Has it ever been officially confirmed anywhere? I'm almost positive it's Jan Alexandra Smith, but that's based only on my own year. 173.160.130.14 21:25, January 20, 2014 (UTC)

Description
Edward, having been imprisoned, worked with Ah Tabai to rescue Mary Read and Anne Bonny.

Dialogue
Edward was led into the trial of Mary Read and Anne Bonny.
*Judge: The charges, sir. I'll hear them again.
*Official: Milord. His Majesty's Court contends that the defendants, Mary Read and Anne Bonny, did piratically, feloniously, and in an hostile manner, attack, engage, and take seven certain fishing boats... Secondly, this court contends that the defendants lurked upon the high seas and did set upon, shoot at, and take, two certain merchant sloops, thus putting the captains and their crews in corporeal fear of their lives.
*Rogers: Edward James Kenway. Born of motley parentage in Swansea... to an English father and Welsh mother. Married at eighteen to Miss Caroline Scott, now estranged.
*Torres: She is a beautiful woman, I'm told. But not at all well these days.
*Edward: If you touch her, you bastards, I'll-
*Torres: Quite a surprise finding you here, rotting in a Jamaican prison. We heard rumours that you had taken up with the pirate Roberts.
*Rogers: If you know the Observatory's location, tell us now and you'll be out of here in a flash.
*Torres: Rogers can hold these British hounds at bay for a time. But this will be your fate if you fail to cooperate.
*Judge: ...You, Mary Read and Anne Bonny, are to go from hence to the place from whence you came, and from thence to the place of execution, where you shall be severally hanged by the neck till you are severally dead, dead, dead.
*Anne: O rot!
*Judge: May God in his infinite mercy be merciful to each of your souls...
*Mary: We're pregnant! Do you all hear that?
*Judge: What the devil did she say?
*Official: They plead their bellies, Milord.
*Anne: Aye! You can't hang a woman quick with child, can ya?
*Judge: Quiet! Quiet! If what you claim is true, then your executions will be stayed, but ONLY until your terms are up.
*Anne: Then I'll be up the duff the next time you come knocking!
*Judge: Remove them!
Four months after the trial, Edward was locked in one of Kingston's gibbets.
*Soldier 1: What's your name, pillock? Kenmore? Conway?
*Soldier 2: It's Walpole, ain't it?
*Soldier 1: Walpole? Where'd you get that?
*Soldier 2: That's the rumor going 'round. As dirty and daft a pirate as ever sailed these West Indies.
*Soldier 1: Well, whatever his name, you're to make sure he suffers without dying. Orders from the governor. And back to the prisons at sundown.
*Soldier 2: And massage his feet if he's aching, shall I?
*Edward: Jaysus, a shit detail as ever was.
*Soldier 1: This is a warning!
Edward rattled his cage to distract the guards.
*Edward: Oy!
*Soldier 2: Stop your twaddle!
*Edward: Oy! Water!
*Soldier 1: Quiet!
*Edward: Oy!
*Soldier 2: Quiet you!
Ah Tabai assassinated the guards.
*Ah Tabai: Good morning, captain Kenway. I have a gift for you.
Ah Tabai took the cage key from one of the soldiers' bodies, and tossed it to Edward, who released himself.
*Ah Tabai: Do not mistake my purpose here. I have come for Anne and Mary, and you owe me nothing for this. But if you would lend me your aid, I can promise you safe passage from this place.
*Edward: I'll need weapons.
*Ah Tabai: You are comfortable with these, I am told...
Edward was given two Hidden Blades, a blowpipe, and a supply of darts for the latter.
*Ah Tabai: We must hurry.
Edward found Jack Rackham's corpse in a gibbet.
*Edward: You weren't much of a friend, Jack Rackham. Nor an able sailor neither. But you were strange and lively, and you made me laugh more than once. And that's enough to make me sorry for seeing you like this. I hope you found a lasting peace, down there, among the dead.
Edward and Ah Tabai entered the prison complex.
*Charles Vane: Here's a health to the king and a lasting peace / To faction an end, to wealth increase; / Come, let us drink it while we have breath, / For there's no drinking after death, / and he that will this health deny, down among the dead men, / Down among the dead men, / Down, down, down, down, / Down among the dead men let him lie.
*Edward: Hello, Vane. I caught wind you'd been discovered and brought here. Didn't hear what happened after though. Best of luck to you mate. I wish we'd parted as friends.
*Anne: You spineless cockrobin! Help her, for God's sake. Fetch help, somebody! Mary's ill! Somebody please!
*Soldier 3: Hush your pie hole, bloody mick!
*Anne: Fuck off, you! Ahoy! My friend's just had a child, and she's... and she's poorly now! Help, somebody!
*Soldier 4: Shut your bleeding trap, or I'll fill it my own way!
*Anne: (English) bastards! Murderers! Grown men, the pair of you, standing over a dying lady like she was a piece of meat!
*Soldier 3: A dying pirate! There's your difference!
*Soldier 4: Aye. If she dies from childbirth, all the better, eh? God carries out her sentence and our hands are clean.
*Anne: You bastards! Somebody help!
Edward dispatched the two guards.
*Edward: Mary? Mary, it's me! Edward!
*Anne: Edward? Who's this fella!
*Edward: It's all right, Anne. He's a friend. What's wrong with Mary?
*Anne: She's ill.
*Edward: And her child?
*Anne: They took her. No idea where. Ah!
*Ah Tabai: I know it pains, M'lady. But we must be silent.
*Edward: Can you walk? Lean on me, Mary. Come on.
*Edward: You're such a pain in the arse. Damn it, you should have been the one to outlast me.
*Mary: I've done my part. Will you?
*Edward: If you came with me, I could. Mary?
*Mary: I'll be with you, Kenway. I will.
Mary passed away and Edward carried her body outside.
*Soldier 7: Fan out! Search every nook and cranny!
*Anne: What's happened with Mary? What's wrong?
*Anne: Oh, no... Oh, God!
*Ah Tabai: What will you do now?
*Edward: Nothing sensible.
*Ah Tabai: You haven't earned these, but they suit you. Good fortune to you, Edward Kenway.
Edward escaped captivity, along with Anne Bonny, but Mary Read died after childbirth.
Only reason I can think of for it not to be on there is that it's a touchy subject, but if the game made the reference then you've no right to remove it. 86.143.39.155 18:13, July 4, 2013 (UTC)
I'd like to have some opinions on some of these so-called Easter Eggs, which don't seem intentional to me at all.

