The Frontier was a large tract of countryside located in the American north-east. Many battles of the French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War took place here.

The Frontier consisted mostly of wilderness, containing cliffs, forests, rivers, and mountains. It was also inhabited by a variety of animals, including bears, beavers, deer, wolves, rabbits, and elk.

While Boston and New York City were primary settlements located near the Frontier, the countryside itself also contained several small Native American and European ones; including the towns of Lexington, Concord, Charlestown, and Connor Kenway's Mohawk village. One could also find logging camps, mills, and trading posts.

As the war dragged on, the towns would change during the preparation or aftermath of a battle. At different times, one could find battalions of men readying for a charge, or injured soldiers by abandoned tents.

The Assassin Connor Kenway was particularly skilled in navigating the Frontier, and was able to climb and free-run across tree branches; granting him an advantage over enemies traveling below.
Trivia
*The Frontier is 1.5 times larger than Rome in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and holds around 30% of the main storyline content for Assassin's Creed III. Constantinople, also known at various times as Byzantium, Kostantiniyye or Istanbul, was the capital of the Byzantine Empire and its successor - the Ottoman Empire - following the conquest of 1453. The only pan-continental city in the world; during the Renaissance, it was Europe's largest and wealthiest city, consisting of four distinct districts; Constantine, Bayezid, Imperial, and Galata.

History
In 1204, the city was visited by the Mentor of the Levantine Assassins, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, who had hopes of introducing the Assassin Brotherhood to the city. However, mass riots followed by the arrival of Fourth Crusade who sacked the city, forced him to retreat.

In 1258, Niccolò and Maffeo Polo established an Assassins Guild in Constantinople, after returning from the Assassin Fortress of Masyaf, thus forming the Turkish Assassins branch. They hid the five Masyaf Keys given to them by Altaïr in the Yerebatan Cistern entered by a secret door in Polo's old trading post; the Maiden's Tower; and beneath the Forum of the Ox, Galata Tower and what would become Topkapı Palace.

During the Renaissance, at some point between 1501 and 1507, the Doge of Venice, along with Sultan Bayezid II, sought to ally their considerable naval powers through a free trade treaty. However, the Templars were wary of any peace between the two, and became intent on interfering with their alliance. The Borgia dispatched a force of mercenaries to disrupt the agreement, but they were quickly intercepted by members of the Italian Assassins, who set their ship aflame before they could depart.

By 1509, the Templars had started to relocate themselves to Constantinople due to their defeat in Italy and the disruption of their activities throughout Western Europe. The Templars formed a faction known as the Stewards of Byzantium and attempted to seize control of the city in the wake of Bayezid's absence, due to his civil war with his son Selim.

An 1509 Istanbul earthquake uncovered the Key hidden beneath Topkapı Palace. Two years later, after traveling to Masyaf to reveal his Assassin heritage, Ezio Auditore, Mentor of the Italian Assassins, arrived in Constantinople to retrieve the other Keys before the Templars. His leadership enabled the Assassins to reclaim their dens from the Byzantines and liberated most of the shops from their control, much as he had in Rome, as well as training several Assassins to the rank of Master Assassin, through the assassination of key Templar agents. However, when Selim took control of the throne, he banished Ezio from Constantinople, though allowed him one final visit to the city to sort out his affairs, by request of his son Suleiman.

Trivia
*In Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the city is slightly smaller than Rome was in Brotherhood, but it has more buildings, and is more densely populated. Constantinople is the third largest map in the Assassin's Creed series.
*Alexandre Amancio, the Creative Director of the Assassin's Creed series, stated at E3 that Constantinople is a "really cool metaphor for Ezio meeting Altaïr", citing the fact that half of Constantinople was in Europe, and the other in Asia.
*It is also stated by Darby McDevitt that Constantinople would be a meaningful meeting of Ezio and Altaïr as the city itself was formerly under Christian control, then Muslim, which suits Altaïr and Ezio as the former hails from a Muslim culture in Syria and the latter hails from a Christian Italy.
Rome (Italian: Roma) was a major city in Renaissance Italy, capital of the Papal States and headquarters of the Italian sect of the Templar Order. During the modern era, it was the capital city of the Italian Republic.

