Father Antonio Maffei (1450-1479) is one of the monks under the employ of Lorenzo de' Medici, under the supervision of Uberto Alberti. As such, he is in league with Alberti's treachery towards Lorenzo, and was one of the key proponents of the Pazzi Conspiracy against the ruling family of Florence. He is portrayed by Shawn Baichoo.

Biography
Assassin's Creed: Lineage
Father Maffei's first appeared in the second part of Assassin's Creed: Lineage, after Giovanni intercepts a letter from the suspected conspirators of the murder of the Duke of Milan in Venice, which was waxed with the Barbarigo family seal. As Giovanni shows the letter to Lorenzo and Alberti, the latter quickly realizes that the contents are encrypted with a strange code, and that translating it would take several hours. Alberti then hands the letter to Father Maffei to work on.

Later that night Father Maffei hands the complete translation of the letter to Alberti, who praises him for the good work and tells him to fetch Giovanni for his next mission. But before leaving the palazzo, Alberti warns the priest of dangerous secrets, and makes him take a vow of silence, of not to tell anyone of the true contents of the letter. After fetching Giovanni from his residence and returning to the Medici palazzo, he is seen working on a duplicate letter, as Alberti claims they were "unable" to decode it, and hands the completed forged document for Giovanni to deliver to Rome.

After Giovanni's failure to capture Rodrigo Borgia, he returns to Florentine home as his wife tends to his near-fatal wound. Father Maffei then appears in front of the Auditore residence, with armed guards, demanding entry and custody of the Assassin. But Giovanni evades capture as his eldest son buys him enough time to slip into a hidden passageway.

Assassin's Creed II
Maffei blamed the Medicis for the Sacking of Volterra, his birthplace, by Florentine mercenaries. He is first seen in a secret chamber under the Santa Maria Novella meeting with Rodrigo Borgia and the other conspirators of the Medici brother's assassination. Father Maffei is next seen during the assassination attempt against Lorenzo at the Duomo, attempting to stab him and he slashes his neck. Maffei is later seen as one of the Pazzi conspirators that Ezio assassinates in San Gimignano (DNA Sequence 5). He is evidently going insane as he is found atop the tallest tower in the city spouting sermons and occasionally arrows. Ezio assassinates him when Antonio speaks a sermon and kills off Antonio's guards.

Final Words
Maffei: Away with you, demon!

Ezio: Have some respect for death, my friend.

Maffei: I'll show you respect! -

Ezio: (interrupt) No, I will. Che tu possa alfine trovare riposo nel corpo e nella mente. (May your body and mind at last be still.) Requiescat in Pace. (Rest in peace.)

Trivia
In real life, Antonio Maffei was a monk who tried to kill Lorenzo. He sliced him below his right ear. He found refuge with Benedictine monks in the Badia Fiorentina across from the Palazzo Pazzi. He was arrested on May 3. His nose and ears were sliced off. He was hung from the Palazzo della Signoria tower.
Francesco de' Pazzi (1444-1478) is the father of Vieri de' Pazzi and one of the Pazzi conspirators. He is the third assassination target of Ezio. He is also secretly a Templar. Apart from that, he was also one of Florence's wealthiest nobles. He hated the Medici family and the rising middle class with a passion.

Assassin's Creed II
He is first seen discussing with Rodrigo Borgia, along with his son and his uncle, Jacopo de' Pazzi, in San Gimignano about the murder of the Medici brothers. He is later seen in a chamber underneath the Santa Maria Novella church in Florence, discussing with his uncle and the Pazzi Conspirators about the assassination of Lorenzo de' Medici and Giuliano. He is seen as being very confident that their mission will be a success, but Jacopo warns him that confidence led to the death of his son, who was killed by Ezio. During the High Mass at the Duomo, he violently stabs Lorenzo's brother, Giuliano, 19 times in the chest, leading to his death. He then tries to kill Lorenzo, but Ezio fights him off, which forces him to flee. He and Jacopo's soldiers attack Florence. He is later seen trying to invade the Palazzo della Signoria to "persuade" the officials to make the Pazzi the leaders of Florence when Ezio appears again. Ezio manages to fight off Francesco's guards, forcing Francesco to flee. Ezio kills him, however, and his naked body is hung over the Palazzo della Signoria by angry Florentines while Jacopo agitates the citizens, causing Jacopo to flee Florence.

Final Words
Ezio: Now Firenze will judge you for what you've done.

Francesco: It's over... It's all over...

Ezio: Meglio essere felici in questa vita che aspirare a esserlo nella prossima. (Better to be content in this life, than aspire to it in the next) Requiescat in Pace. (Rest in peace)

Trivia
*It is peculiar that Vieri is Francesco's son, as the latter had to have been 10 when Vieri was born. The likely possibility is that Vieri is adopted, though no proven facts have been stated yet.
*It might be that Francesco de' Pazzi had a daughter as well. Hinted in the game's start, "Boys will be boys" Ezio comments "Your sister seemed quite satisfied with the handling I gave her earlier" to Vieri de' Pazzi just before their fight.
*In real life, Francesco de Pazzi was dragged from the Palazzo Pazzi and then hanged from the tower of the Palazzo della Signoria on April 26, 1478. His body was then cut down and desecrated.
*In real life, Francesco de Pazzi was reputed to have stabbed himself in the thigh accidentally, while killing Guliano de Medici in a frenzy.
*Francesco de Pazzi's body was hung naked from the Palazzo della Signoria. His stomach was cut open and his intestines fell out. This was replicated by Hannibal Lector in the movie "Hannibal", when he killed a Florentine police detective, who was a direct descendant of the Pazzi family, in the same way his ancestor died.
*Francesco de Pazzi's facial features resemble Zak Dingle of Emmerdale.
