Juno is a member of the First Civilization. She is portrayed as a holographic form, appearing four times to Desmond Miles throughout the end of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood after completing the path through the Colosseum. First after passing through the first hidden entrance, second while Desmond is approaching the second hidden entrance, third after entering and flipping the switch inside the Santa Maria Aracoeli, and lastly inside the Vault beneath the Santa Maria Aracoeli. Juno further expands Minerva's warning at the end of Assassin's Creed II, though her dialogue is also noticibly more hostile in tone towards humanity than Minerva's. Once Desmond, Lucy, Shaun and Rebecca reach the Apple's location in the Vault, Juno forcefully takes control of Desmond, forcing him to unwillingly strike Lucy with his Hidden Blade.

Dialogue
After passing through the first hidden entrance

Juno: We commit this space to the epilogue of our ending. Let it be found by he who is deemed worthy. Let it guide him. Let it shape his path forward. Let it save the world we leave behind.

Desmond: Who are you?

After approaching the second hidden entrance

Juno: In the beginning we set our truths to parchment. To stone. To the memory of men. These proved impermanent things. Cleansed by fire. Cleansed by famine. Cleansed by flood. All the world is innocent once more. Innocent and ignorant.

After flipping the switch inside the Santa Maria Aracoeli

Juno: We did not build them to be wise. And now they are our final, faulted hope. You are they. You process the potential for understanding. But you broke our tools. Or turned them against one another. We have destroyed what we could. Sealed away what we could not. Most. Not all. And it does not take many to unwind the world. Here is a safe place. Eternal. To store objects. Words. Wisdom. But not life. Almost did we have the means. But time...time erodes us. We can distract him. We can see past him. Faint left when he strikes right. But his reach is so very long. His stamina unending. We cannot evade his grasp. Not forever.

After entering the vault beneath the Santa Maria Aracoeli

A hundred years I might speak and still you would not know us. You with five senses. Us with six. The one we kept from you. To be safe. Now, you can never know. Only try. Grasp. You can SEE. SMELL. TASTE. TOUCH. HEAR. Knowledge has been blocked away. After, when the world became undone, we tried to pass it through the blood. Tried to join you with us. You see the blue shimmer. You hear the words. But you do not know. WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT YOU AS YOU WERE. It is hard to stay contained. Knowing as we do. We wait for you Desmond. You will come here. You will activate us. You xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (MISSING)

After activating the Apple

Desmond: Whats happening? I cant move!

Juno: Your DNA communes with the Apple. You have activated it.

Desmond: Let me go!

Juno: On the 72nd day before the moment of awakening. You, birthed from our loins and the loins of our enemies. The end and the beginning, who we abhor and honor. The final journey commences. There is one who would accompany you through the gate. She lies not within our sight. The cross darkens the horizon.

Desmond: What are you doing?

Juno: The Path must be opened. You cannot escape your part in this. The scales shall be balanced.

Desmond: Stop. Please.

Juno: You know very little. We must guide you. Cease your struggle.

Desmond: No!

Juno: It is done. The way lies all before you. Only she remains to be found. Awaken the sixth. Go. ALONE!
Ezio will enter a mode similar to his Eagle Vision and be able to see the figures of his parents and all of his siblings around the palazzo. The Golden Mask is used to grant access to Marco Barbarigo's exclusive party during Carnevale. It is a storyline item that must be acquired in order to progress to the target assassination.

How to Obtain
Once Ezio completes the four Carnivale challenges in one of which he defeats the Templar Soldiers and Dante Moro in a rigged fight, he was supposed to receive the Golden Mask as the reward, but Silvio Barbarigo bribed the Carnival announcer to give the mask to Dante instead.

Ezio, Antonio and Sister Teodora plan on how to take the mask back. Ezio suggests killing Dante, but Antonio says to steal the mask from him using Sister Teodora's girls to distract him as killing Dante will surely cancel the party altogether. Sister Teodora also warns that before he even thinks of forging a replica, each mask is numbered to prevent unauthorized acess with copies.

Once you steal the mask, it goes into effect once you enter Marco Barbarigo's party, he must become hidden from the Templar guards under Dante while they look for Ezio and the mask.

Trivia
*The Golden Mask is only used during this mission.
*Several Pedestrians around the Dorsoduro district of Venice can be seen wearing the Golden Mask, but they will not drop it if killed or pickpocketed.
*The Golden Mask is the second and last mask Ezio wears in Assassin's Creed II, the first one being a plain silver one given to him by Leonardo to help disguise him during the Venice Carnevale.
You too must learn to blend like us; seen, but unseen.
The Courtesans are one of the three factions of Assassin's Creed II helping the main character, Ezio (the other two being the Thieves and the Mercenaries). Led by Paola, whose brothel is located in Florence, and by Sister Teodora, who is situated in Venice.

The courtesans can help Ezio by surrounding him which let him walk the streets unnoticed. Courtesans are very useful when trying to steal codex pages, or treasures inside banks as guards don't notice Ezio after the Courtesans seduce them. However, courtesans are not recommended to be used for long distances for guards will eventually pass by and pull two Courtesans automatically to them, making it harder for Ezio to blend. Keep in mind that they are slower than Ezio, are useless in fights (except as one-hit-cannon-fodder), and cannot perform any form of parkour.

