The name was changed (along with the hunter now prowler) because the new multiplayer beta trailer showed his name was in fact the Engineer.

Someone should edit the wiki pages for the Engineer, Dama Rossa, Barber, and Doctor characters saying that their weapons appear as relics in the ACIV multiplayer.
