New Codex Map
The completed codex map viewed through eagle vision at the end of ACII is pretty interesting. A lot of the dots are the same as in AC1 but some are different and there is now 47. Also, there are 8 Assassin's seals. Personally, I think these seals represent the temples that Minerva spoke of at the end of ACII. These 8 seals appear to represent America(New York), China(Xiang), Norse civilization, Kingdom of Nri (Nri-Igbo), the Majapahit empire (Trowulan) and the Galapagos Islands(for whatever reason). The other two seals are located in parts of the ocean where no islands exist (south of Australia and West of South America(it is too far away to be Easter Island)). Also of note, one of the dots appears to be right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, which is usually where Atlantis is depicted to be.

I think that the assassin's marks on the map are peices of eden that the assassins managed to obtain/seal up at the time of writing.--CloudHiro 11:18, November 26, 2009 (UTC)
I have to agree that the game should be viewed as a parallel universe, although I find that it is leaning against Catholocism more than other religions because the templars are based within the catholic church, their leader becomes the pope, the catholic leader of Britain is a templar ally, Minerva says "beware the cross" not beware the templar or those that stand in your way but specifically the cross even though it is no longer a templar symbol like abstergo's banner, it just seems a little biased in that direction. Otherwise not a very offensive game since the concept of free will and freedom from bondage by injustice (Those Who Came Before and Humans) are central to most religions in one form or another. Also religion should not be bashed because it is used as an excuse for evil, patriotism, family, and personal welfare have been used for evil as well. Does that mean they should be given up? Also, 3 kings? What are you talking about? The Magi were mentioned specifically in christianity and nowhere else. Mary is also not a repetition why would the jewish founders of Christianity use pagan traditions? Their culture forbade the teaching of such religions to jews and the prophecy of the virgin birth was written down hundreds of years before by the prophet Isaiah. They chronicled Jesus' life as they saw it from their own experiences, whether or not the miracles are true is up to you, but why would a bunch of fishermen even try something that crazy if it was just a copy of what came before? Your argument has no basis in reason. Lastly, Fanaticism is not caused by religion. ====Theories About the Piece of Eden and the Other Artifacts====

#In the Truth video, Adam and Eve both see human workers or slaves in some sort of factory. Maybe the Piece of Eden was controlling the minds of the slaves and Adam and Eve were immune to its power. Perhaps Altair and Desmond are descendants of the two.
#The artifacts protect earth somehow.
#We are told by Dr. Vidic that they were left by Those Who Have Come Before.
#The Artifacts also seem to have other abilities like time travel (it is mentioned in the e-mails on Lucy Stillman's computer). It is possible that they were made in the future and, for some reason, sent back in time. Perhaps when the Piece of Eden was damaged in Assassin's Creed, the map was not showing where to find the other artifacts but it was picking a location for it to travel to safety.
#There was a race of beings on Earth, whilst dinosaurs lived, that created the Artifacts. And it was no meteorite that hit the earth, but some huge explosion caused by the Artifacts that ended much of the life on the Earth at the time.
#Desmond and his ancestors all have some sort of link with the Artifacts, which would explain why they can resist its power.
#(Please edit later as the proof can be found on Youtube) Adam and Eve (who had blue, glowing lines) managed to steal "The Apple" by using free-running (Supporting theory 4) from the Garden of Eden (which looked more like a facility with seemingly enslaved workers working to build possibly more pieces). All of this can be found by finding all the glyphs left by Subject 16 and unlocking the video, "The Truth".
#It has been suggested that at some point multiple Pieces of Eden became centralized and governed over by a council of Templars and dispatched to parts of the world in which they perceived there power to be in jeopardy. This can be assumed form the decoded glyphs Ezio helps Desmond uncover in Assassins Creed II. In one such message a world map is shown with a number of high level dignitaries and historical figures, all implied targets of assassins, all of which were directly involved with restorations, or attempted restorations of trappings of power. IE: Mary I of England whom is on the list, Following her father (Henry VIII) creation of the first Protestant state, as well as his standing objection against Pope Paul III, remained a catholic and on her coronation went about persecuting all whom rejected the church's power. It can be assumed she was given a piece of eden by the Pope, or other machinations of the Templars to bring England back into the fold. As she is canonically referred to as assassinated by in game content, it can be assumed that instead of confiscating the Apple, the assassins respected the lineage and bestowed it upon Elizabeth I. (This is not fully true as some on this list also represent apparent Templar assassins whom were killed in vengeance for being successful in some measure (John W. Booth).)
Labeling Piece of Eden 1
In this article, Piece of Eden 1 is listed as being the Piece of Eden possessed by Altair, as well as by Adam and Eve. What evidence points to this? I myself am trying to clarify which piece of eden was used by Altair, but I can't find any evidence indicating that this was, in fact, the one he was using. Anyone know for sure?

