Subject 16 was an individual who was kidnapped by Abstergo Industries and forced into the Animus before Desmond Miles. A descendant of both Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, and Ezio Auditore da Firenze, he was also related to Desmond Miles. It is also revealed that he had an ancestor at the Battle of Gettysburg, in the Roman forum and connected with a Queen Isabella.

Biography
Life at Abstergo
The individual known only as Subject 16 was an Assassin captured by the Templar-fronted organization Abstergo Industries at some point in 2012 for use in the genetic memory recall program. Held within the Abstergo Laboratory at all times by Warren Vidic, 16 was kept connected to the Animus for dangerously long periods, sometimes even days at a time. This led to 16 suffering from a severe condition known as the "Bleeding Effect."

Suffering the bleeding effect, 16 began to explore the memories of his ancestors without the use of the Animus , however his inability to actually control these visions forced Subject 16 into a downward spiral of insanity, eventually culminating in his suicide.

Before his death, Subject 16 was forced by Abstergo to explore the memories of an ancestor named Ezio Auditore da Firenze, who the Templars knew had located the Vault during his lifetime. 16 never relived the memories of his ancestor visiting the Vault. Draining his body of its blood to paint several cryptic messages upon the floor and walls of the Abstergo Laboratory, 16 committed suicide to prevent the Templars reaching their goals.

Legacy
Following his death, the Templars were left without the location of the Vault, but the knowledge that an ancestor of Ezio’s – Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad – had once held a Piece of Eden. Knowing this, Abstergo kidnapped yet another descendant of Ezio and Altaïr, Desmond Miles. During his incarceration, Desmond spoke often with Dr. Vidic’s assistant Lucy Stillman about many things, including his predecessor, then accessing private e-mails in-between Animus sessions, he learned even more. Later still, following Desmond’s escape from Abstergo and the beginning of his journeys through the memories of Ezio, the Assassins learned that Subject 16 had managed to hack the Abstergo Animus before his death, and placed twenty encrypted files, called glyphs, throughout the Animus' rendering of the memories. These hacks were saved onto the Abstergo Animus' memory core, which Lucy had taken in order to gain details and memory sequences on Ezio, and from there, onto Rebecca Crane's Animus 2.0.

After decrypting all twenty files, the Assassins were rewarded with a genetic memory dated "date classified BCE". The video, shows two free-runners climbing a large glass structure, Piece of Eden in hand; before referring to one another as Adam and Eve. The video also shows humans working for Those Who Came Before.

Subject 16's puzzles will return in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.

Trivia
*In the non-canon Assassin’s Creed - French Graphic Novel, Subject 16 appears alive and is referred to as "Michael".
*Many of the Glyphs have hidden messages in them. All of the decoded ones are stated in the Glyphs page.
*The achievement/trophy for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood titled ".. .- -- .- .-.. .. ...- ." translates to " I AM ALIVE." This achievement/trophy is earned by solving all of Subject 16's puzzles.
Maria Auditore da Firenze (née de' Mozzi) was the wife of Giovanni Auditore, a prominent Florentine banker and member of the Order of Assassins. She is the mother of four – Federico, Ezio, Claudia and Petruccio – and the sister-in-law of Mario Auditore. Born into the noble Mozzi family, Maria liked to mix with "real citizens" when she was younger, leading to her chance meeting with the man who would later become her husband. As part of the Auditore family, she continued to fraternize with the lower classes, developing a working relationship with the artist Leonardo da Vinci.

Aware of her husband's allegiances to the Assassins, Maria kept it a secret from her children up to his death, and upon her grieving silence, did not mention it either. As she married into the family line of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, she became an ancestor of Desmond Miles.

Biography
Assassin's Creed: Lineage
In 1476, Maria Auditore da Firenze lived happily with her husband, three sons and daughter in the heart of the city. Close to the Medici family, Maria was by this time aware of her husband's duties as an Assassin, and would tend his wounds should he receive them.

With their second son, Ezio, then seventeen, Maria felt it time for Giovanni to tell him of his heritage.

