i agree with masterassassin, the story is one of the big things that draw so many to the game, the whole dan-brown-style way of playing off conspiracy theories to make a fictional story that you almost believe is real. CarloGrimaldi 00:19, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
And the whole "Piece of Eden throughout history" is one of the best parts. If Desmond is in this game, then we know it's a direct sequel, and not just a side game taking place in Ezio's time. Personally I don't think Brotherhood is really all that much of a continuation but it obviously is, as awesome looking as it already is. I mean come on everyone, it's basically a DLC with multiplayer. The only logical reason that it isn't a DLC is that Rome is way too big to be a DLC, which is also why it wasn't in AC2, it's simply too big to fit within that kind of size limit. Even the developers have stated before that Rome's size is why they didn't put it into AC2, because it's practically it's own game. And now here we have it. I just pray that they do a (excuse the language) damn good job on the story and make it worthwhile because personally I'm not all that excited about the multiplayer. Sure, it looks fun, and it may have some replay value being that you go up against other players in various modes and maps, but eventually it'll just get straight up boring to me, and I know I can't be the only one who believes so. But yeah, the single player story had better be worth a good portion of the money paid for the game, it's what made the previous two AC games so enjoyable. I agree with Lucan07. The guy with the Beak thing will probably be the Medic or Doctor. Thats probably what theyll call him. The Brute guy is probably gonna be the Heavy Weapons expert. Using stuff like axes and Claymores. The guy that looks like La Volpe will probably be the class of Assassin that can freerun seeing as not everyone can do it. The one that looks like Paola will probably be the class that can blend in with a crowd and the last one thata looks like a Monk. Actually D. Cello it will? do you know this for sure? we know that the weapons are character specific, but different characters doesnt mean different classes. and from what the PS magazine article said, it seems as if all characters can do things like blend and free-run. despite what i just said, it would be cool if you choice of character affected more than just your look and animations. : I expect that they'll adapt much of the gameplay except for a few things (such as fixing up your own city) from ACII, so that it will save them time to develop this game. After all they don't have much time to develop it in the first place. Altaïr 00:45, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
Well I think some multiplayer modes for the game may involve team missions, competitive assassinations and maybe even capture the flag. The game may even expand the story but some things may not be canon. PassiveNeoluna 23:10, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
What would be Cool was if Person 1(P1)was the Assassination Target then P2 P3 P4 and whoever else is playing has to hunt the Target and lets say P1 gets to Choose their Targets Character like maybe a Captain of The Guard whos good at fighting but not Free Running and has lots of Guards or a Agile kinda Guard and so on and so forth. Or a mode in which is a Borgia Courier and Each Assassins has to loot him first and bring back the Loot to their base without being Tackled or looted to Win Kinda like CTF
hopefully, it is. they had to take it out of AC1 becuase crossbows werent even invented til the 100 years war, and they hidden gun beat out the crossbow's chance in AC2. Ubisoft might also think that making too many long ranged weapons will turn AC into just a crappy Hitman game. but i assme they wouldnt just pretend its in the game when its not. The developers have asked me a few times about using bows and arrows, crossbows etc and I've said no to them because Assassins don't use them...... At a convention not so long ago, I managed to hit a target with 7 stilettos by the time the other guy had loaded and shot one bolt with the crossbow just to prove how useless they were for an Assassin...... Haha, ah, forgot about that. but the real question is how far where you from the target? doesn't matter how many you can throw if the guy is too far to be hit by any of them. The 7 stilettos was at 15 yards I think (Our pitch was 16 by 8 yards and it was more or less the full length) ...... But the next day I won a competition by hitting a balistics dummy at 27 yards straight through the third eye, Sarmatians came 2nd only hitting the shoulder and the rest couldn't even hit it (But then, I was brought up to be very good with throwing knives).......
I don't know anything about this for certain, but as far as I get it I think that Giovanni Auditore da Firenze is just a singleplayer skin, not a multiplayer character. It is more a far more logical conclusion. The only thing we know about this skin is that you can get it by buying the Limited Codex edition (that's the not yet revealed bonus). That is all. Well, I wrote the words Creed Giovanni Skin Brotherhood in Google and I got some pretty interesting results. Except on our wiki page there's a bunch of sites with 'One singleplayer skin for Ezio' written in the text. Since the silhouette in the Limited Codex edition could be Giovanni and he is also are only 'suspect' to be the not yet revealed bonus in the game, I think we can be sure that Giovanni is a skin. As far as I know all the multiplayer skins are affiliated with the Templars. For example the Courtesan has the templar symbol on the fan, Hunter on his back. ==Fake(-ish) Multiplayer Characters==

There are a number of characters who have made appearances in the backgrounds of screenshots that may or may not be playable. Fan-made nicknames for these characters should really be confined to talk pages and whatnot until we actually know something about them. These include, but are not necessarily limited to:

