as well as being the in-game canon inventor of black powder and the miniaturized gun within the hidden blade. Altaïr ultimately regrets doing this, as peering into the future has revealed to him no changes in the ultimate fate of humanity. Altaïr also struggles with the temptations of the Apple, often contemplating misusing it, which eventually leads him to leave the Apple of Eden on the island of Cyprus sometime during his mid-late life.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Altaïr makes multiple references to an unseen threat other than the Templars. he also details his observations of the warlord Genghis Khan&#039;s conquests, fearing he is a Templar conspirator and sensing a Piece of Eden Altaïr quickly prepares a mission to the near east to investigate, although he is ripe with age at this point and can only act as an advisor to the young assassins he has tasked with the work. It is not known what became of this, only that all the evidence points to Altaïr giving the codex to the team of or lone assassins tasked with investigating Genghis Khan.&lt;br /&gt;

It is possible that the statue dedicated to the assassin that shot Khan&#039;s horse is, in fact, one of Altair&#039;s sons.&lt;br /&gt;

Ezio is able to use a variety of weapons including two [[Hidden Blade|hidden blades]], allowing him to eliminate two enemies simultaneously. Combat is also available with the hidden blade, as when countering an enemy, Ezio will kill the enemy, whether by jabbing repeatedly in the chest/stomach, or stabbing in the head. He can also steal (and use) several enemy weapons such as axes, hammers, maces, spears, halberds and two different sword types (one- and two-handed). Ezio is also able to use Da Vinci&#039;s flying machine in some parts of the game, gaining altitude from fires set throughout the city by his allies. Ezio will gain many upgrades from Da Vinci on his wrist gauntlet like a wheel lock firearm concealed near his left hidden blade, and poison needle. Ezio possesses the ability to use [[Eagle Vision]] while moving. He can visit Blacksmiths to purchase weapons and armors including Helmschmeid and Metal Plate, or tailors to customize the colors of his clothing. After obtaining all six seals from the Assassin&#039;s Tombs, Ezio can open the locked gate to [[Altair&#039;s Armor]], created by Altair after the defeat of Al-Mualim. It is easily the best armor available in the game, giving much more health and resistance points than any prior suit or piece, and it is unbreakable. &lt;br /&gt;

The &#039;&#039;&#039;Assassins&#039;&#039;&#039;, also known as the &#039;&#039;&#039;Hashshashin&#039;&#039;&#039;, are an organized Order of Assassins, who are in a constant low-scale war with their greatest adversaries: the [[Knights Templar]]. The order has existed over at least a millenium, including the [[Assassin&#039;s Creed|Third Crusade]], the [[Assassin&#039;s Creed 2|Renaissance]], and even lasting into the year 2012. The order believes in a firm creed of values that strictly govern their way of life, consisting of three [[tenets]]: stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent, hide in plain sight, and to never compromise the brotherhood. The tenets are lived by daily in the fight for &amp;quot;peace in all things&amp;quot;. The Assassins carry out their duties through political strategic assassination, and by doing so, potential threats to peace will be forever suppressed. &lt;br /&gt;

Through their work, Assassins could be easily looked at as political keepers of peace. Fighting on behalf of the people who do not possess the abilities, or better put, resources to speak out against the men in power who harm them. Assassins speak to these men of corruption for them, by introducing them to the sharp edge of a [[Hidden Blade|blade]]. By doing so, the people are freed from the shackles of their oppression. Even though the Assassins fight for the people, they are feared, because no matter how you look at it, killing is killing. The only way to truly justify it is self-defense, if in fact that&#039;s what it truly was. The Assassins were most feared due to the terrifying reputation for taking life in public. Creating the atmosphere of it not being safe to commit ill acts under the sun spreads fear amongst their enemies, never knowing when they may fall to an enemy who they can&#039;t see or hear. &lt;br /&gt;