Assassin's Creed II
She is first seen during Ezio's birth. The day following Ezio's fight with Vieri de' Pazzi on the Florentine bridge, Maria had him walk with her to collect a number of commissioned paintings from the artist Leonardo da Vinci, introducing the two in the process. She was at home when the city guards arrived to take away her husband and sons; when she protested, it is suggested that the guards sexually assaulted her. When Ezio returned home, he discovered that his mother's assault, as well as the arrests, had shocked her into silence. She and Claudia were then taken to Paola's house by their maid, Annetta.

A few days later, Ezio returned, wearing the robes of his father and bringing the fateful news of the execution.

She then followed Ezio and Claudia to the Villa Auditore in the town of Monteriggioni. Arriving in the town, Maria took up residence in the Villa, refusing to speak and constantly praying over the feathers that her youngest son, Petruccio, used to collect. Eventually, after Ezio had collected 100 feathers for his mother to watch over, Maria hugged him and spoke once more, thanking her son for not forgetting about her. As a reward for his collection of the feathers, Maria bestowed Ezio with a cape embossed with the Auditore family crest.

In the official novel Assassin's Creed: Renaissance, Maria does not spend all her time in prayer over Petruccio's feathers, but spends time within Monteriggioni's convent. It is stated that it helps her to do simple tasks, though a full recovery is never shown, and it is unsaid as to whether she later goes to the Villa Auditore with Claudia. She is mentioned very little after settling into her new life at Monteriggioni.

It is shown that she is in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and is perfectly alive and well after the attack of Monteriggioni. She and Claudia come to live with Ezio in Rome while he pursues Cesare Borgia.
Trivia
*She is one of the characters whose appearance never ages.
*Maria prays for 12-23 years, since all of the places that have feathers are not unlocked until Sequence 9 of Assassin's Creed II.
*She seems to be a skilled surgeon, as she is seen stitching up Giovanni's near-fatal wound in Lineage.
*Maria married Giovanni (14 at the time) when she was 18.
*She only speaks in three parts in the game: during Ezio's birth, in the quest "Friend of the Family" and when given 100 feathers.
Customization is a gameplay mechanic of Assassin's Creed II. In the Tailor shops in all of the cities, the player can dye Ezio's clothing, although the possible color schemes depend on which city they are in. You can always switch back to your normal color, Assassin White, for free. You can unlock the achievement, "Perfect Harmony", by dyeing your clothes with both "Wetlands Ebony" and "Wetlands Ivory", both colors are available in Romagna/Forli.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, you can as well customize the new assassins with different armor colors and outfits. You can also dye Ezio's Master Assassin robes.

Dyes
For a list of dyes, their locations and prices, see: Tailors.

Dyes have a common characteristic: a prefix on their names which states where the dye originated from.
*"Florentine" for Florence.
*"Tuscan" for Tuscany (Monteriggioni included).
*Getting the achievement 'Perfect Harmony', by dying your outfit 'Wetlands Ebony' and 'Wetlands' Ivory', is a clear reference to Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's 'Ebony and Ivory' hit, in which the first line of the track is "Ebony and Ivory live together in perfect harmony".
This means that if you want to switch back to another dye you've already purchased in the past (apart from Assassin White), you'll have to buy it again. This can lead some players to spend a lot of money especially in the very first parts of the game.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, you can as well customize the new assassins with different armor colours and outfits.

*"Wetlands" for Romagna.
*"Venetian" for Venice.

Trivia
*In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, you can customize Ezio's apprentices with Venetian colors even though the game takes place in Rome.
*The various dyes don't remain (for obvious reasons) "unlocked". This means that if you want to switch back to another dye you've already purchased in the past (apart from Assassin White), you'll have to buy it again. This can lead some players to spend a lot of money especially in the very first parts of the game.
*IF Altair's Armour is dyed, the appearance of the robes won't change color.
*In the Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood 'Darkness in Rome' trailer you can see that you can dye Ezio's Master Assassin robes.
thumb|right|300px|Broom Gameplay.
In Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, besides the purchasable "proper" weapons and the two-handed weapons such as spears and halberds, Ezio Auditore can also use "improper" weapons. These weapons include:
*Brooms
*Hoes
*Rakes
*Fishing poles
*Pitch forks
*Violins (the stringed instruments that are used by certain Minstrels, only available during Carnevale)
*The parts of a broken spear (upper part acts like a sword, lower part like a mace)
*Invisible sword (uses the unarmed slot, swings like a sword when attacking, allows only instant kills and counters, and is lost when wall running)

The above can be picked up like two-handed weapons. They are discarded once a fight is finished, or once Ezio enters a Free Running sequence. These weapons act mainly as hammers or maces, using the same animations and sound effects.

