The Sage worked wonderfully in BLACK FLAG, where it was really scary and made a well known historical figure even more menacing and mysterious then he already is.

The thing is, I think as a concept that it's hard to repeat and apply in different periods to the same effect. Also, this is my personal feeling, I don't think Sages should be either Assassins or Templars, and making de Molay or the bad guy in UNITY sages was a mistake for me, since it took away from the originality. I suppose we can next expect an Assassin Sage to balance things out or a Playable Sage.

Altair is an Assassin which makes him a sort of mystic/scholar dude. Being an Assassiyun got him an education that he would never have got anywhere else. Connor goes from a classless society to being pretty rich I would say. After he meets Achilles, he gets property, becomes a landowner and has his own bay and private frigate, I mean that kind of setup is the retirement home of the upper 1%.

Arno by the way is not Middle Class. I think he's a nobleman. I'd say, an upper Third Estate dude rather than Elise (who is obviously 2nd Estate). He's not independently wealthy of course. You can argue that the Templar Grand Master is Middle Class.

One thing I liked about Ezio, is that compared to Bruce Wayne, he's not a rich guy who beats up the poor. He has this unstated empathy and solidarity with the lower classes. That sequence in Florence after his father dies, the Auditore are second class citizens and the only people who come to help him are prostitutes and the family servant girl. He has to escape Florence by moving through slum distrcit and his targets are the wealthy and the corrupt. And Leonardo himself is working class as well, he was an orphan boy with no family and name, so Ezio is above him a little bit in terms of class(Machiavelli is an equal).

That solidarity is there with Connor and Edward too. But it isn't there at all with Arno which is surprising for a Revolutionary Game. He's incredibly elitist and most of the game's bad guys are poor and lower middle class. Edward and all the pirates are working class - poor soldiers and peasants(as they are called by their enemies) who turn to crime. For Adewale, being a pirate was the only justice available to him at the time. 

An Assassin from a real poor background would be amazing.

When he was in England, Karl Marx did lots of interesting things. As a journalist he chronicled the 1857 Indian Mutiny and supported Indian Independence, feeling that people had a right to self-determination and the English had no right to leech their resources and call it progress.

More interesting for Americans is that Marx supported the Union during the American Civil War, wrote letters to Lincoln and criticized English businessmen who wanted to support the South(Because of Cotton Trade), he campaigned extensively for this and the English Working Class proudly stated they didn't mind lowered wages as long as their income doesn't come from slavery, so that played a part in England not joining with the South on the Civil War. If they show that then it can make him really sympathetic.

Marx was a workaholic in habit, he wrote a lot, worked extensively in the English libraries, and since he wasn't an academic and had tenure he struggled quite a bit.

I actually want a protagonist who is not of the upper class. I want an East End street kid. Actually I would like multiple protagonists, two dudes, one woman, that actually allows us to immerse ourselves in the strict class-driven world of Victorian London, where a rich man can't be at ease in a poor area and a poor man can't fit in the world of the upper class and a woman has her own issues in either world.

If they want to explore India, I'd prefer they avoid the British Raj, since the Templars are colonialist jerks(as seen in Brahman) and I'd rather not put up with fanboys talking about how their dying speeches made them sympathetic to the fact that these guys were genuinely bringing progress to India.

I'd prefer the Mughal Era, from Akbar to Shah Jahan, you get the architecture, a totally obscure period in terms of depicting history, great architecture and you can have some freedom of movement in terms of chronicling the history.

I don't get why being a control freak is an exclusively Templar thing, Assassins are bound by strict tight obedience too, Altair mentioned this in his ironies in the Codex. Robespierre made sense as an Assassin gone extreme, someone who in the name of freedom and democracy, sends political rivals to the guillotine. The version we see in UNITY, that he's this evil puppet for the Templars to secretly co-opt the Revolution for an outside faction is extremely false and off-base of the historical record who was a genuine patriot for all his flaws. I mean even the Charles Lee and Borgia portrayals we see earlier aren't this bad. Of course an even more accurate portrayal would have been Robespierre shutting down both Assassins and Templars and sending them to the guillotine because he sees them as anti-State organizations that subvert national institutions, which to be honest would be right for any government to do.

Carroll was a mathematician and a photographer in addition to being a gifted writer of poetry and prose. He probably won't serve a purpose in the main story but I think it would be cool to see him in side missions(and not in the wretched Paris Side Stories manner I hope).

By any measure of logic, Karl Marx should be an Assassin, but I doubt that's something Ubisoft would want to go. I definitely can't see him being a Templar(but then I don't see, and still don't see, how they made Robespierre one - the fact they had to severely falsify history to do so proves my point). Marx's writings on capitalism came directly out of living and observing Victorian London at first hand.

I always thought that Haytham was Templar-Ezio, he has the same story, son wanting to avenge his father with surviving father and sister, becoming competent member of the order and rising high in the ranks. It just gets twisted a tiny bit into something dark and upsetting. And you know Ezio went into a new land and found love in istanbul, Haytham came to America and fell in Ziio only that ended up in a son on the other side. So everything that went good for Ezio turned out for bad for him.

If the game doesn't translate the action into American Accents (since the Animus knows its the Victorian Era so there's no need to have people speak in that accents) than I won't be playing this game.

Honestly I would have preferred London in the Elizabethan Era, Marlowe and Shakespeare. I suppose this will be a time to experiment with modern day assassinations.