Assassins possessed a specific weapon most efficient for assassinations, it was the Hidden Blade. A single thrust from this weapon could change the course of the Holy Land&#039;s future, as well as history. Such power could easily go to a blade hand&#039;s mind, causing him to lift himself above others knowing he could change history. But the devotion to their cause (peace in all things) and the knowledge of the &amp;quot;Assassins Creed&amp;quot; provided the guidance necessary to detour them from such thoughts. This was not always the case. In order to have a precise impact caused by an assasssination, the Assassins possessed extensive political knowlege, always intune with the ever-changing politics surrounding the empires of the Holy Land. They used this to decide whose death would most benefit the land. &lt;br /&gt;

Obtaining information was done by stationing agents within the cities to keep an eye on their actions. When deployed on missions, elite master assassins or blade hands were the ones responsible for carrying out public assassinations. They worked alone in the field, usually disguised as holy scholars or other suitable images. When stationed in a city, the Assassins would spend an immense amount of time getting acquainted with their environment and learning where and when it would be best to strike at their marked target. The actual strike itself took place in public. By performing the murder in the public&#039;s eye, the Assassins knew without a doubt that news and information about the assassination would spread quickly amongst the people, and those possibly tied to the one assassinated, effectively spreading fear and disrupting the chain of command targeted by the Assassins. &lt;br /&gt;

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we&#039;ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
In a sense we&#039;ve come to our nation&#039;s capital to cash a check. When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the &amp;quot;unalienable Rights&amp;quot; of &amp;quot;Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.&amp;quot; It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked &amp;quot;insufficient funds.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we&#039;ve come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God&#039;s children.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro&#039;s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. And those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. And there will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
But there is something that I must say to my people, who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice: In the process of gaining our rightful place, we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred. We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again, we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We cannot walk alone.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And as we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We cannot turn back.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There are those who are asking the devotees of civil rights, &amp;quot;When will you be satisfied?&amp;quot; We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the negro&#039;s basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their self-hood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating: &amp;quot;For Whites Only.&amp;quot; We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until &amp;quot;justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.&amp;quot;¹&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. And some of you have come from areas where your quest -- quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive. Go back to Mississippi, go back to Alabama, go back to South Carolina, go back to Georgia, go back to Louisiana, go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.&lt;br /&gt;

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: &amp;quot;We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

The &#039;&#039;&#039;Assassins&#039;&#039;&#039;, also known as the &#039;&#039;&#039;Hashshashin&#039;&#039;&#039;, are an organized Order of Assassins, who are in a constant low-scale war with their greatest adversaries: the [[Knights Templar]]. The order has existed over at least a millenium, including the [[Assassin&#039;s Creed|Third Crusade]], the [[Assassin&#039;s Creed 2|Renaissance]], and even lasting into the year 2012. The order believes in a firm creed of values that strictly govern their way of life, consisting of three [[tenets]]: stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent, hide in plain sight, and to never compromise the brotherhood. The tenets are lived by daily in the fight for &amp;quot;peace in all things&amp;quot;. The Assassins carry out their duties through political strategic assassination, and by doing so, potential threats to peace will be forever suppressed. &lt;br /&gt;

Through their work, Assassins could be easily looked at as political keepers of peace. Fighting on behalf of the people who do not possess the abilities, or better put, resources to speak out against the men in power who harm them. Assassins speak to these men of corruption for them, by introducing them to the sharp edge of a [[Hidden Blade|blade]]. By doing so, the people are freed from the shackles of their oppression. Even though the Assassins fight for the people, they are feared, because no matter how you look at it, killing is killing. The only way to truly justify it is self-defense, if in fact that&#039;s what it truly was. The Assassins were most feared due to the terrifying reputation for taking life in public. Creating the atmosphere of it not being safe to commit ill acts under the sun spreads fear amongst their enemies, never knowing when they may fall to an enemy who they can&#039;t see or hear. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Assassins possessed a specific weapon most efficient for assassinations, it was the Hidden Blade. A single thrust from this weapon could change the course of the Holy Land&#039;s future, as well as history. Such power could easily go to a blade hand&#039;s mind, causing him to lift himself above others knowing he could change history. But the devotion to their cause (peace in all things) and the knowledge of the &amp;quot;Assassins Creed&amp;quot; provided the guidance necessary to detour them from such thoughts. This was not always the case. In order to have a precise impact caused by an assasssination, the Assassins possessed extensive political knowlege, always intune with the ever-changing politics surrounding the empires of the Holy Land. They used this to decide whose death would most benefit the land. &lt;br /&gt;