*The "Female Harlequin"

*The "Female Merchant"
*The "Caramel Hunter"
*The "Saracen"

It was brought to my attention here that all the characters in the multiplayer mode will be playable. These characters are seen in pictures, which means that they are in the multiplayer, which then means that they are playable. So yes, they haven't been confirmed by Ubisoft yet, but guess what, nothing has been confirmed about AC3, and yet it still has a page. These characters are in the game, and so, logically, they are going to be playable. Their names are only temporary until Ubisoft officially announces them and gives them an official name. : I had this happen once when I was playing around in the loading screen with the crossbow. Just use a distance weapon like the gun or crossbow and focus so the camera angle changes, should knock it back right when you zoom back out. Hey guys! I just want to prevent this from happening to any of you, because when i was playing ACB a week ago i was heading to the main memory start (at the end of memory 7) and when i arrived there was nothing there to interact with. I restarted the game but this did nothing. It was only when i returned to the hideout to graduate an assassin that i realised the memory was suppost to be there (at the hideout). So if this happen to any of you (at any point in the game) just tell me the memory and sequence that your up to and i will tell you the actual start point. (but it may take a day to reply as im updating these pages in class at school on my yr9 laptop instead of work and will have to return home to check the start point on the game). so unless i use home internet, im sorry but you may have to wait a day.

I've been looking into it, and it would make sense for the next one to be in Revolutionary France. Before the end of the game, which I won't spoil, Sean talks about how the phrygian cap and masonic eye appear only in one place in time, before he is cut off. That place is revolutionary France. Not to mention the fact that the newly released Mont St. Michel map for multiplayer has an entirely new French soundboard for the NPCs, including heralds. The Day 1 Steelbook edition

It's a steelbox, featuring Altair and Ezio (younger from AC2) on the outside, and a wider (but normal) art in the inside from the AC:B box. It conatins an extra chaarcter (Harlequin) AND an extra map (Aqua ...?) In the inside there are 3 places, to hold all the 3 games (but only the AC:B is in the package, the others are not included. Also on the side of it it say: "Assassin's Creed" and not even a letter of Brotherhood.
Button Performing Wrong Action
While I was playing ACB the other day I noticed that with the button pad on the left of the controller, the buttons had changed the action that was performed when pressed. It had changed my down button which use to be my fists action to being my sword action, and the right button which use to be my sword action to being my fists action. At first I thought it was a minor glitch and tried restarting it but this done nothing. I tried almost everything that came to mind to try to fix this but nothing would work. My theory to the cause of the problem is that the DLC I downloaded had something to do with it as I had downloaded it right before this incident occured, which was the 'Capernicus Conspiracy'. It would be greatly appreciated if any of you have a solution to this problem to please post it here. THNX Grim Leaper19 00:11, April 9, 2011 (UTC)
OK, I think you may have been caught out by the inventory assignment feature. Try opening your inventory, and then highlight the sword option. Then hold down the button you usually have for your sword for a few seconds and release it. It should set it to that button with a sound effect. Hope that can help! The one that looks like Paola will probably be the class that can blend in with a crowd and the last one thata looks like a Monk. I don't think it will actually feature those classes exclusive things. It would be too RPG and Assassin's never focused on that (gladly). It's an action adventure game, not a MMO. : I expect that they'll adapt much of the gameplay except for a few things (such as fixing up your own city) from ACII, so that it will save them time to develop this game. After all they don't have much time to develop it in the first place. Altaïr 00:45, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
So far I understand that the player is a Templar using an animus to acquire the skills of an assassin to use against the assassins themselves in modern times. I read that the animus they use is loaded with other subjects' memories (people who had assassin's for ancestors), so it would follow that the multiplayer characters were those assassins. Here's where they lose me: The multiplayer characters are modeled and written to be Templars themselves now, even being targets for Ezio to kill in the single player. This doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know if that is correct or if there is an explaination for it yet? Ombra Lupo 04:23, October 16, 2010 (UTC)Ombra Lupo
I dont know how you would be able to import a save game from one game to another, it is just not possible, unless the game designers had programmed it to do that. If they put any importing in the game it would only be for a few extras like starting the game with more money, but other than that, its just not an option. Sorry. The source for the "Personal Assassin" information could be found on a couple preview that talks about the BAM aka Brotherhood Assassin Mechanism, the Dev Diaries, and the Youtube Q&A with Gab. As well as some of the developer that has been interviewed stating up to 5 Brotherhood Assassin can be made into Ezio's Personal Assassins. Towards the end of ACB where Shaun finally understands what the dates mean on the wall (1419,1420,1421), he says, "If you arrange the four Hebrew letters in God's name within an equilateral triangle, their numerical values add up to the same number: 72.". To be able to arrange the letters in a equilateral trianlge do you have to use the triangle that was painted on the wall where the dates where? Or can you use any equilateral triangle? And, how do you arrange them to equal 72? Slvdrn3 22:26, April 10, 2012 (UTC)
Mechanism
I think the new blade is rigged to them flexing their fore arm. give helpful criticism or add on.
:
:How It Woks:
#Hand is flexed.
#Chord attached to finger is pulled.
#Chord pulls Pull Switch which rotates wheel 180'.
#Wheel rotation moves arm attached to second point of lazy tongs/scissor jack.
#Scissor Jack stretches out, extending blade.
#Pawl (locking mechanism) prevents the wheel from turning counter clockwise.
#Hand relaxes
#Spring on Pull Switch pulls the Pull Switch down (this does not turn wheel due to the shape of the teeth, the just slip over each other) into initial position.
#When the wielder wants to retract the blade, he or she pulls on the chord again.
#Chord pulls the Pull Switch which rotates wheel 180' again.
#Arm, and therefore scissor jack, is brought back to initial position.
#Hand relaxes.
#Spring on Pull Switch pulls Pull Switch down into initial position (again without effecting the wheel).
#Ready to go again.
Any questions please ask. The picture is by someone on the website Exotic Automatic, which has a wide range of Hidden Blade designs. This by far is my favourite because of it's simplicity.

