Altaïr was more of a &quot;just get the job done&quot; sort of person and didn't show much heart in what he was doing. Ezio always had a cause, and if he knew it was the right one, he'd stop at nothing. I mean, yeah Altaïr was of course the first and was always considered to best assassin, but you've also got to take into account the different time periods that the two lived in. For example, Jerusalem during the time of Altaïr, wouldn't have possessed as many and as advanced weaponry that Ezio would have had access to. Don't forget that even though Altaïr pretty much invented most of what Ezio knows about the Assassins and killing, Ezio spent decades mastering Altaïr's techniques. Altaïr didn't spend nearly as much time as Ezio did practicing those techniques, so naturally, the assumption would be that Ezio has more experience, right? And just because these techniques were created by Altaïr does not make him the greatest at perfecting them. That's like saying that whoever created basketball will always be the best in the world at basketball. Also Ezio was the Mentor Assassin of Italy, which is pretty fucking big title. Ezio also did a lot more for the Assassin Brotherhood than Altaïr did.</div>