Obtaining information was done by stationing agents within the cities to keep an eye on their actions. When deployed on missions, elite master assassins or blade hands were the ones responsible for carrying out public assassinations. They worked alone in the field, usually disguised as holy scholars or other suitable images. When stationed in a city, the Assassins would spend an immense amount of time getting acquainted with their environment and learning where and when it would be best to strike at their marked target. The actual strike itself took place in public. By performing the murder in the public&#039;s eye, the Assassins knew without a doubt that news and information about the assassination would spread quickly amongst the people, and those possibly tied to the one assassinated, effectively spreading fear and disrupting the chain of command targeted by the Assassins. &lt;br /&gt;

In 1191, during the Third Crusade, the Assassins Order has its stronghold in the fortress of [[Masyaf]]. It is the Third Crusade and low-scale war with the Templar&#039;s that Altair must find wisdom within himself from the &amp;quot;Assassins Creed&amp;quot; in order to accomplish the assassinations appointed for his redemption. While not much is known of the plot yet, it has been confirmed that the player will assume the role of a young nobleman-turned-assassin named [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]]. Ezio is a descendant of [[Altaïr]] and an ancestor to [[Desmond Miles|Desmond]], the protagonists from &#039;&#039;Assassin&#039;s Creed&#039;&#039;. He is shown to have dual assassin&#039;s blades and a colorful attire, to fit the era. The game is set to take place in Renaissance Italy, during the [[wikipedia:15th century|15th century]], approximately 300 years after the first game. The story in the Renaissance could quite possibly begin with Ezio watching his father and others (possibly other family members) executed by the hands of the Templars, directly or indirectly. This event fuels Ezio&#039;s quest for vengeance and will eventually lead to revelations that will change what you thought you knew about Assassin&#039;s Creed. From what was revealed from the short films, Ezio will pick up where his father left off, as his father was also an Assassin&amp;amp;nbsp;and it&#039;s his uniform Ezio will wear.&lt;br /&gt;

The 2012 setting will also be returning for the sequel, along with the character [[Lucy Stillman]] from the first Assassin&#039;s Creed. Lucy will help Desmond escape Abstergo to an Assassin secret hideout where the [[Animus]] will be waiting for them. Danny Wallace will voice the character [[Shaun Hastings]], a historian and possible Assassin who will help and teach Desmond about the time period and enemies he is dealing with.&lt;br /&gt;

On January 22 2009, it was confirmed by [[Ubisoft]] that &#039;&#039;Assassin&#039;s Creed II&#039;&#039; was in production, but no details were revealed. A promotional video was released by Ubisoft on April 6 showing a map of Italy, some hidden blade designs, and DaVinci&#039;s flying machine on a scroll. On the official site after the teaser is viewed a symbol is given to print and show infront of a webcam. Doing this will unlock a picture displayed on the site. 4 of the 5 symbols have been given by Ubisoft, and the other was found by a fan. Later, on April 10, Game Informer magazine released details on the game, as well as pictures of Ezio. There are about 240 team members, some of these members were sent to Italy, traveling through Venice, Florence, Tuscany, and Rome. ScrewAttack also released a video with some of the pictures from the magazine. In early May, Ubisoft has stated that they are putting full emphasis on the game and that 450 team members are now working on the title. 75% of the original developers for the original game are now working on the the second.&lt;br /&gt;

The &#039;&#039;&#039;Assassins&#039;&#039;&#039;, also known as the &#039;&#039;&#039;Hashshashin&#039;&#039;&#039;, are an organized Order of Assassins, who are in a constant low-scale war with their greatest adversaries: the [[Knights Templar]]. The order believes in a firm creed of values that strictly govern their way of life, consisting of three [[tenets]]: stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent, hide in plain sight, and to never compromise the brotherhood. The tenets are lived by daily in the fight for &amp;quot;peace in all things&amp;quot;. The Assassins carry out their duties through political strategic assassination, and by doing so, potential threats to peace will be forever suppressed. &lt;br /&gt;