:Apologies. But realistically that wouldn't work. With the amount of climbing and fighting Ezio does, that would cause the blades to come out at very inconvenient moments. Only a mechanism triggered by a chord would work effectively. 84.93.160.45 23:16, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

:I agree with the crits above. But Ezio gave up of the ring mechanism as like said it would come out in very surprisingly moments. The new design was developed by <u>Da Vinci</u>. He also gave up of the Jack scissors.
:In Altair's blueprints the blade can be seen actioned by a ring only because the <u>Levantine Assassins</u> would cut their ring finger in order to weild the blade. In the trailer of Assassin's Creed 2 Ezio can be seen pulling a <u>ring</u> but no such thing exits in the gameplay, or wallpapers, or AC B or AC Revelations... And Da Vinci mentiones that he modified the design so that no such sacrifice would be needed anymore. You have done a great work but I believe everyone knew about this mechanism... or I knew from the moment I saw the blade.
: Our problem is discovering how Ezio manages to <u>activate</u> his blade without a ring or a chord tided up to his finger. More complicate is that he can use the Hidded Gun same way by just moving his thumb to the left.
Anyone wanna have a long debate about what happened to Ezio's dad's hidden blade and bracer after he fainted on his way to Rome? It just disappeared and was replaced like I said on the Trivia. Any theories? :P Bonkorz 02:30, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

:My theory: Machiavelli or his men find Ezio passed out on his way to Rome. He discovers that the bracer is broken, but not the blade, or any of the other killing bits. While the new robes were being made/delivered, a new bracer was made to fit the undamaged hidden blade mechanisms (gun, poison and all). The poison blade, the gun and the repaired hidden blade come from Altair's codex. I have to assume that nobody but Leonardo could have built them. Therefore, Ezio's "new" hidden blade is actually a repackaging of Giovanni's hidden blade.--CasualGamer 00:49, January 10, 2011 (UTC)
Desmond removed the bracer to help conceal the blade itself as a precaution should the get pulled over or found. It allowed for a lighter blade arm (an estimated pound or 2 taken off from the bracer being removed) so he could move easier and so it isn't noticed under the sweatshirt sleeve.
I'd be very happy if we lost the ability to block with the hidden blade due to the lack of bracer with Desmond. So that we'd have to use the Hidden Blade Altaïr-style, which I found a lot more challenging. RussellSparrow 17:58, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

No one would wish to have Altairs Hidden Blade. Luckily Da Vinci managed to modify its design. Now heres why, Altairs blade required a rings finger sacrifice because of the blades harsh design. The Levantine Asassins blade was actioned by a ring which by their freestyle running would come in and out incoveniently. Imagine your blade come out while you grab on a wall. == "Blade" designs... ==

Would it be worth mentioning in the page that the "blade" had a different design during the high middle ages and the renaissance?. i mean, altair's blade was more of a "spike" than a blade, designed to drill trough metal plates by brute force and speed and then, puncture some vital organ, as seen in Altair's finishing moves, he aims at lungs, stomach, spine and neck, rarely ever using it to "cut" and even when he does, he has to do so with extremely quick slices.

This design was even kept in the Revelations revamp (with most of the puncturing animations, btw, he sometimes gets a second blade out of nowhere...)

In contrast, Ezio's blade is a legitimate blade, used to cut trough flesh and light armor easily, but not efficient at armor piercing, hence, Ezio aims at the unarmored parts of brutes and other enemies, most commonly the neck, and cuts trought the torso of lightly armored enemies. After assassinating the guards, Ezio walks towards a worker.

