The ''Aquila'''s cannon projectiles included standard {{Wiki|Round shot|round shots}}; {{Wiki|Chain-shot|chain-shots}} to disable enemy ships' masts; {{Wiki|grapeshot}}, {{Wiki|Shrapnel shell|shrapnel shells}} and {{Wiki|Heated shot|heated shots}} to start fires. The ship was also armed with {{Wiki|swivel gun|swivel guns}} that could be used to snipe certain targets like a captain or the gunpowder reservoir.