Functions
*They help Ezio learn how to blend in.
*They can help fight guards with daggers when Ezio is attacked, though they go down very easily.
*They can be used to distract guards.
*Guards walking by Ezio can take two of the four Courtesans he has hired without notice. Two courtesans is still enough to distract any number of guards as long they are grouped to each other.
*They help keep you entertained while playing the game.

Achievement/Trophy
You can win an achievement/trophy, "Red Light Addict", by spending 5000 florins on them. One group of courtesans costs 150 florins. Therefore, you need to hire at least 34 groups to get it.

Trivia
*All ordinary courtesans are barefoot.
*Courtesans were used to assassinate Silvio Barbarigo's uncle.
*A glitch found while running around outside of Forlì - it seems that if one of the courtesans becomes stuck, separated from the group, and left behind, but does not officially leave the group as when distracting guards, the remaining three courtesans will not activate any blending effects when surrounding Ezio until he approaches the lost courtesan's perimeter and again enters the 'middle' of the group.
*Also, courtesans' swimming seems to be on par with that of Altaïr - if knocked into the water, a courtesan will scream on the way down, and then fail to re-emerge. The remaining three courtesans will continue to activate the blending effect without her, indicating that the death of the one courtesan is similar to when two leave the group to distract passing guards, leaving the other two alone to cover Ezio.
*Courtesans cannot die or be grabbed by Ezio.

thumb|right|300px|Broom Gameplay
In Assassin's Creed II, besides the purchasable "proper" weapons and the 2-handed weapons such as Spears and Halberds, Ezio can use "improper" weapons. These weapons include:

*Brooms

*Hoes

*Rakes

*Fishing Poles

*Pitch forks

*Viellas (the stringed instruments available only during Carnevale)
*The parts of a broken spear (tip acts like a sword, the other part like a mace)
*Invisible sword (Uses the unarmed slot, but when attacking swings like a sword, only instant kills and counters work but lost when wall running.

These can be picked up like 2-handed weapons. They are discarded once a fight is finished, or once Ezio sprints/climbs/enters a free running sequence. These weapons act mainly as hammers/maces. They even use the same animations and sound effects.

These "weapons" are extremely funny to use, but cannot be kept. The animations are sometimes nonsensical. For example, Ezio can slice an enemy's throat with a broom after a grab, exactly the way he does with a sword. These objects can be taken from civilians. They will drop what they're carrying once Ezio runs into them, when a fight starts, or if you throw money near the person.<br />
<br />
<br />
Note: Some improper weapons CAN be kept with a glitch, but will be lost when going to another city or randomly during excessive combat.<br />
To do this, you cannot have a weapon in your sword holster, this can be done by letting a 2 handed guard smash your sword/mace away. Then simply pick up one of those weapons and you may be able to keep them. Some weapons cannot be kept like the broom, but others like the mace part of a broken spear can be kept.<br />
<br />
To use the Invisible sword glitch, simply use a spear counter on a 2 handed guard, and try punching, you will notice that Ezio does the sword animation when swinging or blocking, this opens up for many hilarious weapon attacks and counters.<br />

Assassin's Creed II has some few Easter Eggs, while the first Assassin's Creed had only one ( Transformers, the face of Optimus Prime in truck mode on walls) while many other games had Easter Eggs related to Assassin's Creed such as Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto IV and the 2008 version of Prince of Persia.
Mario
300px|left
At the beginning of the third sequence, Ezio's Uncle says "It's-a-me! Mario!" which is a reference to Super Mario Bros. To further support this is Mario Auditore's Italian nationality, like Mario of Super Mario Bros.

Another reference to Nintendo's Mario is that both Mario's wear red, while the Mario's mercenaries wear green, much like Nintendo's Mario's brother, Luigi.
Giant Octopus
A giant octopus can be found in the Assassin's Tomb of Santa Maria Della Visitazione. The octopus appears before and after activating the lever that brings out the bars used to traverse the final chamber.

To find the giant octopus, you must look down into the water near the lever for a minute. Once a minute or so has passed, a cutscene plays, showing a large octopus swimming by. A second cutscene can be activated if the player pulls the lever and looks down again. The cutscene shows Ezio narrowly dodging the octopus's tentacle, before it swims away.
Altaïr's outfit from Assassin's Creed can be unlocked via Uplay by purchasing it for 30 points. It does not add/change any stat points for Ezio. It can also be worn in conjunction with any cape, allowing the player to wear the Altaïr outfit and still maintain 0% notoriety with the Medici or Venetian Capes.
The Bonfire of the Vanities
After downloading The Bonfire of the Vanities DLC, you are briefly able to see a vision of your whole family. After you meet up with Niccolo Machiavelli, return to Palazzo Auditore and step into the center of the courtyard. Ezio will enter a mode similar to his Eagle Vision and be able to see the figures of his parents and all of his siblings around the palazzo. Once you leave, the vision will disapear and you will not be able to see it again. (The vision cannot be viewed if you have completed Bonfire of the Vanities, so make sure to do this beforehand.)
