Battle of Forlì is one of two downloadable content extensions for Assassin's Creed II. It comprises the first of the two "corrupted memories" of the Animus (DNA sequence 12), and was released 28 January 2010, which retailed for 320MS points on Xbox Live and $3.99/€3.99/£3.19 on the Playstation Network. It involved Niccolò Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza fighting alongside Ezio to protect a Piece of Eden from the Orsi brothers and the Templars. It contains six new missions, including a "Special Memory" of which Ezio can use the Flying Machine once more. The title suggests that the memory took place in the poorly exploited (in the main game) Forlì.
Plot summary
The Battle of Forlì begins as the player loads the story mode of Assassin's Creed II. Ezio is in a room with Niccolò Machiavelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Mario Auditore marvelling at the Piece of Eden they recovered in the previous DNA sequence. After discovering that it has great power, the group decides to seal it away in the citadel in Forlì. They dispatch Ezio to the city to consult the ruler, Caterina Sforza, but as Ezio arrives, the city is occupied by the Orsi brothers, who are working for the Templars. Ezio infiltrates the city and escorts Caterina and her bodyguards to the citadel, but it is breached. Ezio helps to stop the breach, and is successful. However, the Orsi brothers down below taunt Caterina with threats of killing her two captured children. She sends Ezio to rescue her children, and he does so, but leaves the Piece of Eden with her. While Ezio rescues the children, he assassinates one of the Orsi brothers, then returns to the citadel. Caterina and Machiavelli inform him here that the captured children were just a ploy to lead Ezio away, and with him gone, the remaining Orsi brother stole the Piece of Eden from the citadel. Ezio tracks down, chases, and kills the remaining Orsi brother, but Ezio is stabbed near-fatally while doing so. As he passes out, the retrieved Piece of Eden rolls away from him, and is picked up by a black-robed figure with a missing finger. Ezio awakens in Caterina's care, but quickly remembers that the Piece of Eden was stolen. Caterina advises him to check the churches, as his description sounds like that of a monk. Ezio is eventually led to a monk who is able to give him the name of the thief; the monk Savonarola, who currently rules Florence. The DLC ends there, as the following memory data remains corrupted.
After becoming Master of the Order, Altaïr used the knowledge from within The Apple to construct an unbreakable and light Set of Armor.

History
Unlike the robe Altaïr wore during the events of Assassin's Creed, this armor provides more protection against attacks and is dyed black/red. Due to its advanced design, it is more similar to the armor Giovanni and Ezio wear than Altaïr's original armor. The armor is seen in Assassin's Creed II.

Years later, Altaïr's Armor was stored inside a vault below the Auditore Villa, locked behind bars which only open when all six seals from hidden Assassins' tombs are collected and placed on their respective statues. As each seal is placed, a bar (to which the placed seal corresponds) retracts into the wall. When all six seals are placed, the bars that block access to the Altaïr's armor retracts into the floor, granting access to the armor. Altaïr's armor is the most powerful armor in Assassin's Creed II. Since it cannot break, it doesn't need to be repaired, which saves the user a great deal of florins. Unfortunately, the armor cannot be dyed visibly when worn. In Altaïr's Codex Pages, he claims to have created a new metal which is incredibly strong whilst being light as a feather. In a contrast to other Asassin's robes, Altaïr's Armor is black, while Ezio and Altaïr originally wore white. The black color scheme can be attributed to the rank of Grandmaster of the Syrian Assassin's Sect, which Altaïr obtained after defeating Al Mualim. Once you've obtained it, it can be taken on and off in the Auditore Family Villa in the armor room. Altair's armor must be worn all at once, you can't mix it with other armor sets/types.
Trivia
*According to a piece of concept art, it seems that the armor was intended to be an invention by Leonardo da Vinci before being a creation of Altaïr.
*While wearing the armor, the burn mark Ezio obtained during Memory Sequence Eleven does not appear at all. This may be a Creator's mistake, or a side effect. Also the hood is never down.
*The cloak for Altair's Armour, in addition to being black, is much longer than the one Ezio would wear with the other armours, and made up of three layers. Each layer is longer than the one above it, and the longest, lower layer is segmented, which gives the whole piece a look resembling Eagle's Wings. The back of the lower layer is also split down the middle, making it behave much like Altair's cloak from the original game, where each side would move up and down as the back of Altair's legs pushed against them.
*It is interesting to note that the Chest Guard of Altair and Pauldrons of Altair somewhat resemble Roman Lorica segmentata. Also, the cape-pauldron seems to be composed of leather. Plus, the Vambraces of Altair resemble Missaglias and Guard Captains wear similar vambraces. The Greaves of Altair also bear a strong resmblance to leather.
