Sorry, am I in your way?!

Vigilantes were groups of men that would aid the Assassins by distracting or grabbing guards pursuing them. They were often recruited by saving female citizens, or by reclaiming a Roman city district from the Borgia.

History
Third Crusade
Vigilante groups were usually made up of the friends or family members of female citizens, who had been rescued from harassing guards. The rescued citizen would often thank the Assassin, and assure him that their husband (or friends or neighbors) would be sure to hear of his kind deed.

Should the Assassin pass by the group of vigilantes when not being pursued, they would greet him, and say such things as "Thank you for saving my daughter" or "If you need me, I am here."

Renaissance
During Ezio Auditore da Firenze's attempts to retake Rome, several vigilantes began to support his actions. After he destroyed Borgia Towers, small groups of vigilantes would gather in the district, shouting insults at nearby guards, and ready to aid Ezio at any time.

Aside from directly assaulting the guards, they could also hide him from them. After successfully helping Ezio against an attack, they would disperse from the area, and only gather again at a later time.

Though vigilantes did not address Ezio should he walk past, they would often speak complaints against the Borgia and praise for the Assassins.

Ottoman Empire
Vigilantes did not appear as frequesntly as other cities and normally onlyappeared when Ezio used a gold bomb When Ezio stirred a riot at the Harbor of Theodosius, civilians who fought off guards were referred to by the Animus tutorial as vigilantes.

Trivia
*A guard held by a vigilante cannot move or defend himself, allowing you to easily kill or shake the pursuer.
*Vigilantes can hold guards for around five seconds before the guard struggles free, although it is possible for the guard to be grabbed again immediately afterward.
*Any guard regardless of health or type can be grappled by vigilantes and assassination targets are also vulnerable to them.
*If all of your pursuers are killed with the assistance of vigilantes, the group will disperse and cannot be used again until the area reloads.

Short blades were short, curved bladed weapons that traded power and reach for a faster swing rate.

History
High Middle Ages
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's short blade was returned to him after he had reached the third rank. Like the sword, his skill with the short blade increased as he climbed up the ranks.

The first short blade he obtained had a wooden handle, though he received an all metal variation at a later rank. In both instances, he carried the short blade across his back with the handle facing down.

In battle, he wielded the short blade with an icepick grip, and often used it in conjunction with throwing knives.

15th Century
In a similar fashion to Altaïr, Ezio Auditore was equipped with both a medium weapon and a short blade, though they were sheathed together at his side. He could purchase various types of short blades from Blacksmiths, each with unique speed, damage and deflection properties.

In battle, he would wield the short blade much as Altaïr did, utilizing the same icepick grip, though he did not learn to use it alongside throwing knives until he became a Master Assassin.

Several of his allies, such as thieves and courtesans, also used short blades in battle. Certain guards and assassination targets, such as agiles and Rodrigo Borgia, made use of short blades as well. However, none of these held their weapons in an icepick grip.

Combat
Short blades could strike more quickly than medium weapons, which made them ideal for dispatching large numbers of low-ranked enemies. However, as an enemy's rank increased, the short blade's effectiveness diminished due to the higher quality armor that they used.

For Altaïr, the special, close-ranged attack of most short blades could only be performed from behind, and took the form of slitting an enemy's throat, or stabbing them in the shoulder or the back, which would always result in an instant kill.

When used with the short blade, Altaïr could throw a single throwing knife mid-combat. Similarly, Ezio could dual-wield the short blade with throwing knives, and could throw multiple throwing knives at once.
Trivia
*In Assassin's Creed, Altaïr is the only person to use a short blade other than Malik & his brother until Malik loses his arm and when his brother dies. All other NPCs use long blades.
*The last-tier short blade Altaïr uses resembles the Sultan's Knife, meaning that it was the most powerful weapon during the Third Crusade. However, in Ezio's time, the most powerful short blade is the Notched Cinquedea.
*In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, once all throwing knives have been used up, the special attack of the short blade is switched to that of the fists, in which Ezio throws sand to momentarily incapacitate his target.
*In the Blacksmith stores in Brotherhood, the Notched Cinquedea has the store image of the Channeled Cinquedea, and vice versa.
*Unlike in Assassin's Creed II, in Brotherhood, the Channeled Cinquedea is a weapon that cannot be purchased, and can only be taken from a guard.
*Only very few individuals throughout the series hold the short blade with an icepick grip. These include Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Tamir, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Francesco de' Pazzi, Bernardo Baroncelli, and Claudia Auditore da Firenze.
*An unusable Notched Cinquedea can be seen stuck in the table in Ezio's office in Monteriggioni.
*In every Assassin's Creed game to feature the short blade as a usable weapon, there is a kill that Altaïr and Ezio use where the blade is not used at all. It involves breaking an enemy's leg with a kick, and then hooking their free arm around their head and snapping their neck.
*Despite Altaïr being seen with his blade while talking to Al Mualim in The Mentor's Wake, his blade is missing immediately after.

