In 1943, [[Abstergo Industries]] experimented with the possibilities of invincibility and time-traveling, resulting in the [[Philadelphia Project]]. During the late 20th century, [[Daniel Cross]] lived in [[Philadelphia]], where he lived a life of hallucinations, drugs and alcohol. After a heavy night of drinking, he tried to assassinate a man he thought was a [[Templars|Templar]], but was taken away by [[Hannah Mueller]] before he could do any harm. She took him to an Assassin camp, where he met with [[Paul Bellamy]], though he didn't stay long and went back to his apartment to get his medication. When he and Hannah arrived, he realized he didn't have any medication left.<ref name="ac:tf">''[[Assassin's Creed: The Fall]]''</ref>

Paul Bellamy also made his way to the apartment, having realized why Daniel Cross was having hallucinations, he told of his great-grandfather, [[Nikolai Orelov]]. Daniel had another hallucination and realized he had to meet [[The Mentor (2000)|The Mentor]].<ref name="ac:tf"/>

When he finally met the Mentor, and was handed a [[Hidden Blade]], the experiments Abstergo had used him for started giving him the urge to assassinate the Mentor, which he did.<ref name="ac:tf"/>

After that, he traveled back to Abstergo Industries' lab in Philadelphia, where the Templars got all the information they needed to deal a major blow to the Assassins from him. He was then placed in the [[Animus]] to explore his ancestor's memories.<ref name="ac:tf"/>

===DIA satellite accident===
In the early 21st century, the [[DIA satellite accident]] took place at [[Wikipedia:Denver International Airport|Denver International Airport]]. The precise nature and time of the accident remain unclear, but Abstergo lost one of their [[Second Apple|Pieces of Eden]] in the accident, which caused a delay for the launch of the [[Eye-Abstergo]] satellite as they had planned to.<ref name="Assassin's Creed - Conference Room E-mail"/>
