The annual Spanish Treasure Fleets were convoys of Spanish warships that departed the country's New World ports – such as Havana, Cuba, in the Caribbean – after receiving mule loads of trade goods such as gold, silver and jewels from South American colonies like Peru, and were destined for the ports of Cádiz and Seville, Spain. Some of the most notable were the Treasure Fleets of 1622, 1715, 1733 and 1750, which were all decimated by hurricanes, spilling a fortune of gold reales into the ocean.

History
Seven days after their departure from Havana, the 1715 Treasure Fleet was hit a hurricane, which destroyed eleven of its twelve vessels. The surviving ship was a brig known as El Dorado, which had been stolen by the pirates Edward Kenway and Adéwalé during their escape from imprisonment aboard one of the fleet's sister ships. Following the escape, Kenway took the El Dorado as his own and rechristened it the Jackdaw.

Word of the fleet's capsize quickly spread throughout the region, with wild variances on the details; Edward Thatch at one point expressed an interest in diving the wrecks. Edward Kenway, on the other hand, dove to the wreck of the San Ignacio to locate medicines for the citizens of Nassau, although the cures he recovered were "quite spoilt".

In November 1716, another Spanish Treasure Fleet was attacked by the pirates Alonzo Batilla, Olivier Levasseur and Samuel Bellamy; upon noticing the pirates, the fleet made to depart, though Alonzo Batilla pursued and engaged them. Despite this, Alonzo could not find Samuel Bellamy's "treasure", which proved to be a Fragment of Eden. Of the fleet's six ships, one frigate survived the conflict, though the pirates were forced to leave it after being confronted by Francis Hume.
The British Army was a branch of the British Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Great Britain, alongside the Royal Navy and, later, the Royal Air Force. It was formed in 1707 with the Acts of Union 1707 and focused on land-based warfare. Following Great Britain's triumph over the Kingdom of France in the French and Indian War, which ended in 1763, the soldiers of the British Army occupied Colonial America during the events of the American Revolutionary War.

The superior discipline, skill-at-arms, equipment, organization, brutality and reputation of the British Army were major sources of intimidation to the initially amateur soldiers of the Continental Army during the American Revolution. During the conflict, the British Army received military support from their Hessian (soldiers) allies, mainly in the form of Jägers.

The soldiers of the British Army, known as the Regulars, were often referred to as "Redcoats" or "Lobster-backs" by the general population during the American Revolution, due to their distinctive red uniforms. While the facings of the uniform were known to vary by regiment, the red dye was maintained by most British troops, excluding the Horse Guards, bombardiers and riflemen.

Arms and tactics
The British Infantry Regulars of the 18th century were armed with the standard British Army smoothbore flintlock musket, often known as the Brown Bess, and a fifteen inch socket bayonet that could be locked onto the end of the musket barrel, which was often employed when receiving cavalry or, obviously, during a bayonet charge. The battle cry "Huzzah" often accompanied a bayonet charge, for intimidation. Dragoons and other cavalry were armed with carbines and swords.

British soldiers were drilled extensively in the use of these primary weapons, until they could load and fire their muskets with their eyes closed. A well-trained infantryman could average around three shots per minute from his musket, whereas a sub-par soldier could accomplish perhaps two. British officers usually armed themselves with flintlock pistols and sabers, although it was not unknown for light infantry officers to carry their own musket or rifle as the war progressed.

When on patrol, British soldiers usually marched in a column of 6-9 men. These groups consisted of one commissioned Officer, a Drummer, four Regulars, and four Grenadiers. These numbers changed over the course of the Revolutionary War.

The British greatly emphasized mass line infantry fire and prized discipline. In this regard, punishment was strict for deserters and disobedience. Mass line infantry differed from, for example, the French firing patterns. The firing line allowed for the maximum number of muskets to be brought to bare on a target, and therefore the highest volume of fire.