History
The Beginning of an Empire
According to legend, two brothers were given a choice, the money or the kingdom; one chose the kingdom while the other chose the money. Both of the brothers had two fine daughters. One brother used his money to hire mercenaries, and stole the kingdom from his brother, the King, imprisoning the King's daughter in the process. Whilst imprisoned, she gave birth to twin boys (Romulus and Remus).

The new king ordered that her and the children be killed; however, the daughter of the new king pleaded that her cousin be spared, so the new king ordered that only the twins be executed, while the daughter be spared. The servants feared the river because of high-tide and so, instead of drowning the twins, they simply placed them near the shallow section of the river, thinking they would still die when the tide came in.

The twins floated down the river until they were found and cared for by a wolf and a bird. A shepherd saw the twins and, remembering a rumor about the twins surviving; he took care of them and raised them as his own until the old king heard of the twins. Together they reclaimed the city, and when their grandfather asked them to guard over the city and become its rulers, they refused the offer, as they believed it was their grandfather's kingdom, not theirs. From there, they decided to build their own city, which would later be called Rome.

Archaeological evidence supports that Rome did in fact grow from pastoral settlements on Colle Palatino, the future site of the Roman Forum, upon which there are several caves. Eventually, the Republic of Rome was founded in c. 510 B.C.E. The successful and wealthy Republic gave birth to the imperial Roman Empires c. 27 B.C.E, which were sprawling territories ruled by succeeding emperors.

In 476, the Western Roman Empire fell, and the Roman Catholic Church managed to take power in 756. After that, Rome became an economic and cultural powerhouse in Europe, even though Florence surpassed Rome as the centre of the Italian Renaissance. Due to the rivalry between the two cities, the papacy spent vast amounts of money to create cultural masterworks.

Roman era
Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire, and was ruled by the Templars under the alias "SPQR".

On the 15th March 45 BC, Gaius Julius Caesar was killed by the Assassins, led by Marcus Junius Brutus.

In the year 41, the Assassin Leonius assassinated the Templar Caligula in Rome, whom he stabbed with a dagger.

Renaissance era
In 1476, Rodrigo Borgia, Grand Master of the Templar Order and a powerful figure in Vatican politics briefly left the city to discuss his Order's plans, before returning to affirm Papal approval. Assent was given by Pope Sixtus IV, and the Templars were provided with military support for their endeavors.

In 1492, Rodrigo became Pope Alexander VI, and head of the Papal States and Catholic Church. Ruling from Rome, he was left alone by the Assassins for the most part, until 1499, when Ezio Auditore da Firenze learned that the Vault was located in Rome, beneath the Sistine Chapel.

In 1500, following the siege by Cesare Borgia on the Assassin headquarters of Monteriggioni, Ezio Auditore returned to Rome to exact his revenge. Rome, at the time, had fallen far behind its fellow cities of Florence and Venice, and had grown stagnant in terms of development due to the influence of the Borgia.

The Borgia maintained oppression over the city with Borgia Towers located throughout Rome, which prevented shops from opening. In order to free Rome of the Borgia influence, Ezio killed the overlords of the towers and burned the structures themselves to the ground, taking them over for the Assassin Order afterwards.

Additionally, due to the loss of Monteriggioni, Ezio established the Assassins Guild in Rome, and set up its headquarters on Tiber Island. By recruiting several Roman civilians as Apprentice Assassins, the Assassin Order worked to free Rome of Templar control.

|alt=Panorama of Rome}}

Modern Times
Desmond, Lucy, Rebecca and Shaun travelled to Rome on 10th of October, 2012 to retrieve the Apple of Eden, after Desmond relived the last of Ezio's memory and found that Ezio had locked the Piece of Eden in the Vault, and had left the password to unlock the Vault on the wall of the Sanctuary, where they were hiding.

Structure
The city is divided into four districts: Centro, Antico, Campagna, and the Vaticano District.

By recruiting several Roman civilians as Apprentice Assassins, the Assassin Order worked to free Rome of Templar control.

|alt=Panorama of Rome}}

With the exception of the Vaticano district, these were also subdivided into 12 territories, each one controlled by a Borgia Tower.