These being:
*Palazzo Ducale: Entering it is a glitch, not an easter egg. The world never changes in AC2, so the chess pieces are obviously in the same position as they used to be. And the sky changes its colour for an obvious reason: The room only appears in a cinematic cutscene, so these little tricks are used by the developers in order to create atmosphere.
*Abduction (2011 film): Seriously, there are loads of examples of guys with a similar scar. And blendings with a crowd is nothing that only appears in AC too. I highly doubt that this is supposed to be a reference.
*Dragon Age II: Not too sure about these too, to be honest. They might actually be references, but they just seem much too subtle for that.
*Hero Smash: Same as above.. It could be a reference, but I doubt it.
*Killzone 3: The helmets don't really resemble an Assassin hood. And hidden blade like weapons were used in movies and games long before AC.
*LittleBig Planet: If we keep that one, we have to add Soul Calibur too in my opinion..
Your thoughts? StPerkele 20:37, December 11, 2011 (UTC)

I think we should remove the Abduction (2011 film), Hero Smah and Killzone 3 references, but the other three seem legit. The Palazzo Ducale is likely a glitch, but I think we should keep it just so people know about it. About LittleBigPlanet and having to add Soulcalibur, I think we should just add information on Ezio's appearance in Soul Calibur V when Soul Calibur V is released, just so we'll have accurate information on it ;)

Personally, I think we should remove the reference of Altair's skin in Prince of Persia: Prodigy, because I think that Prince of Persia: Prodigy is just another name for Prince of Persia (2008), isn't it? If the games are different, we should keep it, but if they're referring to the same game, then having it there is simply redundant :P

Here's a link to the Prince of Persia: Prodigy's CG trailer. I'm fairly certain that it's just Prince of Persia (2008).
Hey everyone, just found something that might or might not be considered as an easter egg, so I'm hoping for some professional judging. When i watched a gameplay video of Vlad The Impaler's Prison recently, I noticed something: The skull in the final cutscene when retrieving the sword (so to be perfectly accurate, the skull which is Vlad's head locked away in the cell) is missing all his teeth except for two long fangs. Considering that the Dracula myth partially evolved from Vlad, I reckon that this was intentional. StPerkele 22:40, February 1, 2012 (UTC)
Freerunning is a form of acrobatics, in which participants navigate through a landscape by performing fluid movements over and across urban or natural structures.

This particular form of movement was utilized primarily by members of the Assassin Order, and was a vital asset both during and after assassinations. Over time, Assassins would also use a series of tools to supplement their climbing and freerunning abilities.

