The Truth is a sidequest in Assassin's Creed II that can be unlocked by uncovering glyphs throughout the world, and solving the puzzles that accompany each glyph. There are 20 in all, and successfully unlocking each one will give a bit more insight into the Origins of the Templars, the Assassins, and the Piece of Eden.

In the video, a naked Adam and Eve are seen running from something. They move through an open area which may be The Garden of Eden. The scenery is a mixture between flora, a shiny blue material that resembles glass, and a white surface which sounds like stone. The garden is decorated in a very futuristic style which is a strong contrast against the biblical setting. Moving through a circular automatic door, Adam and Eve use free-running (similar to that used by the Assassins) to climb a large, futuristic looking building. While they are climbing the building, a shadow of a huge humanoid and apparently floating being can be seen holding a Piece of Eden to control several human slaves. These workers appear to be in an environment similar to that of a metal refinery, with one slave in the foreground clearly using a hammer to shape a metal object. The brief appearance of the shadow is visually similar to Minerva, sharing the flowing clothes and glowing emblem on the headwear. Adam and Eve continue climbing until they reach the roof of the building. The camera zooms outwards, revealing many other futuristic buildings surrounding them. Further in the background, a mountain is clearly visible, while there is little other elevation in land elsewhere. The terrain is lush, and large forest boundaries are visible. Eve can then be seen to be holding a Piece of Eden. Eve then says "Adam, I have it!", Adam acknowledges Eve, and she then yells: "Look out!" as an unknown, unseen person appears behind them. The memory suddenly ends, and binary code flashes up. The numbers read: "EDEN"

These glyphs are based upon the markings left behind in Assassin's Creed, which were left behind by Subject 16, and written in his blood. Many of these glyphs can be recognized as the Cryptic Messages from the previous game, and can only be seen with Eagle Vision .

Trivia
*Altaïr himself saw the video at one point in his life. As in one of the codex pages, he says the video is the most troubling thing his eyes have ever witnessed. It is clear that he had watched the video, possibly shown to him by the Apple of Eden, describing all the things that happen in the video. Speaking of screaming that still echoes in his mind, flame and fire, and tall metal towers that are overlooked by a mountain. Oddly enough, he does not actually mention or refer to Adam and Eve in any way while speaking of it. This may be due to the fact, as explained in other Codex Pages, that Ältair is stubbornly refusing to believe in the Old Testament and it's explanations, including the creational theory, so he denies these two people being the Adam and Eve of the Bible. This may also explain how Subject 16 knows about the video, if 16 is another descendant of Altaïr, then it's possible Abstergo ripped the content of this video through the Animus, as the same glitches show up through the video when Desmond was in the Animus. Subject 16 likely saw the same as Altaïr, and succeeded to obtain the data Abstergo ripped from his memory and hid it for others to find, nevertheless, 16's knowledge on the matter seems to be larger on scale then what the video showed.

*It looks like the mountain in the background is Mount Kilimanjaro, as the mountain is visually identical to the mountain. The image appears to be taken from the one in Wikimedia, except that it's horizontally flipped. This also makes sense because Mount Kilimanjaro is in Africa, and the origins of humans are said to be in Africa, more specifically mid-Africa, which is also roughly the location of Kilimanjaro. Also, one of the dots on the codex map in AC2 is in Africa, at roughly the area of Mount Kilimanjaro. Further adding to this theory is that Lucy herself said that Vidic tagged events in the Middle East and Ancient Africa.

*It's possible that Subject 16 is a descendant of Adam and Eve and that Altair ( along with Ezio and Desmond since they are both descendants of Altair) could be related to Adam and Eve.

