==Finger amputation==

"This amputation is part of the initiation into the Hashshashin sect, which the Assassins are based on." To me, this sounds like the real life assassins did that. #Spring on Pull Switch pulls the Pull Switch down (this does not turn wheel due to the shape of the teeth, the just slip over each other) into initial position.
#When the wielder wants to retract the blade, he or she pulls on the chord again.
#Chord pulls the Pull Switch which rotates wheel 180' again.
#Arm, and therefore scissor jack, is brought back to initial position.
#Hand relaxes.
#Spring on Pull Switch pulls Pull Switch down into initial position (again without effecting the wheel).

:In Altair's blueprints the blade can be seen actioned by a ring only because the Levantine Assassins would cut their ring finger in order to weild the blade. In the trailer of Assassin's Creed 2 Ezio can be seen pulling a ring but no such thing exits in the gameplay, or wallpapers, or AC B or AC Revelations... And Da Vinci mentiones that he modified the design so that no such sacrifice would be needed anymore. You have done a great work but I believe everyone knew about this mechanism... or I knew from the moment I saw the blade.

:My theory: Machiavelli or his men find Ezio passed out on his way to Rome. He discovers that the ''bracer'' is broken, but not the blade, or any of the other killing bits. While the new robes were being made/delivered, a new bracer was made to fit the undamaged hidden blade mechanisms (gun, poison and all). The poison blade, the gun and the repaired hidden blade come from Altair's codex. I have to assume that nobody but Leonardo could have built them. He got his fathers blade back anyways, remember when they enter the sanctuary in AC brotherhood? Desmond sees ezio because of the bleeding effect and he says that ezio looks old and that ezio must have come back to the villa somewhen after the battle. We see Ezio wearing altairs Armor again and also his father hidden blade, that must mean that he got back both later in his life :)

If you watch the GI Joe movie (the newer one), you will notice that when Storm Shadow kills the Count he uses a hidden blade the looked very Assassin's Creed based. The only difference was that he had to turn a knob to retract it. Just thought this was interesting.

Desmond removed the bracer to help conceal the blade itself as a precaution should the get pulled over or found. It allowed for a lighter blade arm (an estimated pound or 2 taken off from the bracer being removed) so he could move easier and so it isn't noticed under the sweatshirt sleeve.

No one would wish to have Altairs Hidden Blade. Luckily Da Vinci managed to modify its design. Now heres why, Altairs blade required a rings finger sacrifice because of the blades harsh design. The Levantine Asassins blade was actioned by a ring which by their freestyle running would come in and out incoveniently. Imagine your blade come out while you grab on a wall. I support the idea of not being able to block, like Altair. However the ringfinger cut is bad.

How come Altair or the other Assassins never experienced this problem? I have played the games and read the book and it never mentioned it.Also if this did occur just don't use the forefinger they can climb with 9 fingers why cant they climb with 8? And both the shock blade and the modern blade have baggy arm sleeves (the sleeves seem like they're too big for the person). None-the-less....

== "Blade" designs... ==

Would it be worth mentioning in the page that the "blade" had a different design during the high middle ages and the renaissance?. i mean, altair's blade was more of a "spike" than a blade, designed to drill trough metal plates by brute force and speed and then, puncture some vital organ, as seen in Altair's finishing moves, he aims at lungs, stomach, spine and neck, rarely ever using it to "cut" and even when he does, he has to do so with extremely quick slices.

This design was even kept in the Revelations revamp (with most of the puncturing animations, btw, he sometimes gets a second blade out of nowhere...)

In contrast, Ezio's blade is a legitimate blade, used to cut trough flesh and light armor easily, but not efficient at armor piercing, hence, Ezio aims at the unarmored parts of brutes and other enemies, most commonly the neck, and cuts trought the torso of lightly armored enemies. Hey I know this isn't really appropriate, but I'm stuck in a glitch with the hidden blade in brotherhood. I've gotten my double blade quite sometime ago, and suddenly, my double blade is GONE!!!! I went to the inventory and the double blade was listed among the weapons, but when back in the game, there was no double blade. Can somebody PLSSSS HELP?

Wow, I didn't even remember posting this. Pretty pointless, now that I think about it. Anyway, as I have stated before, the Hidden Blade is apparently a proper noun, and uses capital letters. When it was first stated to a be a proper noun, I am not sure. But since I've seen it written as such and was told to do so, I've done it with capitals. In Slate's words, "''When you're referring to the Assassins' Hidden Blade, it's capitalised because it's a specific mechanism. Doesn't seem pointless to me. I mean, "Throwing Knives" makes more sense than "throwing knives" as they are the name of a specific type of blade, and I feel this constitues capitalization (or capitalisation, if you'd prefer), as for bombs, you can keep them lowercase, as they can be referring to any kind of bomb.
