'''Maria Auditore da Firenze''' (''née'' de' Mozzi) was the wife of [[Giovanni Auditore da Firenze|Giovanni Auditore]], a prominent [[Florence|Florentine]] banker and member of the [[Assassins|Order of Assassins]]. She is the mother of three sons – [[Federico Auditore da Firenze|Federico]], [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze|Ezio]] and [[Petruccio Auditore da Firenze|Petruccio]] – and a daughter named [[Claudia Auditore da Firenze|Claudia]]. Born into the noble de' Mozzi family, Maria liked to mix with "real citizens" when she was younger, leading her to a chance of meeting with the man who would become her husband. As part of the Auditore family she continued to fraternise with the lower classes, developing a working relationship with the artist [[Leonardo da Vinci]].

Aware of her husband's allegiances to the Assassins, Maria kept it a secret from her children up to his death, and upon her grieving silence did not mention it either. She is also an ancestor of [[Desmond Miles]].

In 1476 Maria Auditore da Firenze lived happily with her husband, three sons and daughter in the heart of the city. Close to the de' Medici family, Maria was by this time aware of her husband's duties as an assassin, and would tend his wounds should he recieve them.

With their second son, Ezio, then seventeen Maria felt it time for Giovanni to tell him of his heritage.

The day following Ezio's fight with [[Vieri de' Pazzi]] on the Florentine bridge, Maria had him walk with her to collect a number of comissioned paintings from the artist [[Leonardo da Vinci]], introducing the two in the process. She then remained at home until the arrival of the city guards in the evening, who took away her husband and sons whilst assaulting Claudia and herself. When Ezio finally return home he discovered that his mother's assault had shocked her into silence, but nonetheless directed the house maid to take Maria and Claudia to a safe location, where they waited for news.

The next day Ezio returned, wearing the robes of his father and bringing the fateful news of the execution she then followed Ezio and Claudia to the [[Villa Auditore]] in the town of [[Monteriggioni]]. Arriving in the town, Maria took up residence in the Villa, refusing to speak and constantly praying over the feathers her youngest son, [[Petruccio Auditore da Firenze|Petruccio]], used to collect. Eventually, Ezio had collected one-hundred white feathers for his mother to watch over, Maria hugged him and spoke once more, thanking her son for not forgetting about her.

As a reward for his collection of the feathers, Maria bestowed Ezio a cloak embossed with the Auditore family crest.

In the official novel 'Assassin's Creed: Renaissance', Maria does not spend all her time in prayer over Petruccio's feathers, but spends time within Monteriggioni's convent. It is stated that it helps her to do simple tasks, though a full recovery is never shown, and it is unsaid as to whether she goes to the Auditore villa with Claudia. She is mentioned very little after settling into her new life at Monteriggioni.

Claudia Auditore is a young [[Florence|Florentine]] girl from a noble family living during the 15th Century in Italy: the Renaissance. She is the daughter of Giovanni Auditore, an [[Assassin]], a "profession" of her father that she doesn't know.

In the beginning of the game when Ezio knows nothing of the assassin world, a mission you can accept from her is to beat up her cheating boyfriend. You can find him flirting with another girl.

After the tragic events that befell the Auditore family, Ezio vows to protect her, along with their mother, and escorts them both to the safety of the Villa Auditore. There, her uncle [[Mario Auditore da Firenze|Mario]] puts her to work keeping a book of finances for the Villa; a task she finds positively scandalous, since it involves "work".

In the official novel 'Assassin's Creed: Renaissance', Claudia went with Maria to a convent in Monteriggioni for a short time, and took her vows as a ''noviziata'', or novice sister. However, she soon relocated to the Auditore villa and was later married to one of Mario's 'best men.' It is also stated in the book that she will soon 'give Ezio a niece or nephew of his own,' bringing more than one heir to the Auditore bloodline.

==Trivia==
*Claudia is 15 years of age at the beginning of ''Assassin's Creed II''.
*Claudia is one of the few noticeable people who appear not to age over the course of the game. She remains at the same desk in the Villa Auditore for 23 years. Her only interaction with Ezio is asking if he is "...[there] to look at the book" of finances.
*Claudia has a violent streak and has trouble with men and other girls her age. She beat up a girl at her school for "looking at her boyfriend" and Giovanni had to raise her dowry by 1000 florins because she scared off all of her suitors.
*After Claudia found out her father and brothers were killed, it seemed like she had a huge v-shaped vein on across her forehead.