Additionally, freerunning was integrated into the Animi Training Program, in order for Abstergo recruits to mimic the skills learned predominantly by Assassins in history.

Vertical movement
In general, vertical movements involved climbing or scaling structures that provided adequate handholds, or a texture rough enough to grip. Inversely, they also allowed one to safely drop down from a height.
*Wallpass was the act of climbing a tall wall by kicking its surface once to propel upwards.
*Climb-up was the movement of pulling oneself up onto an obstacle from a hanging position.

*Drop was the act of jumping downwards, after releasing one's grip from a hanging position or bar.
*Long jump was a leap from a high height, and was usually followed by a break fall.
*Climb leap was a vertical jump while holding onto a vertical surface, which allowed one to grab potentially out-of-reach handholds.
*Beam jump was performed from horseback, and allowed one to use the horse's momentum to leap from the saddle, grab a beam, and swing around to either land on it, or on an adjacent one.
*Leap of Faith was performed only by trained Assassins and Abstergo recruits, which involved leaping from a significant height onto a cushioned material.

Horizontal movement
Horizontal movements generally involved moving over large distances, or methods that allowed one to clear obstacles, such as gaps or breaks.

*Swing was a movement in which one swung onto a bar and let go, enabling one to grab another object or drop to the ground.
*Pass involved quickly and smoothly passing over medium sized obstacles.

*Break fall was a forward roll where the hands, arms, and diagonal of the back made contact with the ground.
*Arm jump was to land on the side of an obstacle in a hanging position, hands gripping the top edge and holding the body in place.
*Back eject was to jump backwards from a hanging position onto an opposite structure.
*Gap jump was performed similarly to a long jump, except over an open expanse between two relatively level areas.
*Precision jump was a moving jump from one object to a specific spot on another object, usually with a small surface.
*Dive was only used with merchant stalls, where one jumped hands-first through an open stall and used a roll to get back up quickly.
*Spring jump could only be done using a springboard, such as those in the Oltrarno District of Florence. It allowed one to jump forward twice as far, through the external force of the device.
*Corner swing was when one would sharply turn a corner, by jumping forward and grabbing onto a lantern (or any other fixture) mounted on a building's corner, before using one's momentum to swing on it.
*Vault was to use one's own momentum to slide over or under obstacles.

As they used freerunning for travel and escape, Assassins (or their allies) developed tools that would improve their abilities. Among these were the Climb Leap Glove manufactured by Leonardo da Vinci, and the Hookblade, which was used by the Assassins of the Turkish branch.

Though the climb leap technique could also be performed unaided, the Climb Leap Glove improved the strength of one's grip, and allowed older or less experienced individuals to perform the technique.

The Hookblade aided in both vertical and horizontal movement. When used with ziplines posted on Constantinople's rooftops, the Hookblade allowed one to travel great diagonal distances much quicker than running or climbing normally. The device also extended one's reach upwards during a climb leap, or forwards during an arm jump.

Trivia

*Corner swing was when one would sharply turn a corner, by jumping forward and grabbing onto a lantern (or any other fixture) mounted on a building's corner, before using one's momentum to swing on it.
*Vault was to use one's own momentum to slide over or under obstacles.
Among these were the Climb Leap Glove manufactured by Leonardo da Vinci, and the Hookblade, which was used by the Assassins of the Turkish branch.
The Hookblade aided in both vertical and horizontal movement. *There was a bug present in most installments of the series, where civilians in certain areas or circumstances were able to perform freerunning movements.
*Other than the Assassins, several factions were also known to be adept freerunners; including Agile guards, Thieves, Borgia Messengers, Papal Guards, Followers of Romulus, and Janissaries. A few Templars have also proven to be good freerunners, such as Lucy Stillman, Francesco de'Pazzi, and Haytham Kenway.
*Freerunning puzzles have become a mainstay in the series since Assassin's Creed II, coming in the form of Assassin Tombs, Templar Lairs, Lairs of Romulus, and Memory Seal locations.

Sibrand (1157 - 1191) was the leader of the Knights Teutonic, and secretly a member of the Templar Order. He was the seventh of the Nine, who were killed by the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Like his Templar brothers, Sibrand's death was commanded by Al Mualim. As the Grand Master of the Knights Teutonic, Sibrand held authority over the port area of Acre's middle district, until his death in 1191.

Biography
Teutonic leader
By 1191, Sibrand had become the Grand Master of the Knights Teutonic. Having obtained this position of great power, Sibrand was desperate to remain in charge, and would do anything to prevent his power from slipping away.