The guerrilla warfare of the rebels was frowned upon by the British commanders, who considered it dishonorable, though the British Army did deploy similarly-trained soldiers. Many of the rebels were in fact trained by the British as light infantry, or "light bobs", and such units continued to be employed by the British, though they were scarcely used in place of line fire. It was found, however, that such guerrilla warfare, over time, was highly effective against the line and file tactics of the day, though the Regulars were hard to match in pitched battles or over open ground.

Historically however, despite this advantage, the rebels had difficuties facing British cavalry even with the latter's use being limited in the war. The British 16th and 17th Light Dragoons in particular became a terror to the Patriot forces as many veterans of the French and Indian War in the colonies were not experienced in facing cavalry charges.

In the Battle of White Plains, British cavalrymen had broken the ranks of colonial forces. Fortunately for the rebels, it was costly to bring large number of cavalry units to the American continent and the terrain made it difficult to deploy horses. The lack of major cavalry support on the British side, allowed George Washington to retreat in many disastrous battles, such as the Battle of Long Island.

As many battles were focused around ranks of line infantry unleashing volleys of synchronized musket fire, and often in pursuit of an objective; many thousands of lives would be laid down for a small gain. The discipline of the British would allow soldiers to march past and over their fallen comrades and continue to fight for their objective, with a ferocity bred from poverty, as were the conditions in which many of the infantry were raised. Once the enemy lines faltered, British Dragoons and other cavalry units would draw swords and charge to cut down the remaining enemy soldiers.

Trivia
*Despite the British Army having withdrawn from Colonial America in 1783, remnants of British Regulars could still be found around the Frontier, Boston, and New York.
*The Grenadiers resembled a Pioneer (military), which was a military unit whose tasks are specifically for construction and engineering, rather than actual grenadiers, who were used as elite troops to storm enemy battlements and fortifications.
*British officer uniforms were based on the era's Dragoon guards. Historically, however, Dragoons served as mounted heavy cavalry, rather than footsoldiers.
*In the The Tyranny of King Washington, the British military joined in the rebellion against King Washington, evidenced by many red-coated corpses strewn around the Frontier and other cities.
*Severe historical inaccuracy is present when British soldiers are encountered on board warships in the Caribbean, as well as on West Indian islands. This due to the fact that not all ships in the Royal Navy contained British soldiers, let alone as the entire crew of a ship, and also due to the fact that British soldiers did not carry cutlasses. Cutlasses were carried by sailors and marines, while almost all regular soldiers sported muskets with bayonets, though some Captains carried infantry swords, a different kind of sword all together.
Apple of Eden #2 was a Piece of Eden, an item of ancient and technologically advanced equipment created by the First Civilization to control humankind.

One of its most notable owners was the Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, who possessed it for the majority of his life and used its capabilities to reform the Assassin Order.

Usage
Like many Apples of Eden, it was designed to create illusions and control people's minds. The Apple could presumably be used to look into possible future outcomes, using the Probability theory, as well as impart knowledge of formulas and practices surpassing those of its time, as evidenced in Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad's Codex.

History
Middle Ages
The Piece of Eden is temptation given form.
By the Third Crusade, ten Templars had found the Apple, which remained hidden in the catacombs of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem. Some time in 1191, the Templar Grand Master Robert de Sable sought to retrieve the Apple, and use it to seize control of the land for the Templars.

Discovering this, Rashid ad-Din Sinan sent three of his Assassins – Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and the brothers Malik and Kadar Al-Sayf – to intercept him, and take the artifact to the Assassins' fortress in Masyaf.

Despite suffering a grievous injury to his left arm and losing his brother Kadar, Malik Al-Sayf was able to retrieve the Apple and bring it to Al Mualim, while Altaïr was routed by the Templars. Throughout the year, Al Mualim kept the Apple close at all times, while sending Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad to kill Robert and the other eight Templars who knew of the Apple.