These "weapons" cannot be kept, and their attacks are sometimes nonsensical. For example, Ezio can slice an enemy's throat with a broom after a grab, exactly the way he does with a sword. These objects can be taken from civilians. They will drop what they're carrying once Ezio gently pushes or runs into them, when a fight starts, or if you throw money near the person.

To use the invisible sword glitch, simply use a spear counter on a two-handed guard, and try punching, you will notice that Ezio does the sword animation when swinging or blocking.

In Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, the Spring Cleaning achievement/trophy can be earned by killing a guard with a broom.

Trivia
*Some improper weapons CAN be kept with a glitch, but will be lost when going to another city or randomly during excessive combat. To do this, you cannot have a weapon in your sword sheath, which can be done by letting a brute smash your sword or mace away. Afterwards, simply pick up one of the improper weapons, and you may be able to keep them. This only works for certain improper weapons, however, such as the blunt bottom part of a broken spear.
*Guards can also use these improper weapons, as long as you disarm them and there is no other weapon available. They will pick up any improper weapon except the invisible sword (as this is merely a glitch). It's easier to make guards use them during DNA Sequence 1, as guards won't have weapons.
*When you rescue the Assassin Bartolomeo d'Alviano in the mission Caged Fighter, he uses a broom to fight until he picks up a proper weapon from a fallen guard.
*The violin sounds like a sword, but acts like a mace.
*If you want to drop your sword, just go to Monteriggioni and practice "Picking Up Weapons", and Ezio's sword will immediately drop right out of his scabbard automatically.

Florence (Italian: Firenze) was a major city in northern Italy and home of the notable Auditore family during the late 15th Century. During this time, the city was ruled by the venerable Lorenzo de' Medici of the House of Medici.

History of Florence
Florence was founded during the Roman era, in the year 60 BC, although it would be some 1,400 years before it rose to become one of Italy's most important cities. The cradle of the Renaissance, the Medici run city placed a focus on the art and science, as well as being the birthplace of the modern banking system; the city was also home to some of Italy's most notable figures, including Leonardo da Vinci, Boticelli, Michelangelo, Niccolò Machiavelli and the infamous Auditore family. At some point after the year 1291, the assassin Domenico and his son came to live in Florence, adopting the name of Auditore and becoming a part of the city's nobility.

The city flourished during the reign of Lorenzo de' Medici, and during this reign, great artists, philosophers and others had contributed to the city's development. Various architectural marvels blessed the streets of Florence, such as the Santa Maria Novella, the Piazza della Signoria, Il Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. The beauty of Florence was not immune to the troubles of the real world however, and like other cities in the regions had enemies. One of the Medici's foremost defences was the assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, who often worked on the behalf of Lorenzo de' Medici up until 1476.

However, the presence of the assassin in Florence proved problematic for the Knights Templar, who sought control of the city; organizing the execution of Giovanni alongside his sons Federico and Petruccio. Rodrigo Borgia and the House of Pazzi begun plans to assume control of the city. In 1478, the Pazzi attacked Lorenzo and his brother Giuliano de' Medici just before Sunday mass, killing Giuliano and wounding Lorenzo in the neck; saved only by the timely arrival of the sole surviving male Auditore – Ezio; Lorenzo ordered the deaths of Pazzi conspirators, and was quickly given his wish in the form of Francesco de' Pazzi. The city remained in Medici hands.

The sudden death of Lorenzo de' Medici saddened the city, as it had been said that the entire city was at his funeral, including Giromalo Savonarola, a Dominican Priest. Following Lorenzo's in 1492, control of the city passed into the hands of Girolamo Savonarola, who had been using a Piece of Eden to gain control over the masses. Savonarola disagreed with the Renaissance, and preached a return to the medieval way of life and by 1494 had assumed complete control of the city. He remained in control until the year 1498 when the assassin Ezio Auditore returned to his home city and killed the nine lieutenants of Savonarola, before ensuring the death of Savonarola himself.

