The Knights Templar are the Assassin's "rival" in the Holy Land. They attack Masyaf in the first Memory Block; and after that, any Templar found in the Holy Land will attack Altaïr without provocation. They tend to attack more rapidly and take more hits than normal guards. You can find them in small villages scattered throughout the kingdom, as well as throughout the cities.

Achievement:
There are 60 Templars within the game world. Thirty are located in the kingdom, and ten in each city. Two subsections (either poor, middle, rich) of each city will have three templars, and the remaining subsection will have four Watch out when hunting them, however, as Templars are known to survive even four throwing knives to the body. In any Memory Block, regardless of the Rank Memory that Altair has, the Templars will attack with all techniques (Guard Break, Counter-grab, etc.) and are extremely hard to kill without more advanced techniques and a high sync bar. Templar locations are broken down as follows:

Kingdom: 30x

Jerusalem Poor: 3x

Jerusalem Mid: 3x

Jerusalem Rich: 4x

Damascus Poor: 3x

Damascus Mid: 3x

Damascus Rich: 4x

Acre Poor: 4x

Acre Middle: 3x

Acre Rich: 3x

Eliminating all 60 templars in the game will grant the Personal Vendetta achievement.

Personal Vendetta
Kill every Templar. (40 Pts)

Locations
Simply put, if anyone finds a Templar ingame, check they aren't already listed and then give detailed discription of their location. (Please don't use viewpoints as references, they disappear off of the map.

In Assassin's Creed the fists are the weakest form of fighting avaliable to you, but using them will attract much less attention. Your fists are also the only way you can fight in an interrogation without killing or causing the target to run, even though you almost always murder the target anyway. When you fail to pick-pocket throwing knives a thug will generally start a fist fight. You can choose to punch back, or you can draw one of your swords and he will immediately flee. The latter will attract the attention of nearby guards if you don't put it away immediately. As weak as fists are they are your only weapon as a novice but don't get used to them because you are only a novice for one mission. It is still useful if a beggar annoys you though some prefer grabbing.

Richard the Lionheart was the king of England in 1191. At the beginning of Assassin's Creed, Richard and his army just taken the port city of Acre. His ultimate goal is to lead his army into the city of Jerusalem so that he can free the holy land in the name of the Christian faith.

With a base of operations established in Acre, the Crusaders prepare to march south. However, Saladin, leader of the Islamic army, currently rules the city. Stinging from his army’s defeat at Acre, he will not allow Richard to humiliate him again. The Muslim forces are massing in the ruins of Arsuf, intending to ambush the Crusaders and prevent them from reaching Jerusalem. These war maneuvers have left the rest of the Holy Land wide open. While Richard and Saladin battle one another, the men left to govern in their stead have begun taking advantage of their newfound positions of power. Exploitation, manipulation, and provocation rule the day.

Richard the Lionhearted makes a brief appearance during two missions in the game. He is leader of the invading forces allied against Saladin, and has decided to attempt to take back Jerusalem for Christianity.
