:Nothing new there, we already knew about the whole "play as yourself" schtick, that Ubisoft seems to still shove in people's faces. And people don't like it. Most of people I talked with didn't like the modern bit of AC4 because it could have progressed just as well if the player wasn't there. Being a floating tablet for NPCs to monologue at and doing hacking minigames did not seem like "playing as myself". And since now they say this will not be set at Abstergo Entertainment, but still crow about "you get contacted by Assassins", I doubt we'll be a different character than this, possibly, ex-analyst. ::I don't think the Assassins are contacting you necessarily, but selling Arno's memories through their Helix console as a recruitment tool/counter Templar propaganda tool, thanks to the billionaire Initiates they've recruited this year. I (And i think every other AC fan i've ever heard talking about it) want a new recuring main character. You can't develop and great back story when the player is playing as 'themselves'. It definetly doesn't increase engagement at all, since i can tell you for a fact there's no way i'm going to be going working in Canada for Abstergo (for a variety of reasons). I'm pretty sure it's all due to corner cutting and such, modern day needing new props and such, cutting such corners doesn't make for a ground breaking game though :([[Special:Contributions/2.31.166.218|2.31.166.218]] 23:36, July 7, 2014 (UTC)