During Altaïr's absence on a mission to kill Robert de Sable, Al Mualim hypnotized the Assassins and villagers of Masyaf, revealing himself to be a covert Templar, corrupted by the Apple's power.

When Al Mualim was confronted by Altaïr after his return, he utilized several of the Apple's abilities to defend himself, such as creating several illusions of the Templars Altaïr had slain, along with phantom copies of his own form.

However, Altaïr was able to kill Al Mualim and take the Apple after it rolled away from his body. Joined by Malik Al-Sayf and three other Assassins, they witnessed a map showing the locations of more Pieces of Eden being emitted from the Apple.

Altaïr, fearing that Al Mualim would still use the Apple's powers even after his death, intended to burn Al Mualim's body on a pyre to be certain that he would not return – against the Assassins' beliefs to not cremate a person on their demise.

However, Altaïr's intentions were received both positively and negatively, with Altaïr's former friend and rival Abbas Sofian being the main person to stand against the Assassin.

The Order was temporarily split into two factions, with a fight erupting between the two, after Abbas was angered by Altaïr on the burning of their former Mentor's body, shoving him off of the cliff they were standing on.

Abbas quickly fled the scene and returned to Al Mualim's study, where he retrieved the Apple, and climbed a watchtower outside the Masyaf fortress.

However, Abbas was unable to use the Apple's powers properly, and the Apple began to drain the life from various Assassins in Masyaf, including Abbas himself. Altaïr, who was more resistant to the effects of a Piece of Eden than other Assassins, was able to obtain the artifact from Abbas before it killed him. To this, Abbas apologized for his mistake, and the Order united under Altaïr.

Despite this accident, Altaïr carefully studied the Apple throughout most of his life, using it to advance the Assassin Order, creating several new techniques and weapons for the Assassins to use. Altaïr also carried it with him during the journey to Cyprus to eliminate the Templars there. Continuing to study it in secret, he wrote his discoveries in his Codex, and used it once in public to calm a mob that was falsely rallied against him.

In 1217, Altaïr, his wife Maria and son Darim traveled to Mongolia to assassinate Genghis Khan and eliminate the Mongol threat. They returned to Masyaf ten years later, successful in their objective with the help of the Mongolian Assassin, Qulan Gal.

However, in their absence, Abbas had killed Altaïr's second son Sef and imprisoned Malik, later having him killed as well. With the acting leader, Malik, in prison, Abbas had created a council to lead the Assassin Order, with himself at its head.

Altaïr and Maria faced Abbas to take the Order back, with Abbas demanding that Altaïr hand over the Apple. Taunting Abbas, Altaïr let him take it, and Abbas' henchman Swami came to retrieve it.

Swami, revealing himself to be Sef's killer, and that he had told Sef that his father was the one to order his death before killing him, felt Altaïr's anger reaching his body via the Apple upon touching it.

A golden glow shining from his mouth, Swami started mutilating himself, killing Maria in the frenzy. Altaïr then escaped Masyaf, urged by Maria's final words, and eventually met with Darim along the way, before he began a 20 year self-imposed exile in Alamut.

During those twenty years, Altaïr studied the Apple intensely, even managing to create a Hidden Gun through the knowledge he learned. Additionally, the Apple led Altaïr to six Memory Seals, and once the twenty years of exile came to an end, Altaïr returned to Masyaf and took the Order back from Abbas with virtue – gaining the support from the Assassins – and tested the newly created weapon on Abbas, killing him.

Upon regaining control of the Order once again, Altaïr ordered the construction of a library, intending to hide all of his books there. A few years later, Darim met the Venetian tradesmen Niccolò and Maffeo Polo, and, inviting them to stay at Masyaf in 1257, the two men were trained by Altaïr, then 92 years old, to become Assassins.