I'm also confused. On the PoE page, it says that the Second Apple was the one destroyed in the satellite incident. But there are other claims that the First Piece of Eden, the one possessed by Altair and Ezio, was destroyed as it refers to the destroyed Apple as the "Masyaf Piece of Eden". I think there's a bit of confusion there.
It was Piece of Eden 1 , the apple that Altair got which was destroyed in the satellite incident, Vidic states this in Asassin's Creed when Desmond asks him if they are after the Piece of Eden he sees, he tells Desmond that they already found it. As we know it turns out they are looking for the map. It is also told that The Masyaf piece of Eden was destroyed in the satellite incident on the computer, which is the first piece of eden.
A. Perhaps the Apple was created when Antarctica wasn't known about? B. Perhaps it is simply how the map looks. C. Perhaps only continents with Pieces of Eden (or Vaults?) are shown on the map.
Shouldn't this article be split between the PoE that is featured in the first game (ie. the apple) and the actual category as a whole?
Because at the top of the page it says "The Piece of Eden is one of several ancient objects left by Those Who Came Before, possessing different effects, that is able to bend people to the will of the user." The sentence alone doesn't make sense.

Actually i think the game explicitly says that every religion is wrong and the pieces of eden or whatever made everything. Ya that is bullshit, but it makes for an interesting plot and shouldnt be taken seriously. I do find it interesting that there is a disclaimer at the beginning of the game stating it was made by people of various cultures and faiths though...hmmm
The Theories Section
Is just way too cluttered, and a bunch of the theories aren't even backed by any sort of evidence/fleshed out by any explanation. Some are just ridiculous. Since most of these have been created purely by arbitrary conjecture, could they be moved into the discussion and OUT of the article?
Theories About the Piece of Eden and the Other Artifacts

1. The Apple And The staff are the only pieces of eden that are shown in both assassins creed games
2. Altair created the codex pages as *once you complete the game* and explains about the apple and its powers
3. Altair keeps the apple in his possession until he dies its all explained in the codex
4. the pieces of eden in the games are used to create devices (for example tesla)
A. Perhaps the Apple was created when Antarctica wasn't known about? B. Perhaps it is simply how the map looks. C. Perhaps only continents with Pieces of Eden (or Vaults?) are shown on the map.

Category and Item?
Shouldn't this article be split between the PoE that is featured in the first game (ie. the apple) and the actual category as a whole?
Because at the top of the page it says "The Piece of Eden is one of several ancient objects left by Those Who Came Before, possessing different effects, that is able to bend people to the will of the user." The sentence alone doesn't make sense.
I guess what I'm trying to say is; is this article about the first Apple seen in AC1 or the category of artifacts seen in AC2?
Eras
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone would mind if I set up Era icons for this Wiki? I'm an Admin for a few other Wikis, such as the Silent Hill Wiki and James Cameron's Avatar, and I set up the eraicons for each of them. They're essentially the icons you see on the top right of articles, linking to related categories and so forth. Any objections? I'll need someone to adjust the MediaWiki page for them to be visible, but we can deal with that when we come to it. --<font face="Segoe UI" size="3"><span style="color: blue">Faded-Myth</span> </font><font face="Segoe UI" size="2"><span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">Discuss</span> <span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">My Workload</span></font> 20:12, January 20, 2010 (UTC)
That would be nice. Just tell me your ideas and what you would need done. -- D. Cello 20:31, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Awesome. I can handle most of what needs to be done. It's just a little graphic work and I can do all the Era and Eraicon template coding myself. I'll just need the MediaWiki page changed so that the eras will show up. Essentially they'll be icons which lead to categories such as "Characters", "Weapons", "Locations", and so forth. So Ezio's page would have icons for "AC2", and "Characters". Should only take me a short time to get the icons done and I'll let you know when to get the MediaWiki page fixed. Cheers! <font face="Segoe UI" size="3"><span style="color: blue">Faded-Myth</span> </font><font face="Segoe UI" size="2"><span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">Discuss</span> <span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">My Workload</span></font> 20:41, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

But that wouldn't be just a duplciate of the categories section at the bottom? What about icons for actual eras, like Middle Age, Renaissance and modern times? -- D. Cello 21:27, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

Eras generally are a duplication, yes, but they're an aesthetical compliment that look good on the tope of pages. They're one of the first things people see when they load up a page, which makes it easy and convenient for people to find related articles. I do know that the Star Wars Wiki utilizes Eras for actual time periods, but most Wikis, such as the Halo Wiki, Resident Evil Wikis, just to name a few, utilize eras for categories. It's up to you, I'm fine either way. I just think category eras are useful. Here's a few examples of how they can be used:

*Example 1
*Example 2
*Example 3

Just to give you a visual idea. <font face="Segoe UI" size="3"><span style="color: blue">Faded-Myth</span> </font><font face="Segoe UI" size="2"><span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">Discuss</span> <span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">My Workload</span></font> 23:22, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

I see... very well, do as you please. Maybe we could do both, e.g. Altaïr it would have Characters, AC1, Assassins and Middle Age icons? And if it isn't asking too much, maybe you could give a shot at the Template:Featured and Template:Good to make they work together, since you're at it? =]<br />By the way, Avatar wiki seems pretty through with info, very detailed. I loved the air scenes on that movie... Toruk and aircrafts alike. -- D. Cello 23:48, January 20, 2010 (UTC)

I was going to suggest doing both. That works just fine! I'll get right on it. And yeah, Avatar was just plain awesome. Saw it at IMAX in 3D.

I'll probably do quite a lot. For example, objects that are tweaked or designed by Leonardo DiVinci will have a Leo icon. The beauty of Eras is you don't have to use them all, they're just there if you want them. <font face="Segoe UI" size="3"><span style="color: blue">Faded-Myth</span> </font><font face="Segoe UI" size="2"><span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">Discuss</span> <span style="background-color:#CCFFFF; color:#003399">My Workload</span></font> 00:02, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Saw it at IMAX 3D too, me and my girlfriend got out with a pain in the neck =P

The eras really add a cool effect to articles, a more professinal look. The Featured and Good Articles Icon is working, but their position ain't locked to the title, but positioned on the page. I think they'll work better int he same line as the eras. -- D. Cello 01:06, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Transformers 2 on IMAX made me even dizzier. =P

Groovy stuff, glad you're happy with the idea. Just so you know I'm making a start on them right now. You'll be able to see the progress on their respective Template:Era and Template:Eraicon pages. They'll start off small, and grow as I add icons. I'll need your help with the MediaWiki:Common.js code. The code for eras you can find here. However, I think this is what you need:
function showEras(className)
{
if(typeof(SKIP_ERAS) != 'undefined' && SKIP_ERAS)
return;

var titleDiv = document.getElementById(className);

if(titleDiv == null || titleDiv == undefined)
return;

var cloneNode = titleDiv.cloneNode(true);
var firstHeading = getFirstHeading();
firstHeading.insertBefore(cloneNode, firstHeading.childNodes[0]);
cloneNode.style.display = "block";
Hello, unfortunately if we put a line of 5 icons on the Main Page (Altaïr, Ezio, Weapons, Walkthrough, Achievements), it breaks the visuals for people with monitors of resolution 1024x768. This is probably the most common resolution out there, so I had to revert the edits which added the fifth icon (Ezio). Unfortunately I don't have the time to find a better solution that has all 5 rows, so all I could do was revert, I have to go do other things. Two speculations:

1. Subject 16 is related to Adam and Eve, meaning that Desmond could view it as well, since they come from the same lineage "Altair.

2. Altair witnessed the video when he peered into the piece of eden at the end of codex entries. This means that Desmond could still view it.

Just a thought (J.h.jaraub 03:42, January 21, 2010 (UTC))
The Truth is a sidequest in Assassin's Creed II that can be unlocked by uncovering glyphs throughout the world, and solving the puzzles that accompany each glyph. There are 20 in all, and successfully unlocking each one will give a bit more insight into the Origins of the Templars, the Assassins, and the Piece of Eden.

In the video, a naked Adam and Eve are seen running from something. They move through an open area which may be The Garden of Eden. The scenery is a mixture between flora, a shiny blue material that resembles glass, and a white surface which sounds like stone. The garden is decorated in a very futuristic style which is a strong contrast against the biblical setting. Moving through a circular automatic door, Adam and Eve use free-running (similar to that used by the Assassins) to climb a large, futuristic looking building. While they are climbing the building, a shadow of a huge humanoid and apparently floating being can be seen holding a Piece of Eden to control several human slaves. These workers appear to be in an environment similar to that of a metal refinery, with one slave in the foreground clearly using a hammer to shape a metal object. The brief appearance of the shadow is visually similar to Minerva, sharing the flowing clothes and glowing emblem on the headwear. Adam and Eve continue climbing until they reach the roof of the building. The camera zooms outwards, revealing many other futuristic buildings surrounding them. Further in the background, a mountain is clearly visible, while there is little other elevation in land elsewhere. The terrain is lush, and large forest boundaries are visible. Eve can then be seen to be holding a Piece of Eden. Eve then says "Adam, I have it!", Adam acknowledges Eve, and she then yells: "Look out!" as an unknown, unseen person appears behind them. The memory suddenly ends, and binary code flashes up. The numbers read: "EDEN"

These glyphs are based upon the markings left behind in Assassin's Creed, which were left behind by Subject 16, and written in his blood. Many of these glyphs can be recognized as the Cryptic Messages from the previous game, and can only be seen with Eagle Vision .