Cappadocia was a region in central Turkey. Although it was partially above ground, the bulk of it lay underground, and was an ancient and mysterious region controlled and constructed by the Templars.

Many poor and struggling Byzantines took refuge at Cappadocia after the fall of Constantinople at the hands of the Ottoman Empire.

History
Templar headquarters
During the 16th century, the Templars set up their headquarters in Cappadocia after being driven from their previous base in Rome by the Assassins. The Templar in charge of the Masyaf expedition, Manuel Palaiologos, lived in Cappadocia for some time after his family lost their hold on the Ottoman throne.

Assassin invasion
In March of 1512, the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze infiltrated Cappadocia after arriving there on a ship captained by fellow Assassin, Piri Reis. Once in the city, Ezio made his way to a large center rock formation, and surveyed the area. He then located an Ottoman spy, Dilara, whom he received information from. After meeting with this spy, Ezio made his way around the city, and eventually overheard guards discussing the fate of Dilara.

The guards discussed how Shahkulu was set to kill Dilara, but also how they were angered at the fact that the prison key was with one of their fellow guards at the market. Ezio then left for the market, and once there, he located the guard, who was distracted by an orator. The Assassin pick-pocketed the key from the guard, and made his way back to Dilara's prison cell. He found that the guards had left, and that it was simply Dilara in her cell. He immediately freed her, but she left abruptly and told him she was going to kill Shahkulu.

Ezio caught up to Dilara to find her just outside a crowd observing Shahkulu beating Janos, another Ottoman spy. He conversed briefly with Dilara, before leaving her to assassinate Shahkulu. The Assassin then made his way up to a small platform extending out above the courtyard where Shahkulu was, assassinating a few guards on his ascent. Upon reaching the platform, Ezio made his way to the edge of it, and air-assassinated Shahkulu, successfully saving Janos in the process.

However, Shahkulu got back up from Ezio's attacks, and attempted to fight the Assassin alongside his reinforcements. Although outnumbered, Ezio managed to kill Shahkulu's men, and then eventually Shahkulu himself. After assassinating Shahkulu and reuniting Dilara and Janos, Ezio left to find Manuel Palaiologos.

While navigating the city in a search for Manuel, Ezio spotted two workers moving crates of gunpowder using a crane. He then made his way to the depot where the gunpowder was being stored, but encountered numerous guards along the way. However, Ezio managed to overcome these guards, and eventually destroyed the weapons depot, utilizing the gunpowder itself to cause a destructive explosion.

Upon seeing and hearing the loud explosion of the weapons depot, Manuel rushed out to the city to investigate. He began telling his men to remain strong and to not give in to fear, but then spotted Ezio on a platform on the other side of the city. Manuel immediately stopped his speech, and began to flee, paranoid of the Assassin. However, Ezio pursued Manuel well, and nearly cornered him, but Manuel managed to slip behind a gate.

Once behind the protection of the gate, Manuel told Ezio to stop and think for a moment, but Ezio climbed over the gate and began pursuing Manuel yet again. Manuel began to flee again, but the Assassin eventually cornered Manuel on the docks, and then assassinated him with ease.

Afterwards, however, Ezio was confronted by Ahmet, the son of Sultan Bayezid II. Ezio talked with Ahmet, who was just offshore on a boat, about each of their conflicting goals and desires. This conversation eventually became threatening, and led to Ahmet leaving for Constantinople, with Ezio right behind him.

Trivia
*In an interview with CVG, Alexandre Amancio noted that parts of the city are reminiscent of Petra.
*While in Cappadocia, Ezio wore a full body-length cape with a hood over his Assassin robes. This was probably so that he would not be recognized within the Templar stronghold.
*Cappadocia is unlocked with sequence 7, and players can return afterwards via a boat in western Galata.
*As Cappadocia can never be freed from Templar control, the unique items sold there will always have the Templar tax attached to them.
*The clothes Ezio wears resemble early concept art of Ezio.
Further in the game he will pop up, he is part of a mission.

Depending on your game completion, Leonardo's services may not yet be required. There are multiple missions available later in the game (depending on where you're up to) that involve Leonardo. If you are positive that you are at a mission that requires his services, but you just can't find him even with the map, maybe you've altered the settings. In this case you will need to open the map and alter some of the settings to allow certain types of markers to be viewed. If you're just concerned at the lack of presence he has in the game in comparison to Assassin's Creed II - you're not the only one.Il Tuo Dio 15:32, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
What are all the Co-op Bonuses?
By co-op bonuses I am referring to the trophy Role Model. I am wondering what all bonuses are also for the trophy Abstergo Employee of the month. I know some you need to unlock things like the hidden gun and throwing knife to get some special ones e.i. killing an air born target.

The bonuses are as follows:
*Co-op Kill: Kill a target locked on by your teammate.
*Diversion: Kill a target who has been chased by your teammate.
*Rescue: Stun a pursuer who is chasing your teammate.
*Multi-Kill: Your team kills two targets in a row in less than 10 seconds.