During Savonarola's reign Florence became "hell on earth"; Savonarola imposed a theocratic and dogmatic regime, instigating the infamous Bonfire of the Vanities in 1497. His followers collected and burned all objects that could lead to sin; non-religious books, mirrors, arts, jewels or fine clothing, to name a few. However, following Savonarola's death, the city passed back into the hands of the Medici.

Database entry
Founded by Julius Caesar in 59 B.C.E., Florentia, as it was called by the Romans, quickly became a centre of commerce.

After the sacking of Rome, in the 5th Century, the Ostrogoths took over. Under their rule, the city was constantly under attack from the Byzantines, who sent the population level below 1,000. The Lombards came to power in the 6th Century, ending the Byzantine assaults.

Florence grew to a population of 80,000 in the 14th Century, of which 25,000 were working in the wool industry. In 1378, a major revolt of the lower class led to the wool combers rising up and seizing the government of the city. Their progressive, radical democracy lasted for less than 2 months before the upper classes seized control once more, but the revolt so terrified the rich, that a century later it was still discussed in hushed tones, much as the 1960s hippy movement is today.

The Albizzi family became the de facto rulers after the revolt. Worried about the rise of the Medici family, who were newly rich bankers rapidly gaining influence in Florence, Maso and Rinaldo Albizzi imprisoned Cosimo de' Medici and exiled him in 1433. But Cosimo gained influence behind the scenes, and rose to power in 1434, exiling the entire Albizzi family except for Luca, who had been loyal to Cosimo. Luca Albizzi joined the Signoria, the ruling body of Florence, as Gonfaloniere, succeeding Cosimo's old friend Ilario Auditore in 1442.

Under the Medici family, which built impressive public buildings and supported such luminaries as Michelangelo, Leonardo and Botticelli, the Renaissance began with Florence securely at its centre.

Landmarks
Aside from the ones listed below, players will also be able to see Basilica di Santa Croce, Palazzo Vecchio, Giotto's Campanile and Ponte Vecchio.

Santa Maria del Fiore
:Main: Santa Maria del Fiore

The construction of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (also referred to as the Duomo), began in 1296 in the Gothic style, following the design of Arnolfo di Cambio. It was completed structurally in 1436 with the dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi. The Basilica appears in Assassin's Creed II in Florence, as it should. The tower is climbable and has a View Point on the very top of it. Also, the interior is accessible as Iltani's Assassin's Tomb. When this side-mission is entered, Ezio needs to climb through the interior of the church, until the lanterna on top.

Santa Maria Novella
:Main: Santa Maria Novella

Santa Maria Novella is a church in Florence, situated just across the main railway station that shares its name. Chronologically, it is the first great basilica in Florence, and is the city's principal Dominican church. The church, the adjoining cloister, and chapter house contain a store of art treasures and funerary monuments. Especially famous are frescoes by masters of Gothic and early Renaissance. They were financed through the generosity of the most important Florentine families, who ensured themselves of funerary chapels on consecrated ground. In Assassin's Creed II, the basilica houses an Assassin's Tomb.

Assassination Targets
*Uberto Alberti; the Gonfaloniere (DNA Sequence 2: Vengeance)
*Francesco de' Pazzi; Patriarch of the Pazzi Family (DNA Sequence 4: Bloody Sunday)
*Girolamo Savonarola; monk in control of Florence (DNA Sequence 13: Bonfire of the Vanities)

Southern Florence
The southernmost area of Florence is unreachable to the player in the main game; wherein attempting to cross a bridge over the river will cause Desmond to desynchronize. Although you cannot reach the other side, map icons for posters will appear there when you are notorious. Several eagle viewpoints are also visible. The Oltrarno district was released as part of the Bonfire of the Vanities downloadable content, along with the sprint jump ability, which allows Ezio to sprint and jump off of flag posts in southern Florence. The sprint jump is only usable here.

Trivia
Oddly, missing from in front of the main entrance to the church is the Battistero di San Giovanni, which was built several hundred years before the events of the game.

Florence is the largest city including the Oltrarno District, which is unlocked when Bonfire of the Vanities is downloaded.