As he was incapable of securing his position, Sibrand became plagued by paranoia of conspiracies and plots against him, so much so that he unnecessarily doubled the patrols, and even threatened to pull knights from battle to protect him.

He remained consistently vigilant, searching for signs of trouble. He took control of the docks in the city of Acre, where he also acquired the services of many ships. He planned to use these vessels to form a blockade that would prevent the "fool" Kings and Queens from sending aid once the Templars initiated their plan to usurp control of the Holy Land.

Sibrand joined the Templars around this time, and was one of the men that guarded the Apple of Eden's secrets and capabilities.

Death
Having locked himself away in Acre's docks, Sibrand waited to perform his role in the "liberation" of the Holy Land. He patrolled the district, scolding two guards he came across, and threatening to double their shifts if they would not get back to their posts. Unknown to him, the Assassin Altaïr eavesdropped on him, to prepare for his assassination.

Sibrand then moved to the docks itself and, remembering the white-robed Assassin that had been hunting his brothers, began to publicly abuse and torment a scholar, who was clothed similarly to the Assassins. After taunting and eventually killing the scholar, Sibrand warned the citizens not to aid the Assassins.

Sibrand then donned his horned helmet, and set off for his personal ship, unaware that Altaïr was navigating his way through the docks, and towards his ship.

In his manic refusal to be killed, the Templar began wildly firing arrows in every direction, all the while shouting loudly that he would take care of the Assassins himself if no one else would. Altaïr stealthily climbed aboard the ship as he did, and put an end to Sibrand's life.

With his last breath, Sibrand explained the role assigned to him by the Brotherhood, and claimed that he had proof that nothing waited for him after his life. Having told the Assassin all he knew, Sibrand perished.

Personality and characteristics
At the time he was appointed as the Grand Master of the Teutonics, Sibrand was a fierce man, who never failed to strike fear into the crowds. He was both a skilled swordsman and archer, making him a dangerous opponent. However, as he witnessed more of his Templar brothers dying, he became paranoid and cowardly.

His paranoia became such a burden to him that he doubled the patrols in his district and even killed men, simply for wearing clothes that were similar to the Assassins' garments. Sibrand always kept a keen eye on the crowds surrounding him, always expecting his murderer to emerge from them.

Like his fellow Templars, Sibrand did not believe in a god or an afterlife, claiming that the Piece of Eden had been proof otherwise. He feared death, believing that there was nothing to await him once he passed away.

Final words
*Sibrand: A blockade by sea, to keep the fool kings and queens from sending reinforcements once we... once we...
*Altaïr: Conquered the Holy Land!?
*Sibrand: Freed it, you fool, from the tyranny of faith!
*Altaïr: Freedom!? You worked to overthrow cities, control men's minds, murdered any who spoke against you!
*Sibrand: I followed my orders, believing in my cause, same as you.

Trivia
*Like Garnier de Naplouse and Robert de Sable, Sibrand was a historical leader of the Knights Teutonic. The Teutonic Order was governed by a "Meister Sibrand" between 1190 and 1192.
*Sibrand is the only target in Assassin's Creed that you can see during an investigation, though he disappears once the cut-scene has finished.
*An in-game glitch can be found during Sibrand's assassination. To perform it, Sibrand must not be aware of your presence. When he is randomly shooting arrows on the front of his ship, approach and throw him against the side of the boat. Sibrand will fall off his ship and into the water. You will then fail the mission, supposedly because your target escaped.
**A second glitch may occur when Sibrand is at the front of the ship shooting his arrows and shouting, where he may not be wearing his helmet which he put on after killing the scholar.
**Another in-game glitch involving Sibrand takes place in the final memory, when you face the "clones" of your assassination victims. "Sibrand" will speak with a somewhat muffled voice as if he was wearing his helmet, although he does not.
*Like Talal in Jerusalem and Jubair al Hakim in Damascus, vigilantes will attempt to stop Sibrand if he tries to escape from the docks.

Final words
*Sibrand: Please, don't do this!
*Altaïr: You are afraid...
*Sibrand: Of course I am afraid!
*Altaïr: But you'll be safe now, held in the arms of your god.
*Sibrand: Have my brothers taught you nothing!? I know what waits for me, for all of us!
*Altaïr: If not your god, then what?
*Sibrand: Nothing. Nothing waits... and that is what I fear.
*Altaïr: You don't believe?
*Sibrand: How could I, given what I know? What I've seen? Our treasure was the proof!
*Altaïr: Proof of what?
*Sibrand: That this life is all we have!
*Altaïr: Linger a while longer then, and tell me of the part you were to play.