Through their work, Assassins could be easily looked at as political keepers of peace. Fighting on behalf of the people who do not possess the abilities, or better put, resources to speak out against the men in power who harm them. Assassins speak to these men of corruption for them, by introducing them to the sharp edge of a [[Hidden Blade|blade]]. By doing so, the people are freed from the shackles of their oppression. Even though the Assassins fight for the people, they are feared, because no matter how you look at it, killing is killing. The only way to truly justify it is self-defense, if in fact that&#039;s what it truly was. The Assassins were most feared due to the terrifying reputation for taking life in public. Creating the atmosphere of it not being safe to commit ill acts under the sun spreads fear amongst their enemies, never knowing when they may fall to an enemy who they can&#039;t see or hear. &lt;br /&gt;

Assassins possessed a specific weapon most efficient for assassinations, it was the Hidden Blade. A single thrust from this weapon could change the course of the Holy Land&#039;s future, as well as history. Such power could easily go to a blade hand&#039;s mind, causing him to lift himself above others knowing he could change history. But the devotion to their cause (peace in all things) and the knowledge of the &amp;quot;Assassins Creed&amp;quot; provided the guidance necessary to detour them from such thoughts. This was not always the case. In order to have a precise impact caused by an assasssination, the Assassins possessed extensive political knowlege, always intune with the ever-changing politics surrounding the empires of the Holy Land. They used this to decide whose death would most benefit the land. &lt;br /&gt;

Obtaining information was done by stationing agents within the cities to keep an eye on their actions. When deployed on missions, elite master assassins or blade hands were the ones responsible for carrying out public assassinations. They worked alone in the field, usually disguised as holy scholars or other suitable images. When stationed in a city, the Assassins would spend an immense amount of time getting acquainted with their environment and learning where and when it would be best to strike at their marked target. The actual strike itself took place in public. By performing the murder in the public&#039;s eye, the Assassins knew without a doubt that news and information about the assassination would spread quickly amongst the people, and those possibly tied to the one assassinated, effectively spreading fear and disrupting the chain of command targeted by the Assassins. &lt;br /&gt;

Through their work, Assassins could be easily looked at as political keepers of peace. Fighting on behalf of the people who do not possess the abilities, or better put, resources to speak out against the men in power who harm them. Assassins speak to these men of corruption for them, by introducing them to the sharp edge of a [[Hidden Blade|blade]]. By doing so, the people are freed from the shackles of their oppression. Even though the Assassins fight for the people, they are feared, because no matter how you look at it, killing is killing. The only way to truly justify it is self-defense, if in fact that&#039;s what it truly was. The Assassins were most feared due to the terrifying reputation for taking life in public. Creating the atmosphere of it not being safe to commit ill acts under the sun spreads fear amongst their enemies, never knowing when they may fall to an enemy who they can&#039;t see or hear. &lt;br /&gt;

Assassins possessed a specific weapon most efficient for assassinations, it was the Hidden Blade. A single thrust from this weapon could change the course of the Holy Land&#039;s future, as well as history. Such power could easily go to a blade hand&#039;s mind, causing him to lift himself above others knowing he could change history. But the devotion to their cause (peace in all things) and the knowledge of the &amp;quot;Assassins Creed&amp;quot; provided the guidance necessary to detour them from such thoughts. This was not always the case. In order to have a precise impact caused by an assasssination, the Assassins possessed extensive political knowlege, always intune with the ever-changing politics surrounding the empires of the Holy Land. They used this to decide whose death would most benefit the land. &lt;br /&gt;

Obtaining information was done by stationing agents within the cities to keep an eye on their actions. When deployed on missions, elite master assassins or blade hands were the ones responsible for carrying out public assassinations. They worked alone in the field, usually disguised as holy scholars or other suitable images. When stationed in a city, the Assassins would spend an immense amount of time getting acquainted with their environment and learning where and when it would be best to strike at their marked target. The actual strike itself took place in public.