Florence will also appear as a Multiplayer Map in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Venice (Italian: Venezia) was an island city in northern Italy and capital to the Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia. It is famous for its expansive canal system. Venice is the largest settlement in Assassin's Creed II, with 5 districts, San Polo, San Marco, Dorsoduro, Cannaregio and the Castello districts. Venice is a confirmed multiplayer map in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

History
During the 15th Century, Venice was capital of the Most Serene Republic of Venice (Venetian: (Serenìsima) Repùblica Vèneta or Repùblica de Venesia, Italian: Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia), often referred to as La Serenissima in reference to its title in Venetian, and largest city of the republic. Historically founded by refugees from the Hunnic and Germanic invasion of Padua, Aquileia, and Altino, Venice developed to become a major trade and naval power in southern Europe, and by the year 1499 was engaged in sporadic conflict with the Ottoman Empire.

Even during the 13th Century Venice had a notable Assassin presence, the area surrounding Venice was home to an assassin and his son – Domenico. Both enjoyed the patronage of the famed explorer Marco Polo, an ally of the Assassins. Their presence continued on into the 15th Century, occupying positions of command amongst the thieves, mercenaries and courtesans of the city.

By the Renaissance Era, Venice was one of the richest cities in the world. It consisted of five districts. The San Polo District was the center of commerce, containing many markets, and was also the location of the Venetian Thieves' Guild. The San Marco District was the administrative center of the city, containing government buildings such as the Palazzo Ducale, the residence of the Doge. The Dorsoduro District attracted many artists, and was where many festivals in Venice, such as Carnevale, took place. The Castello District was largely centered around the Venetian military, and was where its powerful navy was based and maintained. The Canareggio District was a run-down area that eventually became Venice's ghetto, the area to which Jews were relegated, forbidden to go elsewhere in the city.

Following the Templar failure to capture Florence during the Pazzi conspiracy, Rodrigo Borgia and his allies – the Barbarigo family – step up their plans to take control of the city of Venice. Influencing powerful members of Venetian government, such as Carlo Grimaldi, the Knights Templar assassinated the Doge Giovanni Mocenigo and placed one of their own on the throne; Marco Barbarigo. By this time however, the Florentine assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze had arrived in Venice and begun to counter the Templar plot.

Following the assassination of Marco Barbarigo and the ascension of his brother Agostino, an ally to the Assassins, Ezio Auditore chased down the last remaining Barbarigos' Silvio, cousin to Agostino, and his man servant Dante Moro to L'Arsenale di Venezia and liberated the city's military district. It was here that the assassin learned that the Templar plot to acquire Venice had merely been a distraction for the assassins', so that the Templar's might safely dispatch their vessel to Cyprus.

Landmarks
Like Florence, Venice was home to many notable landmarks; these included the Basilica, Piazza and Campanile di San Marco, the Palazzo Ducale, the Grand Canal, the Little Canal, and Ponte di Rialto. Annually, the city hosted the famed Carnevale in the south of the city. Typically, it was celebrated with fireworks, carnival performers and a series of games; the winner being awarded with a Golden Mask that permitted entrance to the Doge's personal party.

Basilica di San Marco
The Basilica di San Marco was a famous cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice. The most famous of the city's churches and one of the best known examples of Byzantine architecture, it lay on the Piazza San Marco adjacent and connected to the Palazzo Ducale.

For its opulent design, gilded Byzantine mosaics, and its status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power, from the 11th century on the building was known by the nickname Chiesa d'Oro (Church of Gold).

At some point in its history, the Basilica became home to one of six Assassin's Tombs hidden throughout northern Italy. The tomb was buried beneath the Basilica, and was accessible only after pulling four timed triggers.

Palazzo Ducale
The Palazzo Ducale di Venezia, or the Doge's Palace, was an opulent personal residence for the Doge of Venice, the ruler of La Serenissima Repubblica di Venezi.

Its high, blank walls made it unscalable from all sides, protecting the palace from intruders; within was a large courtyard flanked on all sides by an arched corridor. It was here that Ezio assassinates Carlo Grimaldi, who had in turn just assassinated the Doge, Giovanni Mocenigo.

Santa Maria dei Frari
Santa Maria dei Frari was a famous church in central Venice and an important Templar base in the city. Known most commonly simply as Frari, it's bell tower was considered unscalable to all but the Guild of Thieves.
Uberto Alberti (1416 - 1476) was the gonfaloniere of Firenze, a family friend of the Auditore's and Lorenzo de' Medici's ally during the time of Assassin's Creed: Lineage and Assassin's Creed II, but betrayed them by issuing an arrest on Giovanni, Federico, Petruccio and Ezio (though he escapes it) by order of Rodrigo Borgia. He is also Ezio's first assassination target in the game. His family was evicted by the Medici bank and he ached for revenge. He was given the opportunity by the Templars. He is also considered one of the greatest lawyers in the Italian Renaissance, even though he had no formal education in Law, due to the fact that he was self-taught. He is portrayed by Michel Perron in Assassin's Creed: Lineage.

