Tesla planned to create a worldwide network able to transmit information and electricity to anywhere on the planet. Born in Smiljan, in the borders of modern [[wikipedia:Croatia|Croatia]], Tesla was one of the most important contributors to the birth of commercial electricity. He was also renowned for his many revolutionary developments in the field of electromagnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Tesla's patents and theoretical work formed the basis of modern [[Wikipedia:Alternating current|alternating current]] electric power systems, including the polyphase system of electrical distribution, and the AC motor, with which he helped usher in the Second Industrial Revolution.<ref name="Wikipedia">[[wikipedia:Nikola Tesla|''Wikipedia'': Nikola Tesla]]</ref>

===Acquiring a Piece of Eden===
Tesla found [[Fourth Apple|an Apple of Eden]] in [[wikipedia:Croatia|Croatia]]. The [[Templars]], most prominently [[Thomas Edison]], opposed his ideas, as they would be a serious impediment to the Templar goals and Edison's own ideals. To this end, Edison demonstrated a series of experiments, such as the electrocution of a circus elephant, that he released as proof of Tesla's power being dangerous, causing public disapproval towards Tesla's invention. In 1908, the [[Assassins]] contacted Tesla and enlisted his help in destroying the Templar facility in [[Tunguska]] that housed a copied Tesla coil, and was also the location where the Imperial Sceptre of [[Russia]] - one of the [[Staves of Eden]] - was located, using his powerful particle beam weapon.<ref name="AC2"/> While a team of [[Russian Assassins]] led by [[Nikolai Orelov]] infiltrated the facility to retrieve the Staff of Eden from the facility, Tesla fired his machine from America marked by the words "Rot in hell, Thomas." However, the Assassins did not take the Staff out of the facility in time, and both the artifact and the Assassins were caught in the explosion. As a result, a massive super-explosion that became known as the [[Tunguska explosion]] erupted, and the facility and the Staff of Eden were destroyed.