Ezio exits the fortress and overhears nearby guards.

*Guard: The Assassin must not get his hands on that book. When we reach Leandros, we will escort him out of the village. You stay behind and make sure we are not followed.

The Bleeding Effect was a disorder caused by overexposure to the Animus virtual machine, suggested by Lucy Stillman to be similar to "certain forms of multiple personality and delusional disorders." With increasing exposure, subjects began to experience a blending of their own real-time memories and their genetic memories, leading to difficulties in distinguishing between the two, and this eventually resulted in mental breakdown. Notably, Subject 16, Desmond Miles, and Daniel Cross suffered from the Bleeding Effect.

Manifestations
Clay Kaczmarek
Initially, the bleeding effect was only hinted at, with Lucy and Warren Vidic simply implying that using the Animus for prolonged periods was dangerous. Later, Lucy's email to Vidic describes it in much more detail: having been forced to use the Animus for days at a time, Clay Kaczmarek gradually became unable to control the bleeding effect, and was driven to insanity by the genetic memories he experienced outside the Animus.

Subsequently, Clay was labeled as an extreme case, and is thus seldom described before his breakdown. In his messages to Desmond through the Glyphs, he shows difficulty in remembering who he was and what year it was, going so far as seeming unable to recall his own name. However, he thought clearly enough to keep the goal of revealing the Truth in mind, and to leave messages and clues to do so. He became increasingly obsessed with this, leading him to write warnings to future subjects in his own blood, which resulted in his apparent suicide.

Desmond Miles
Desmond, also referred to as Subject 17, gained the fighting and free-running abilities of his ancestors, as well as the ability to use Eagle Vision, through prolonged exposure to the Animus. This was followed by several hallucinations of his ancestors' memories, however, Desmond was told that as long as the visions were shorter than thirty seconds, he would be fine. The visions started out ghost-like and indistinct, but became longer and more vivid, at one point causing Desmond to black out.

Over time, Desmond's symptoms began to grow much worse, and he despaired to Lucy Stillman that, if he could not stop the slowly lengthening visions, it would not be much longer before he started "painting symbols on the walls." Additionally, Desmond had even begun confusing his ancestors' memories with his own; notably when he told Lucy about "the last time (he) was here" while exploring the tunnels beneath Monteriggioni, prompting Lucy to correct him that it had been Ezio who had been there.

Despite his concerns, the hallucinations proved quite useful, with Desmond being able navigate through the tunnels under the Villa Auditore, and later the Colosseum and Santa Maria Aracoeli, by following his visions of Ezio Auditore; even performing his first Leap of Faith at modern-day Monteriggioni by doing so.

However, Rebecca also once e-mailed Lucy that Desmond had started screaming in his sleep since they had arrived at the Sanctuary. This concern was expressed in turn by Lucy to an Assassin contact, William Miles, who sympathized with Desmond's well-being, but reminded her that they needed him in order to locate the Apple.

Later, Desmond's condition worsened to the point where he fell into a comatose state, effectively fragmenting his mind from within the Animus. To revert the damage done to his psyche, Desmond finished the remaining memories from Altaïr and Ezio to create a Sync Nexus and ultimately regain his own consciousness.

Daniel Cross
Daniel Cross' bleeding effect manifested in the form of images of people and objects from the past, as well as unknown symbols. Additionally, he experienced memories from his ancestor, Nikolai Orelov. It was formerly believed that the bleeding effect occurred naturally in Daniel, without prior exposure to an Animus, however, it was later discovered that he had in fact been placed in an older version of the Animus around 1985.

Templars
Perhaps following in the Assassins' attempts to train Desmond more quickly through use of the bleeding effect, Abstergo Industries also began to instruct present-day Templars in a similar manner. Using multiple Animi, the trainees were exposed to the memories of certain past Templars in order to incorporate their skills.

Trivia
*One of Lucy's e-mails in Assassin's Creed posits that some phenomena (such as past life regression) and mental illnesses (such as multiple personality disorder) could stem from a rare, naturally occurring bleeding effect.
*When Desmond was reliving the memories of Ezio's pilgrimage to Masyaf, and Altaïr's return from exile to Masyaf, ghostly images from Altaïr's past could be perceived. Whether this is a side effect of Eagle Sense's ability to track where targets have been, merely the bleeding effect causing the memories to overlap, or really is the ghost of Altaïr's past (judging from Ezio noticing him), is unconfirmed.
*In Revelations, Rebecca asked if the bleeding effect was part of Desmond's high concentration of First Civilization genes, to which William Miles replied he believed so.
I'm just throwing this out as an idea, but what if Jupiter is Desmond's First Civilization ancestor. He has to have one since he has a high concentration of their DNA. And since Jupiter was communicating with him through the synch nexus, he could be Desmond's ancestor...or not. Just throwing that out. (Ultraman468)