Uberto aids both Giovanni and Lorenzo by giving them advice, but when Giovanni discovers possible evidence of the Templar's plans, Uberto gets rid of it, revealing his true allegiance.

Assassin's Creed II
Ezio meets Uberto in Giovanni's office conversing about something urgent, though Ezio is dismissed by his father before he can understand what they were talking about. Soon, Giovanni sends Ezio with a letter containing evidence that he must give to Uberto. Ezio does as his father asks, swiftly making it to Uberto's house (where Rodrigo is currently at).

Uberto immediately knows what's in the envelope and asks Ezio if he would like to stay at his house, though Ezio declines; a decision that most likely saves his life. Soon after receiving the letter, Uberto accuses Giovanni, Federico, Petruccio and Ezio (though he escapes because of his errands) of treason. At the day of the execution, Giovanni reminds Uberto of evidence given to him by Ezio that proves his family innocent, but much to his surprise, Uberto claims that he doesn't know what he is talking about, sentencing the three to death.

With the sight of their deaths, Ezio runs up to the front the stage claiming that he will kill Uberto for what he has done, but a Brute Guard disarms Ezio before he could get close enough. Escaping the guards, Ezio heads for Paola, leader of the courtesans, who is watching his mother and sister. After a few days of training Ezio, Paola tracks down Uberto for Ezio's vengeance. Ezio follows Alberti to the Santa Croce cloister where he is attending an art exhibition of Maestro Verrochio"s work.

He is seen speaking with Lorenzo de' Medici about the executions and insults Lorenzo. After Ezio dispatches the guards watching the courtyard of the Santa Croce, he sees Uberto speaking with various attending nobles who are congratulating him for the executions. Afterwords, he sees Ezio approaching but, before he can call the guards, Ezio brutally kills Uberto with his hidden blade, stabbing him 5 times in the chest. Avenging his father and brothers, Ezio proclaims to everyone in the courtyard that the Auditore are not dead.

Letter to Uberto's wife
After Ezio kills Alberti, he finds an undelivered letter to his wife in the man's wallet :

My love,

I put these thoughts to paper in the hope that I might one day have the courage to share them with you. In time, you'll no doubt learn that I betrayed Giovanni, labeled him a traitor and sentenced him to die.

History will likely judge this to have been a matter of politics and greed. Know that it was not hate that forced my hand, but fear. When the Medici robbed us of all we owned, I found myself afraid. For you. For our son. For the future. What hope in this world for a man without proper means?

They offered me money, land and title in exchange for my collaboration. And so, this is how I came to betray my closest friend. However unspeakable the act, it seemed necessary at the time. And even now, looking back, I see no other way...

Final words
thumb|300px|right|Uberto Alberti database video.
Uberto: You...(if left alive for a few moments he will call for the guards) Guards! Arrest him!.... Abbattetelo (Put him down.)

(Uberto is stabbed in the chest several times. Scene in Animus starts.)

Uberto: You would have done the same, to save the ones you love...

Ezio: Yes...I would. And I have!

Trivia
*Uberto saved the Templars from many close calls by destroying evidence of their conspiracy, and hindering their enemies' progress.
*It should be noted that Ezio assassinates Alberti in a rather "sloppy" manner, considering that he does so by stabbing him with the hidden blade at least six or seven times on the chest, rather than plunging the blade into his target's throat in the traditional assassination technique. Of course, this could be easily explained and understandable to most, since it is Ezio's first time tracking down an assassination target, and he has not yet been extensively trained. He may also be simply venting his fury on the man who destroyed his family.
*According to the Animus database's filter, Uberto is not a Templar (despite plotting with them). However, when viewing the portraits of Ezio's victims in his room of the Villa Auditore, Uberto's portrait says he is a Templar.
*It should be noted that, just as Uberto says "I see no other way" in his letter, Ezio sometimes uses the phrase when he assassinates other targets.
*If you watch carefully at the end of his database video, it shows four ropes on the gallows (instead of the three shown in the game), probably because the extra one was meant for Ezio.