After a month of training, Masyaf was attacked by the Mongols under command of Hulagu Khan, seeking retaliation for Genghis Khan's death. Altaïr passed on several of his books and his Codex to the Polo brothers, and before they left Masyaf, he gave Niccolò five of the six Memory Seals, which Altaïr had turned into keys needed to open his library.

Altaïr and Darim returned to Masyaf's fortress after repelling a Mongol attack, and bid each other farewell before the entrance to Altaïr's library.

Darim was ordered to take Altaïr's remaining books with him to Alexandria, after which Darim realized that the library was not meant for its supposed purpose, instead being used as a vault.

Revealing that nobody must know what secret it contained, Altaïr entered the library and closed the gate behind him, making his way to its end. There, he placed the Apple on a pedestal and sealed it behind a shutter, before imprinting the sixth Memory Seal with the memory of himself locking the Apple away and peacefully passing away in his chair, where both the Assassin's remains and the artifact would stay hidden for nearly three centuries.

Renaissance
In 1509, the Mentor of the Italian Assassins, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, found a letter written by his father Giovanni mentioning the library underneath Masyaf and the vast amount of knowledge it supposedly held.

Intrigued by his discovery, Ezio set out on a journey to the Holy Land to reach a better understanding of the Order through Altaïr's knowledge.

Ezio arrived in Masyaf in the winter of 1511, and retrieved Niccolò Polo's journal "The Secret Crusade" from Leandros, the leader of a small army of Byzantine Templars tasked with opening Altaïr's library.

The Assassin proceeded to make his way to Constantinople to retrieve the five keys and unlock the entrance to the library. After several months of searching, aided by the local Assassins Guild and a Venetian-Ottoman bookseller named Sofia Sartor, Ezio was able to obtain the keys, and together with her, he made his way to Masyaf once again.

Entering the library, Ezio found Altaïr's remains, as well as the sixth Memory Seal. Ezio relived Altaïr's final moments and discovered the Apple, but decided not to take the artifact from its pedestal, leaving it in the library instead.

At that moment, the Apple imparted a message from the Synch Nexus, intended for Ezio's descendant, Desmond Miles, who was viewing his genetic memories in the Animus. In the message, Jupiter recounted the First Civilization's final days, and provided Desmond the means to access the Grand Temple.
Elizabethan era
{{Quote|You may think this picture a riddle, an allegory, an artist's fancy. It is not. The object in the hand of the Faerie Queen is real. So is its power.
Possibly after being discovered beneath Masyaf by English diplomats or merchants, the Apple wound up in the hands of Queen Elizabeth I of England, an important monarch in 16th century England, who succeeded her sister Mary I after she was assassinated by the Assassin Order.

With the Apple's power, Elizabeth saved England from invasion by using it to utterly crush the Spanish Armada, leading to the creation of the Royal Navy. Her most trusted adviser John Dee was aware of Elizabeth possessing the artifact, even using one himself during his time living in Prague.

John Dee later gave a painting of Queen Elizabeth holding the Apple during an alternative rendition of the Judgment of Paris, as a wedding present to the stepdaughter of his former colleague Edward Kelley, Elizabeth Jane Weston, after Queen Elizabeth's death.
Modern times
By modern times, the Apple had passed into the hands of Mahatma Gandhi, after arriving in India from England on board a British trading ship. He used it to acquire a large religious following during the early 20th century. However, the Templars discovered this, and had Gandhi murdered on 30 January 1948, in order to recover it for themselves.

By 1963, the Templars had both Apple #1 and Apple #2, using the pair in the Kennedy assassination. William Greer, the Secret Service agent assigned to drive Kennedy's limousine, was trained in the use of Apple #2, and was instructed to steal Apple #3 from Kennedy after he was killed.

Later on, Abstergo Industries experimented with Apple #2 underneath Denver International Airport, though they eventually caused the DIA satellite accident, ultimately losing the Apple.

Trivia
*Unlike Ezio's Apple of Eden, Altaïr's health did not drain while he used the Apple.