Trivia
*It is very interesting to note and speculate how Subject 16 managed to get a hold of this video. It is also very probable (considering 16's strong knowledge on the subject) that he knew a lot more than what the video depicted, considering at one Glyph he says "There, do you see what's going on...? *Sigh* not yet, but you will". Meaning that he might have known a lot about the events that appeared in the video, and beyond. However, it is possible that Abstergo used the animus to access these memories, seeing how we are all descended from Adam and Eve, and that they were the first to see the apple in recorded history... dumbass.

*Altaïr himself saw the video at one point in his life. As in one of the codex pages, he says the video is the most troubling thing his eyes have ever witnessed. It is clear that he had watched the video, possibly shown to him by the Apple of Eden, describing all the things that happen in the video. Speaking of screaming that still echoes in his mind, flame and fire, and tall metal towers that are overlooked by a mountain. Oddly enough, he does not actually mention or reference to Adam and Eve in any way while speaking of it. This may be due to the fact, as explained in other Codex Pages, that Ältair is stubbornly refusing to believe in the Old Testament and it's explanations, including the creational theory, so he denies these two people being the Adam and Eve of the Bible. This may also explain how Subject 16 knows about the video, if 16 is another descendant of Altaïr, then it's possible Abstergo ripped the content of this video through the Animus, as the same glitches show up through the video when Desmond was in the Animus. Subject 16 likely saw the same as Altaïr, and succeeded to obtain the data Abstergo ripped from his memory and hid it for others to find, nevertheless, 16's knowledge on the matter seems to be larger on scale then what the video showed. It should, however be noted that this point is wild speculation on the point of the original author and has very little meaning, as the vision that Altaïr had could have been anything.

*It looks like the mountain in the background is Mount Kilimanjaro, as the mountain is visually identical to the mountain. The image appears to be taken from the one in Wikimedia, except that it's horizontally flipped. This also makes sense because Mount Kilimanjaro is in Africa, and the origins of humans are said to be in Africa, more specifically mid-Africa, which is also roughly the location of Kilimanjaro. Also, one of the dots on the codex map in AC2 is in Africa, at roughly the area of Mount Kilimanjaro. Further adding to this theory is that Lucy herself said that Vidic tagged events in the Middle East and Ancient Africa.

*It's possible that Subject 16 is a descendant of Adam and Eve and that Altair ( along with Ezio and Desmond since they are both descendants of Altair) could be related to Adam and Eve.

*It is possible that the video is taken from a time period predating the war that Minerva referred to, when humans were enslaved by 'Those Who Came Before'. It is likely then that Adam and Eve escaping Eden (the haven in which 'gods' and humans lived) sparked the human rebellion which led to the cataclysmic event also mentioned by Minerva

*At the end of the video, a block of binary code can be seen briefly. The code is "01000101 01000100 01000101 01001110" which translates as EDEN.
*The viewing angle of the camera might be Subject 16. These events are supposed to have happened in the past, so it is possible that if Subject 16 is really desecended from Adam and Eve, he could use the Animus to go back in time and live these events. It also says that this is Session 12 in the Animus at the start of the video.
I don't think they would just make Cain's mark the Templars' logo. I think Cain's personal beliefs had something to do with it as well. Which, I think, makes him the very first follower of the Templars' beliefs. By the way, Those Who Came Before created the Pieces of Eden. Cain was not a templar, and it makes no sense to refrence him as such. You're taking what was meant to be metaphorical and turning it into a literal sense.

Surely the Glyph sequence figuring Cain, stating the "Mark of Cain" is the Templar symbol is pretty conclusive proof that he was the first Templar... Also, Oppenheimer was probably a Templar, as he was mentioned as "O." in a glyph sequence - non-templars, like Telsa, seem to be always referred too with a name rather than just a letter. As for Able, Adam, and Eden, I don't think they were assassins themselves (though A and E seem to be either 'demigods' or at the very least, leaders of the human rebellion against though who came before), I do think there 'line' was the origin of the Assassins, with some of there descenants retaining the immunity to the pieces of eden (like Altair and the assassins who help him out in the final sequence of Assassins Creed 1, and of course Ezio). Of course, "Assassins: Sons of two worlds" might imply A and E aren't the origin of all assassins, and other "demigods" (i.e. human/those who came before hybrids). Where is London B. Johnson mentioned in the Glyph sequences? I watched them all just now and I haven't seen him pop up anywhere. -- Master Sima Yi 10:24, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