*It is possible that the video is taken from a time period predating the war that Minerva referred to, when humans were enslaved by 'Those Who Came Before'. It is likely then that Adam and Eve escaping Eden (the haven in which 'gods' and humans lived) sparked the human rebellion which led to the cataclysmic event also mentioned by Minerva

*At the end of the video, a block of binary code can be seen briefly. The code is "01000101 01000100 01000101 01001110" which translates as EDEN.
*The viewing angle of the camera might be Subject 16. These events are supposed to have happened in the past, so it is possible that if Subject 16 is really desecended from Adam and Eve, he could use the Animus to go back in time and live these events. It also says that this is Session 12 in the Animus at the start of the video.
*Adam is voiced by Nolan North, the same voice actor who voices Desmond. Likely he was voiced by the same person to show the link between Desmond and Adam, as he seems to be his descendent.

In his adventure, Ezio will discover the Auditore Family Villa, in the city of Monteriggioni. Perched atop a beautiful Tuscan valley, Monteriggioni has become run down and is badly in need of repair. Constructed in 1290, the Villa Auditore is an important medieval predecessor to early Renaissance architecture. The Villa’s wonderful symmetry and ordered geometry were a revelation for its time.

Not only concerned with aesthetics, Domenico Auditore, Ezio Auditore’s great-great-grandfather, designed his home to double as a fortress and training ground, looking out both over the city that it protects and the Tuscan plains.

After a Florentine attack in 1320 left the facade damaged, the present facade was erected and a painting gallery was added to the interior.

Domenico was more than just an architect and a warrior: he was also a skilled engineer. Hidden compartments and rooms with mechanisms blocking entry are several unique features of the building that make it a technological marvel as well as an architectural one.

Ezio is able to renovate both the town of Monteriggioni and the Auditore Villa. By investing in shops, Ezio can gain discounts to their wares, whilst improving the local economy. Players can also renovate the other areas of Monteriggoni such as the well or the barracks to increase the city's value. You may also choose to redecorate the Auditore Villa with famous renaissance paintings, weapons and armor bought throughout the game, and store a variety of collected objects. These items increase the worth of the Villa, and so the revenue generated each 20 minutes (real-time) grows. When the villa has been improved to 100% completion (the only way to reach 100% completion is by buying everything from all the shops; excluding the tailor; all the armor, weapons, paintings, by collecting all 100 feathers, all six assassins seals, all the paintings of the conspirators, etc. When you look into the Villa's book Claudia has, just look at the boxes at the bottom of each page; once all of them are checked, you will reach 100%), it will yield an income of 15,000 florins every 20 minutes, with a chest capacity of 60,000 florins or 60,400 florins with the Battle of Forli DLC. As the player invests in Monteriggioni, the Villa's outside appearance improves over time. Boards across windows are taken down, overgrown plants recede, and flags bearing the assassin symbol appear around the roof. While the city's appearance will improve, Monteriggioni's citizens always seem to be poorer (in clothing) than their counterparts from the cities. Also, with each guild renovated, there will be Courtesans, Mercenaries, and Thieves wandering around.

Claudia and Maria Auditore remain at the villa for the rest of the game. Claudia keeps records of Monteriggioni's income and the statistics of Ezio's completion of collections, while Maria prays in the room that contains the chest where Ezio places the eagle feathers he collects from the game world.

Mario has an office that contains a wall-space where deciphered Codex Pages can be placed and pieced together. There is also a Sanctuary built by Domenico that houses 7 statues of great assassins in history as well as Altaïr's Armor.

There are no actual guards here, or any type of conventional threat. Although the Training Ground Mercenaries seem to be treated like oversize guards. People shout critisism at them during Ezio's training; and after matches, they push you in a very guardlike manner.

You do not need to learn special moves to unlock them.

Monteriggioni's populace starts out at 33, and maxes out at 3523. Also, you will never see anyone in the countryside.

Auditore Family Crypt
Beneath the Family's mansion is the Auditore Family Crypt, a place similar to the six Assassin Tombs Ezio finds throughout the world. While there is no major reward, he discovers information about Ezio's great-great-grandfather, his history as an Auditore and an Assassin, and the buildings of Monteriggioni.

There are 2,000 florins to be had at the end of the level - 500 florins more than any other Assassin Tomb - but the real reward and meaning of the place is the information about the origins of the Auditore family.

The Crypt can only be unlocked through Uplay and costs 40 points.
