Faulkner had been first mate aboard the ''Aquila'' at many times, including when it was nearly destroyed in 1768. As he had a strong bond towards the ship, Faulkner had it towed to a [[Davenport Homestead|location near Boston]], and after the ''Aquila'' had been repaired through the funding of Connor, he served onboard as first mate once again.<br />

*Faulkner's voice actor, Kevin McNally, portrayed {{Wiki|Joshamee Gibbs}}, the first mate aboard the ''Black Pearl'' in the ''{{Wiki|Pirates of the Caribbean}}'' series. Faulkner also has some similarities to Gibbs, his appearance and his superstition; they both believe having a woman aboard, and stepping on the ship with a left leg first, are omens of bad luck.<br />