After becoming Master of the Order, Altaïr used the knowledge from within the Apple to construct a lightweight, yet unbreakable set of armor.

History
Unlike the robes Altaïr wore during the events of Assassin's Creed, this armor provided more protection against attacks and was dyed black/red. Due to its advanced design, it looks closer to the armor Giovanni and Ezio wore than Altaïr's original armor. The armor is seen in Assassin's Creed II.

Assassin's Creed II
Years later, Altaïr's armor was stored inside a vault below the Auditore Villa, locked behind bars which only opened when all six seals from hidden Assassins' tombs were collected and placed on their respective statues. As each seal was placed, a bar (to which the placed seal corresponds) retracted into the wall. When all six seals were placed, the bars that block access to the Altaïr's armor retracted into the floor, granting access to the armor. Altaïr's armor was the most powerful armor in Assassin's Creed II. Since it couldn't break, it didn't need to be repaired, which saved the user a great deal of florins. Unfortunately, the armor couldn't be dyed visibly when worn. In Altaïr's Codex Pages, he claimed to have created a new metal which was incredibly strong whilst being light as a feather. In a contrast to other Assassins' robes, Altaïr's armor was black, while Ezio and Altaïr originally wore white. The black color scheme could be attributed to the rank of Grandmaster of the Syrian Assassins' Sect, which Altaïr obtained after defeating Al Mualim. Once Ezio obtained it, it could be taken on and off in the Auditore Family Villa in the armor room. Altaïr's armor had to be worn all at once: you couldn't mix it with other armor sets/types. It's important to note that while the armor was unbreakable, it was not a full body suit, which explained how Ezio could be damaged while wearing it.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
Altaïr's armor was possibly lost during the Templar attack on the Villa Auditore in 1499. While the armor was in the room when he found out about the attack Ezio probably didn't grab it because the cannonball that broke through the wall had scattered it and he was rushed to join the fight. The armor was virtually indestructible, which would have been crucial to Ezio as he'd have been more able to resist Cesare Borgia's gunmen. Due to its nature, it most likely survived the raid but may have been buried underneath the rubble of the villa.

If you look closely at Ezio's new robes in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood they look very similar to Altaïr's armor only Ezio's robes are white and Altaïr's armor was black. This is most likely because the Armor of Altaïr is both a set of armor and the robes of a Master Assassin, and Ezio would most likely have reached that rank by the beginning of this game, since he leads the Assassins in Rome.
Trivia
*According to a piece of concept art, it seems that the armor was intended to be an invention by Leonardo da Vinci before being a creation of Altaïr.
*While wearing the armor the hood is never down during cut-scenes where it would normally be down if wearing Giovanni's assassin robes.
*The cloak for Altaïr's Armor, in addition to being black, is much longer than the one Ezio would wear with the other armors, and made up of three layers. Each layer is longer than the one above it, and the longest, lower layer is segmented, which gives the whole piece a look resembling Eagle's Wings. The back of the lower layer is also split down the middle, making it behave much like Altaïr's cloak from the original game, where each side would move up and down as the back of Altaïr's legs pushed against them.
*It is interesting to note that the Chest Guard of Altaïr and Pauldrons of Altaïr somewhat resemble Roman Lorica segmentata. Also, the cape-pauldron seems to be composed of leather. Plus, the Vambraces of Altaïr resemble golden Missaglias and Guard Captains wear similar vambraces. The Greaves of Altaïr also bear a strong resemblance to leather.
*The Robes that come with the armor look like a cross between Al Mualim's, Altaïr's and Giovanni's robes.
*Altaïr's armor, unlike other armors in the game, can only be worn as a full set.
*Despite having been created by Altaïr probably in the 13th century, the armor set corresponds with 15th century Italian fashion. This could be attributed to the armored parts of the outfit being created in the 13th century while the cloth sections where added at a later time period, closer to the 15th century.
*It is also interesting to note that while Altaïr's armor is the strongest armor in the game the Missaglias Vambraces give the player one extra health point whereas Altaïr's armor does not.
*Though it is not mandatory to complete the 6 tombs, the player must get all the seals to get full synchronization.
